Does anyone accept Bitcoin for their WSO?

I wasn't sure about the rules or anything, but I'm releasing a WSO later on this month and wondered if Bitcoin would be an acceptable way to receive a payment. Has someone already done this?

    You would need to contact the mods to confirm that. I haven't seen anyone accept them as yet. So long as it's not your only form of payment since very few people probably have bitcoins.

    Yeah, I sort of want it to take off just because I'm a techno geek, but it might be worth it to offer the WSO extremely cheap as bitcoin, only because the prices are shooting up a lot again now that Baidu has started accepting them. I think this forum would do well using them especially on how many sellers get screwed by people who do paypal chargebacks.

      I think the additional option of using is a great idea. There are a lot of us "techno geeks" who have bitcoins and wouldn't mind more.

      These days the success of a WSO offer has very much to do with the affiliates promoting it. By using Bitcoin you won't be able to use any of the popular affiliate platforms such as Clickbank, Warrior Plus or JVZoo. That presents a problem. So you need to weigh up the advantages of accepting bitcoin vs the disadvantages. Personally I think there are far more advantages to using a simple payment service such as Paypal.

    I've just been researching Bitcoins because a website I buy from in the Netherlands has just switched to them.

    I won't be attaching my bank account to their service at this time. Seems a little risky. Maybe if they change their process in the future.

    I would guess you would get very few if any BC buyers.

      Based on this line you might want to do a little more research. Unless you mean a specific BitCoin distributor/seller, BitCoin isn't localized so you can't just hook up and buy them... you have to get them from someone who has them.

      Anyway, yeah, I probably wouldn't use them, but I wouldn't mind seeing them be allowed.

    This would be a cool option, but keep in mind that Bitcoin value fluctuates. It features built-in scarcity to keep prices high, but it can crash at any time, as well.

    I'm not worried about it crashing. Honestly I don't spend much on a WSO, it's mostly my time so if the prices dip 15% after I made my sales yeah it kinda sucks, but at the same time it might go up 15% after my sales.

    I think I might release it and offer Paypal or Bitcoins, I would make them the same price though.

    While they are used by some, the majority of people here use Paypal. I don't think that your WSO will start a bitcoin movement on the WF. I know I would never use them and I'm sure there are a lot of others who have no interest in bitcoin.

    I never seen any1 using bitcoins for wso so far.But i did saw some guys accepting bitcoins as payment for link building stuff especially for high pr links.

      I think you're right, as for WSO there's just too many purchases, but if I ever decided to offer a service then I could accept them there.

      I bet if I offered to buy services with Bitcoin more people would jump aboard

    If PayPal ever accepted Bitcoin then maybe it would get a FEW people out of the woodwork to buy products but I just don't see it taking off the way that others have forecasted it to. Nor do I see PayPal ever accepting it. Bitcoin is too small a market still.

      Isn't Internet marketing all about making your offer available to as many people as you can?

      Isn't selling about providing the prospect with an easy and convenient as possible financial transaction?

      Isn't marketing about earning the trust and confidence of your potential prospects?

      I believe it is . . . and because I believe that I am not ready to start accepting or using Bitcoin. It doesn't provide any logical or economical reasons for its use (at the present time) by online marketers.

      If you want to buy or trade Bitcoins as a investment . . . that's fine. It's an extremely risky one at the moment, but that "investing" should not be confused with what's appropriate for Internet marketing.

      If you want to have a real online business, stick with the standard methods of payment. When you see Amazon and Walmart accepting Bitcoins, that may be the time to seriously consider them as a payment alternative.

        I am fascinated with bitcoin and I know someone who is creating their own currency -

        having said that - noone has ever offered a bitcoin payment method in their WSO but it doesn't mean it can't be done - I would offer both payment via regular methods and or bitcoin

    Haha - funny! Nice one, though mate.

    Unfortunately, Bitcoin is much too volatile currently to be used as currency.

    The Cyprus government is currently accenting Bitcoin to pay for educational courses but they can only do this by immediately converting it into euros.

    As WSOs are sold through PayPal I think will have to wait for them to catch up!

    It will be a while, LOL

    But I admire the effort.

    Interesting point – if the dollar collapses (which I think is a definite possibility) should we be in Bitcoin?

    Who knows – perhaps there's a WSO in there somewhere?

      BTC IMHO is not a good currency to buy 'things' with.

      It is valued much to high. Kind of like the same reason you dont see people walking into a sandwich shop with a gold bullion bar and paying with it...

      BTC seems to be the currency standard and reserve among the crypto coins kind of how the USD is the standard used for trading globally and the reserve.

      Many of the newer coins have advantages that BTC did not have althought BTC had many advantages over them.

      The advantages the newer coins have is they can market their coin for specific uses.

      For example QuarkCoin aims to be used as a day to day buying and trading currency e.g. I sell you a wso and you pay me in QRK. Get it?

      And Dogecoin (my favorite) is already well known for its tipping mechanism. Users all over reddit and twitter are "tipping" one another Dogecoins much the same way we hit the "THANKS" button here. They also have massive developments going on in online gambling and gaming.

      Namecoin allows the transfer of "keys" and also allows values to be added to those keys.

      Litcoin, Megacoin, Worldcoin, Feathercoin and plenty of other are rip offs of Bitcoin (as are most in general) however they have not real other USP as compared with Bitcouin.

      Peercoin is a funny one because it is just like the others however it exploits p2p much more plus added some fancy code like time stamps and created a thing called "coin age" no one knows why yet (at kleast I dont, lol).

      There are plenty of coins and I still think it's early days before we see any one currency dominate as a day to day trading currency for goods and services.

      You have fractions of a coin. E.g. a $7 wso could be priced at 0.007 BTC to make it match.

      The buyer then would have 0.007BTC deducted from his balance. For example his balance would go down from 1BTC to 0.993BTC.

    The better question here is how would refunds work with BitCoins? I doubt they will allow it because buyers would have no way of disputing something they weren't happy with.

    I think having BitCoins as another option would be great. However I do not believe either WSO Pro or JVZoo are compatible.

    Many people on here can't use PayPal and would love an alternative.
