Paid Advertising Through Craigslist?

Hi,

I would like to promote a paid advertisement in craigslist but don't know where to start.

Mine is a weight loss product and I will be linking it directly to link in my signature below which comes to an opt in page.

How do I go about doing this? Plus, it seems pretty expensive for posting on Craigslist. Is it really worth it? Need some good advice here!

  • Yes, sure. Craigslist is a good website for posting ads and it is reliable, too. I have tried posting paid ads on Craigslist before and I get results that are "okay". There is nothing wrong with it, I guess. However, the main key is being good at marketing your product.

  • With a good headline you can get many clicks on Craiglist for sure, and it must be converting because peoplee go there to search for stuff.

    • Definitely. Again, it depends on how you will present it. If you are paying for it, maximize your chances. And yes, having a good headline can really help you. Whenever I browse through Craigslist ads, the only ones I notice are those on caps and the ones that really have interesting headlines.

    • What I said was "I notice" the ones on caps. I just notice them, but I do not actually click them if they do not make sense to me. However, you can also use this strategy, if you want to. Just do not overdo it or it will just be a pain in the eye. Make people curious about your ad.

  • You can post ads on Craigslist for free or you can use paid ads. It is good to somehow set you headline apart from the rest by using an asterisk to start or using caps. Many people have had good results from Craigslist so go for it.

  • Craigslist can be effective in generating leads and selling stuff, but would have to either hire someone to place the ads for you or get the tools to place multiple ads yourself either way you are paying to do this.....and test it out

    • Absolutely agree. CL is good for selling stuff, like cars, mobiles, furniture, ets. as well as for promoting your small business online & generating leads. Or for job hunting.
  • I don't guess Craigslist will give you the best results, as they have a lot of random direction traffic, i would say go for Facebook highly targeted ads, those a cheap and profitable.

    • Craigslist can bring some nice traffic your way, but it depends on the headline. You will find that Craigslist traffic is not as target as Facebook traffic as rakhwas has mentioned. I would test different headlines and ads in Craigslist and track everything to see which headline and ad brings you the most traffic. Well, to dig a little deeper the best traffic that converts into sales.
