what is the single most important marketing tool for you?

What is the one most single important marketing tool you've found for you? (Free or paid?) And would you prefer it was free, or do you think it is better you pay for it (i.e., less competition since you need to pay money?)

      Hi Jonathan,

I personally feel that the Internet us created to gather and share content.

I feel that content is important component of doing marketing online. Outsourcing the content writing seems to be a more logical option as the time save can be used for other more useful marketing activity.

      Just my 2 cents

At the moment, it's a combination of Wordpress and Twitter. One of my sites went from almost no traffic to 210,000 visits per month almost completely due to tweeting of regular posts. This took just couple of months, and the site now brings in steady affiliate commissions and CPM ad revenue.

I personally love Google Analytics (and analytic software in general). It's free and it works a charm. Same goes for AWStats that's part of my hosting account's cPanel.

Over the last few months, I've become a great fan of testing and have been rigorously testing every aspect of my business. It has led to some shocking revelations and helped me change my marketing to suit my target market.

My vote is for Google Analytics. If it were paid, I would have still gone for it

    Regards,

I love Linkvana, I love that it is highly priced and exclusive (or at least it's supposed to be limited in member numbers, but I take that with a pinch of salt) because of the high price, many people don't use it and many that try don't use it effectively so stop paying and go back to free methods etc.

But it is so quick and easy to create unique links and increase the rankings of my websites, that I just couldn't do without it now.

I also love Traffic Travis. I use the professional version, but the free version is also great for a number of things. Again this is another tool I couldn't do with out. (Sorry had to name two tools because I love them both equally )

I would say its adwords. It has been a great help to internet marketers although 90% of marketers still complain about it.

    My most important marketing tool?
I'd have to say... "common sense"
    Without it, your running blind...
No physical tool will work to it's full potential without it...

*Although Google Analytics runs a close 2nd...lol

My single most important marketing tool is that pile of jello keeping my ears apart...

Seriously, without the application of thought, all the tools in the world are useless. Applying your brain allows you to absorb new knowledge, recognize successes and failures, see patterns and generate ideas on how to profit from them. And sometimes, you get those flashes of brilliance that equal quantum leaps in your success...

My second most important tool is the Mr. Coffee machine on my kitchen counter. Maybe I should list Juan Valdez as a JV partner?
