WarriorForum's forum search not working?

When I go to search by user, the newest results are from the 8th.
If I search by keyword, it stops on the 8th, with a few from the 9th-14th (not all).
But there are many newer threads.

    I have also noticed this.

Curious what would have caused this. I have to assume it has already been noticed and is being corrected.

An alternative is to search the forum via Google. Put the following in Google's search box...

      site:warriorforum.com "Member Name"

^ Replace "Member Name" with the actual name of the member.

Then on the search results page, click "Search Tools" --> "Anytime" to narrow the results down to a specific time frame.

Google is nowhere near as effective as the search built into forums. Not even close. It's fine for searching the web, but terrible at searching inside forums.

Threads searched here are sorted by date, or by username. Google doesn't do that.

Right now, this forum has no internal search. It may be why less people are responding to threads lately. I'd not be surprised if their traffic stats were down (pageviews) for October. I can't find things as well as I used to, so I know for a fact I'm not here as much, not viewing anywhere near as many threads daily.

    Not good.

The site has a problem that needs addressing.

I've reached the help desk a few days ago and they confirmed my suspicion: it's a technical glitch and they are working on it.

As for Google not being as effective as the forum's internal search engine, I think it's a matter of taste. Personally, whenever I want to see what a particular forum member has to say on a specific topic, I use the string suggested by Brandon above, and it works very well. But to each his own.

Just the confirmation that I needed. For the past few days, I do not see the previous threads where I have recently commented at, as well. The latest recorded ones that I can get are the ones where I have posted comments at about a week ago. Thanks for letting me know about this.

... and it all seems to be working beautifully again, now, and with no residual backlog of missing posts from the database. Very many thanks to Thomas for finding the way to fix this problem (which I know was quite a serious one)!

Seconded, it's easy to forget the fixer-uppers.

          Well done Thomas, nightmare over.
