Squeeze Pages with the Wall paper background.

Hey there,

I was wondering how people are making those squeeze pages with the background wallpapers in the background. Is this a new type of wordpress theme or are people using html? Is this possible in optimizepress1.

      Using background images on a squeeze page has been done for many years.

      I can't speak for OptimizePress but it's easy in WordPress with most any theme.

      Just one word of caution. I have tested the use of background images with squeeze pages and in every test I did, a plain white background outperformed every image I tried. Your mileage may vary.

      Could it be that the backgrounds are too distracting and take away from the one single purpose of the squeeze?

        Thanks for that info. I was thinking the same, the background could distract people. I tried a simple, no frills capture page and it seems to perform better

    There's a lot of new software available in the squeeze page market. That page appears to be simple html.

    Every single person I know who has split-tested them against "the same thing with a plain white background" (and one or two who have split-tested them against "the same thing with a plain, colored background) has reported that the plain versions convert better.

      I agree with Lexi... between my own projects and hundreds of clients I've done squeeze pages for... in almost every case... the plain, simple, no wall paper version pulled better.

      Remember... in almost every single market... it's the WORDS that will relay your message... and not the background. If anything, many times the background can be a distraction from what's being said.

      People respond to messages and words more than pictures on a squeeze page. With sales pages, pictures are important to bolster the sales pitch.

      You will almost never go wrong if you model after a newspaper when doing squeeze pages or sales letters. in other words, make it simple, clear, plain, and easy to read.

      Doing that will ensure your message at least gets noticed.

      With one client I worked with... I took his page that was converting at 20%... and only changed a few words and made the background white, and used black and red text... and optin conversions went to 38%.

      Its the same thing I've tested over the years in regards to header graphics. Most of my sales pages without header graphics have converted better... since it's less distracting and people can immediately read the headline.

      If something has the chance to distract the reader from the message, I wouldn't use it.

    The other drawback of those wallpaper squeeze pages is that the background images are huge and take a while to download, especially for those viewing on a mobile device.

    As others have stated, I would personally just stick with a simple squeeze page.

    I have a few now using optimize press 2, using the blank template they have one but I wasn't able to chance the background so I use the blank one it takes about 10 minutes to do, on version 1 I could never figure it out, on version 2 it's pretty easy

    it's pretty simple if you using HTML to create the static background image :>

    in html, you can change the background image to be "fixed" instead of "scroll", so that you scoll down, the background image remain static...

    not sure on OPtimizepress though
