Guidance with list building and giving away free stuff.

Hey guys need some advice with regards to setting up an auto responder and lead capturing on my blog.

I want to create a short video powerpoint presentation series on making money with affiliate marketing based on what I have learned and give it away for free on my blog...

But I have two questions:
  1. How do I present the information, PDF with attached videos which are downloaded, or do I create a webpage on my blog to show the videos/ material?
  2. Do I send a link via the auto responder in an Email or do I send them to a separate page with a download link?
I hope this makes sense, I'm a bit confused...

Thanks for reading

Rick.

Once someone opts into your list via your blog..you give them a link on your next email/thank you page...with the link to your downloadable product..in the email. In other words the download link is sent to the subscriber via your email sequence. I hope that helps.

Rick, if it's a sequential series of videos/tutorials (i.e., do this first, then this, etc.), I'd put each video/PDF on its own page and use the autoresponder to send each lesson based on a reasonable time for completion.

Email 1 (after the thank you, here's what to expect, etc. message): Here's step one. [link to video, download]. Click the link and watch the video, then download the PDF and print the worksheet included. Do the steps, referring back to the video and/or the PDF. It should take you about two days or so to finish step 1, so I'll send you step two in two days. Watch your email for "[subject line] Step 2"

Email 2: How did it go? Did I make everything clear enough? If you have any questions, go ahead and post them in the comments section, and I'll do my best to answer them or point you to someone who can.

If you finished step 1, here's step 2:

    [link to video/PDF]

In step 2, we yada, yada, yada...

This step should only take you a couple of hours, so I'll send you the next step tomorrow. Watch for...

    And so on.

This accomplishes two things. One, it trains people to anticipate your emails, open them and take action. Two, it builds your authority and gives you the opportunity to offer affiliate links to tools and equipment needed/helpful for each step without coming across as a midway booth pitchman.

Once they finish your course sequence, automatically move them to an ongoing maintenance list for continued communication. If they actually accomplished what you promised in your initial sequence, they should be eager for whatever you have next in the pipeline.

If your freebie is simply a collection of tips, I'd still put each video on its own page. But I'd put a summary of each tip and collect them into a single PDF for instant download. You're still training them to click your links, and you still have the opportunity to offer them useful products, as well as build the relationship via answering questions in the comments section of each video's page.

Don't confuse ignorance with stupidity. Ignorance can be cured.

I would do all of them. Give way more than you expect to get back. Giving 110% will reward you later.

The video allows your prospect to feel like they are actually talking to you. A better relationship tool. The pdf download shows them you really know what you are talking about. To them, you would be an experienced leader.

I suggest giving the pdf away for free but only after they opt in.

So, send your first email have the pdf download link in the email. Then give a link to your video. Call them both, free gifts. That is what they are by the way.

    Good luck.

    Hi Rick,

Looked at your site, and great to see that you've already found fiverr as a resource.

Autoresponders are pretty simple to use once you know the basics. For downloads I would create blog posts and then put the links into the follow-up messages. This way the leads will get used to visiting your site, and generally get to know you a bit better.

Also I would put a form in the top right where you currently have the "about me" widget.
