I recently received a complaint from my client that another website that claims that we have been comment spamming on their site. I checked out their site and it has very bad pr/pa/da, and I do my link buildings by hand and i have a list of websites and its not on there. However, the anchor text is a keyword that we are going after & and ip is from where I work. How can this happen?

    unfortunately, you've been countered seo-ed.

Getting the anchor text isn't hard...all you have to do is look at open site explorer....and getting your ip isn't hard too....all they had to do is mask their ip. It's obvious because pretty much all black hat programs comes with build-in proxy. It wouldn't be possible to even show your ip address unless you deliberately take the proxies out...my best guess is that a competitor or a rivalry of yours wants to do some negative seo for your client so they drop, and they can go to your client claiming that they have a solution.....and since they build the links themselves, they can easily take the links down and the penalty will be gone...and their rankings back up and charge lots of money for that. The only thing you can do is find those links and disavow them. Other than that, theres nothing much you can do.
