Callfire Losing Us Money? + A Question About Stat Counter

This is really bothering me and I'm not calling callfire because I'm sure they'll be bias as hell and give us some bs answer.

Up until now, I've been using legitimate phone numbers on all my sites. Its only recently I started making duplicate sites for certain niches (not duplicate content just another site targeting the same keywords). so I've been forced to use callfire to know which sites are generating which leads.

On all my previous sites, that use real phone numbers, the second our sites hit page 1 we start getting calls. However, my most recent site, that I put a callfire number on is ranking #1 and barely producing calls. I'm in the same niche with another site, and know that we should be getting more calls.

So I check stat counter and see its generating traffic. Then I login to my callfire and see 8 calls, but only 3 transfers.

Now I tested the number before putting it on the site (just one time), and it transferred fine. But after I saw this, I called a friend and told him to call the number. About 5 minutes later I get his call. Then just to be sure I said "you only called once right?" and he said "I called 3 times, the first 2 times it rang twice, and then the line went blank".

Then I checked my logs, and it said 11 calls and 4 transfers. So it confirmed exactly what he said.

This is a SERIOUS problem! Because any calls we miss, can potentially be worth a few thousand dollars. And I'm now suspecting that callfire numbers are NOT reliable at all. Just the fact that it says "11 calls" and "4 transfers" does NOT make any sense. Then you add the fact that my friend had to call 3 times, just to get through once..... I mean wtf?

I thought callfire was suppose to be one of the best call tracking sites out there? Has anyone ever experienced this before? Are there any other companies that do NOT fail at transfering calls?

------------

My second question, which is pretty simple.

I'm new to stat counter.

And I'm trying to figure out the difference between "page views" and "unique visits". Like today, we had 32 page views, 11 unique visits, 0 returning visits. But isn't a page view and unique visit kinda the same thing?

Like a page view is when someone views your site correct? And a "unique visit" is..... when someone views/visits your site? What am I missing? Or is a page view really just an impression? Like the person is seeing your site in the SERPS but not clicking? I'm kinda confused.

The major concern for me right now is call fire, but if anyone can answer any of these questions I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks - RS

Hey man, I think you answered your own question with callfire, honestly.

I don't know anything about them but it doesn't look good.

I know you've been in the game for a while and figured you would know this, but no, page views and unique hits are not the same thing. A page view is just when one page is loaded on your site. So one unique visitor could result in numerous page views on your website.

Official definition of page view from Google:

    "
an instance of an Internet user visiting a particular page on a website."

Uh, yes it is. Call callfire and tell them what's going on. They are one of the best as far as I know, but that is definitely losing you money.

Unique visits are the total number of unique people to see your page. Page views are how many times it's been viewed total. So 11 unique visitors could all visit your site 3 times and you have 33 page views.
