Hi Warriors,

I am relatively new to Warrior Forum and just wanted to get some feedback from you.

I am not trying to promote, sell or squeeze anything, just want to know what do you think about the e-book cover designs, given below. I have prepared all of them - they are unique, not copy-pasted or something.

Here are the sample designs:

If you like or don't like them, please, tell me why! I would like to improve.

Thank you very much in advance for your feedback and opinions.

Good luck,
Bill

The color choices and layout are not bad at all and have a professional feel to them. In fact, I've seen plenty of pro work that doesn't measure up to this.

I especially like the box and related book covers, as well as the Cash Wells Fortune cover.

Just one small comment, however. For my taste, most of the other layouts do seem a bit static or symmetrical. Just a touch more of something slanted or off center, as in the box and the Cash Wells cover, might give them a more consistent feeling of energy.

Other than that one (very small) quibble, they're good work that you can be proud of.

Cheers from warm and smiling Thailand,
    Charles

Guys, Thank you very much for your feedback!

@charlesburke: Thank you for the detailed analysis - I needed that feedback! Your comment about the "static or symmetrical"-itly of the designs was especially useful.

I think they're very professional-looking and eye catching. I particularly like the way you've got the $50 bill on the "Cash Wells Fortune" cover to bend round the spine. Very innovative!

Everything in the first row must be more to the niche... likes a track and dollars. The "Switch on Cash" - I did not like it very much, try using better colours. I don't like red and yellow.

The other ebooks are superb! Top notch work mate!!

Thank you, Akky! I agree that Switch on the Cash cover has a bit unconventional look for a MMO product. I will consider your suggestions!

    Hi,

I think they are good yes, my own personal opinion is that the text is too dominant, on glance of an ebook I would want the image to be just as strong if not stronger than the text. I think in some cases some of the text is unneccesary. The santa claus ecover is definately the one that stands out for me.

    All the best, Phil

Hi Phil, thanks for the feedback. Yes, the text really dominates. It is - maybe - a subconscious decision. I didn't do it intentionally. ))

I do love the first set... it conveys a progression of learning, and earning

I agree with ragstoriches that graphics are going to be what first catches the eye, then the words. So the ones with the starker graphics actually don't let people reach the words.

The designs are really good, however you may want to make the fonts more readable, currently the fonts are too small, you might aswell not use even add them.

I think the best deisgn is the one job 2 salaries but again the top font needs to be bigger

    Thanks

    Hi Bill
for a first effort excellent - I've been designing signs for twenty years so perhaps I can comment - my biggest criticism of design is hard to read text - some of the text is hard to read not enough contrast with background - why one job is good - great colour combo - I also like cyan(lite blue) on black with silver subtext
the white fade background on subtext (top set) is a good option
use outlines (with care) to add punch to text - contrasting colour - white outlines work better than black on red text
make sure images are congruent with message - the fence with traffic avalanche jars for me - dollar bill with cash wells works - the lines on plr highway mmmm attractive but.....
be careful with ultra bold text on large words - hard to read- as in miracles ????
    needs a dark outline
shades of brown (bottom left give an old fashion look - maybe good for public domain material - pastels look modern
    hope this helps
for colour choice - get a colour wheel opposites attract - neighbours compliment
    hope this helps

      Hi Winson,

You are right - there is too much text in the first sample. As I am originally print designer, I've forgotten that these e-covers are not going to be seen in their actual size, but as small images on the screen. I will use less text in the next designs.

BTW, all the ecovers are prepared for real books. )

    Hey Bill!

some of the designs there are awesome, and they are getting to a nice semi-pro level! A few things:

I love the one job two salary cover (the black and white BG one) - the colours are superb, and the typography is sublime - also there are very few words or other 'distracting' elements

I am not too keen on the first - there are too many words, and glow never really looks good (Except to give a 'guru' kinda feel, like your miracles cover)

plr highway is nice, especialy the semi-tranparent box around the black, but why the butterflies? It may make you think of Butterfly Marketing, but I would lose them

    Just my 2 cents!

Very good job there. I agree that the group set #1 looks awesome. But the second one almost looks like a real book taken with a camera :-)

Although one thing that I always seem to notice (for some reason or another) among most any ebook covers that I see is that the spine in relation to the front and 'back' cover is 90 degree angled. When I make mine I usually try to reshape just a very subtle curve into the edges of the spine with a shadow effect.

    Just my two cents though.

Excellent work. The first group along with the Cash Wells stand out the most. Blue is a great selling color.

I think what stands out for me is the detail that went into them. Having the pages look like they are fanned out a bit and the open box adds some touch to it for sure.

I would agree that the font and text needs to be a bit sharper and maybe larger on some of the smaller ones for easier readability.

      Hi ikontent,

I don't want to promote at the moment. I just need feedback.
I will start a WSO to offer and promote my services.

With this thread I wanted to find out if the warriors like my works.

      Good luck!
      Bill

I thought that the the background picture in PLR Highway is not 'themed'. Why is the butterfly there?

As a general rule, have pictures that speak for the title. Otherwise, use abstract art to 'fill' the background.

As for the rest, they look good.

Hi Joseph, thank you very much!
I also think that those butterflies are not looking good. I am going to remove them...

I think they're all pretty good. They make the product actually look good quality and the shadows add a nice bit of depth to them.

      Hi StaffPartyTrivia,

I am happy that you like the designs.
Which names you don't like? Please, tell me why? I want to improve them.

      Thanks again!

Awesome designs. The internet marketing fast track series and the books in front of it are really good designs. The ONE JOB TWO SALARIES and CASH WELLS FORTUNE are also great.

I think all of the designs are really nice but there are two particular I'll comment on. I love the Santa report because it shows a more modern Santa than what is generally available but I don't like the PLR book - I don't "get" the butterfly graphic or the color scheme for that one.

      Thanks Leanne,

It appears that the PLR Highway is not the best of my works.
      I will re-design it. Thanks!!

      Good luck,

I like the designs, I think you've done a good job on all of them.

I like the idea of fanning the pages too, gives a bit more realism and one niggling point that I got to say - I can't visualise the first set of books fitting in the box and for that reason it just jarred a wee bit.

    Otherwise, great.

Oh yes, one more thing. Just a bit of forum netiquette, don't make a new post for every reply, it's seen as bad form. Group your replies together in the same post and you won't be accused of falsely upping your post count and bumping your thread to the top unnecessarily.

My two faves are actually the middle two - The Cash Wells Report and the PLR one. The Santa Claus one is great too.

Why do I like those ones? They look the most like real books. They look like actual book covers - they don't feel like covers designed for easy readability on a small e-book cover icon. And that's what helps sell me on getting an ebook is feeling like I'm getting an actual book.

    Really nice work

@Peter: Thank you very much for your feedback and for the advice about posting. I didn't know and thought that it would be polite to answer to each of the messages personally. I am sorry about this. (

@ShawnC: Thank you, Shawn! that's a new point of view - looking at these covers as a real books. It is "new", because I read a lot of messages within this thread that it is better the text to be bigger and easy to read. The interesting thing is that I have designed these ecovers as they were for real paper books. )
