About Solo Ads - What do you shoot for?

6 replies
Just wanted to check opinion of fellow warriors on Solo Ads -

1. What do you aim for return on investment? If you spend $100 for lets say 200 clicks, typically what do look for in terms of -
a. Optin rate
b. $ from OTOs
c. $ from future emails in next 30 days

My data is for above example - optin rate - ~40% (80-90 subs)
$ from OTO - $60-65
$ from future emails - $60-$65

2. What is your typical funnel?
A. Optin followed OTO or
B. Optin then content email for few days and then offers or
C. anything else?

3. What is your typical email frequency? Do you email every day or twice a week any other frequency?
I typically do 3-4 times a week

4. Any other interesting things you want to share? (Feel free to PM me if you would like.. )

    There's not really a typical result, as many solo ad vendors have lists that will vary A LOT.

    But typically with a REALLY good opt-in page (which to be blunt, there's not a lot of people that are good at this), you'd shoot for something in the range of 40% to 60%.

    Then right after they'd opt-in, you'd want to show at least a few OTO's immediately after right then and there. I sometimes find vendors where I can make more than 100% of my money back from day one, but even if you make about 50% back, it's still not bad.

    Then as for the lead follow up, I find that mailing at least daily (if not twice a day) is best for a variety of reasons, and you want to offer a wide range of low and high priced products and aim to get your money back within the first month or so.

    However, again, it can vary a lot because not all lists are created equal (and that's not even mentioning the vendors that do fake clicks).

      Thanks Brian for the insight..I agree, quality of the lists vary. I need to improve conversion of my OTOs. But I try to recover atleast 50% of my investment using OTOs and then remaining through my autoresponder email sequence. From there on it is all profit.

      What is the typical price of OTOs that you offer? I typically go for $17.

    Did you get a copy of Matt Bacak's 'Solo Ad Black Book'?

    Very good investigation into what Solo Ad providers are good and not so good. Well worth the small investment.

    Thanks James..I noticed that James B's book is about solo ad sellers in IM niche. I am into non-IM niche.

    Do you know of any good product which is on about buying solo ads and using them effectively?

    Also, any idea on what price point converts well in OTOs - $7/$17/$27 etc? I typically go for $17.
