How do you determine how much to charge for renting advertising space on a website?

I'm sure there are many factors to consider, but I really have no idea on this.

Thanks
Rob

From my understanding it goes based off of how much traffic your page is getting.

Than what you do is you charge per impressions, since it is pay per view advertising.

You can go to BuySellAds.com and they will have more information on this subject and how to sell your ads.

Site trust, Page Rank, Alexa Rank, kind of traffic, unique visitors.

A big factor that you can consider is the traffic that your page is generating. You can increase your ad rates all you want, but if you will not give your potential advertisers accurate figures on what they can get from your page, they would not really waste their time having transactions with you.

You also have to consider which model you'll follow...just a flat rate per month, or rate per x impressions, or cost per click.

Monitor your organic visitors and keep a record of the progress that your website is making. You will need those to convince your advertisers in the future. If you want to sell those ad spaces at high rates, begin making and publishing high quality content now and do everything that you can to make your page rank.
