Is North American manufacturing patriotic?

First time poster.
Was just curious as to your thoughts on the above? Does a product manufacturing in USA or Canada have any value to the end consumer over buying Chinese products?
Would a consumer spend say 5% More for an American made shirt over a chinese made shirt?
I understand the profit margin difference, I'm just curious as to whether there is a marketability of "Made in USA" or "Made in Canada". I imagine there must be in a premier product but maybe not so much in a common place market.
