All feedback would be greatly appreciated .

So I have this idea.

I've been writing a Ebook on how to be a better man all around with women. Within my Ebook it basically covers how to be less insecure , how to be a better man , being more confident, and steps to getting more women! My target audience would be males under the age of 40 , insecure, and down right helpless . I strongly believe that any man who is struggling with dating can use my Ebook and attract more women .

So once I finish this Ebook I'd like to sell it , but rather than sell it on some Ebook site I would rather design a website that leads people to this Ebook and offers it for no more than $15 .

What steps must I take to make this happen??

-how would I create a squeeze page ?
-how could I get this to a targeted audience ?
-how can I get my book copyrighted or what not so others can't resell it ?
-is it best to have a site to sell a program like this or should I do it without a site ?
All advice is greatly appreciated !

You can easily create a squeeze page using a free wordpress plug in called WordPress Landing Pages. It offers the a "Guru-Like" look on your squeeze page and also a/b split testing. If you have the money though I recommend going for premium squeeze page themes/plugins such as OptimizePress or InstaBuilder (which I use).

As for getting it in front of an audience, find relationship forums and place your offer in your signature. Go to where your target audience is. Don't wait for them to find you.

Alternatively you can try to get affiliates on board to promote your product. In order to do this, you need to have a fully functioning sales funnel.

As for copyrighting, there will always be someone who will find means and ways to crack whatever protection you're using. The best method therefore is to place it in a membership area where only paying members can access.

Hope this helps and Good Luck!

Ebin Pagen (David DeAngelo) probably has some course material on the subject. Not exactly a new subject, having the right sales slant and grabbing headlines, "Be a Man!" might be as important as the book.

I don't believe it's worth having a dedicated site for such a low price item, if you had a decent 2% conversion rate and drove prospects with 30 cent clicks it would break even. Having a $15 front end product and a video course upsell for at least $45 would make more sense.

(There is another "camp" on the internet producing hypnotic sissy training videos)

If you want to get right in the middle of this type of stuff, go into the relationship section of Yahoo! Answers.

There are desperate people there seeking immediate advice on real problems. Seems like hundreds of new relationship messages are posted each hour.

Yahoo Answers has an interesting rating and point system. Not only can you establish yourself as a Guru to these folks, the real life stories can inspire new ideas and new chapters. Maybe even new books.

Many people who write relationship eBooks and setup cheap websites are rehashing information from other sites and other books. Be real, and be relevant.

Get out there and mix it up. Go to them, help them, establish credibility and trust. Oh, and don't forget to build an awesome profile to let people to know more about you, your products and your services.

Look! No links in my signature. This means I actually have something useful to say. I'm not just posting to be posting...

    hi there ...

I would certainly suggest you build a squeeze page first, seeking to attract your prospects with a free hook ... say free webinar, free report etc.

Thereafter, you can seek to sell your book via a series of emails you will send to the people who opted in through your squeeze page.

If you need help on any of this, please shout out and I will be able to help you.

Here’s some feedback but I’m going in another direction lol… And please understand I am writing to help NOT discourage you in any way. I’ve been in your shoes and I failed miserably back in the day!

To write a book then try and find a target audience is going in reverse. You should know your target audience and what subjects they are starving for first. This is the main reason why writers fail and quit! It hurts when you spend 6 months writing about something you are passionate about and then no traffic, no sales, no nothing! If you are just writing to say “hey look at me, I’m a bonafide author” that’s cool, but if you want to make money and quit your day job permanently, know what your market wants and write only about that! Fix or solve their needs and frustration on narrow topics and you will do great!

How to be less insecure, how to attract women, and how to be a good man are in different sub niches in the relationship and self help market... Meaning these could be 3 different books. A broad topic book will not do so well in the info marketing realm. An info marketing book should be primarily about one main topic that helps a market in need of answers.

Have you done keyword research to see if your main subject is popular? The reason I ask is because “how to be a better man all around with women” and several other phrases I tried to research, came up with zero searches. Meaning, I can’t find anyone who is searching/having frustrations about your topic. No searches equals no sales.

Just to give you an understanding of what I mean… I went to the Google keyword Planner, (This is the best friend for information marketers… especially if you are going to spend weeks or months writing about a topic/niche) and this is what I found:

How to be a better man to a woman = 0 monthly searches
Be a better man all around with women = 0 monthly searches
Get more women = 0 monthly searches

    BUT I FOUND!!!!!!

How to be a better husband (love/relationship niche) 2,400 mo. searches
How to be a better boyfriend (love/relationship niche) 1,600 mo. searches
How to be confident (self help) 9,900 mo. searches
How to attract women (love/self help) 8,100 mo. searches
How to get a girlfriend (love/self help) 33,100 mo. searches

If you learn there are 9,900 people searching for “How to be confident” (with little to no competition) and you have a few ways to help them out, write a small book solely on that subject… “How to be confident in 3 easy steps”

When a person types in Google “How to be confident” and they find your site called “confidencein3easysteps.com” and the title of your sales page says “I can help you with confidence in 3 easy steps” blah blah blah You have a great chance of keeping that persons attention and they will possibly purchase your product because it’s what they are looking for… you are saying to them I will fix your problem or frustration. Anything else is overkill…

Writing about a more narrow topic (aka sub niche) like I have shown above (with real searches) will be more profitable for you. Instead of having 10 topics in one book, turn those topics into 10 books/info products.

I think where you are going with this is worth perusing, I definitely don’t want to change the subject of this post nor stop you from writing BUT hopefully this helps you direct more focus on your subject matter and titles of each product you come out with (if you want to be a profitable info marketer)

Much luck and success - Pete

Here's a rough quick start. I'm sure some things are missing but some things to get you started.

    On your own site:
    1. Finish your book.
    2. Go read this: 3 Ways to Copyright a Book - wikiHow
    3. Get a domain name. Get the dot com version.
    4. Get a hosting plan.
    5. Decide if you want to build the site yourself or hire a designer.
    6. Decide what payment processor you want to use.
    7. Get an autoresponder
    8. Put up the squeeze page. If you DIY on step 5, it will depend on if you have decided on html or a cms like wordpress on how to get it up.
    9. Create some accounts on some social sites, and start giving out some helpful information on your subject.
10.Decide if you have some funds to promote your ebook. If not, you are going to have to dig around a bit to find your audience and build a following.
    11. Once you "think" you've found your audience and driven them to your sqeeze page, you'll be collecting names/emails. But you'll need to be giving something away to get their emails - ie: "3 ways to get a girl tonight" or something quick and actionable.
    12. Communicate with your list, offer them to purchase your ebook, and find out what it is they really want.

-is it best to have a site to sell a program like this or should I do it without a site ?
Depends on what kind of site you are talking about. Amazon? Or are you referring to submitting your offer through somewhere like Clickbank?

Either way, I'd personally have some kind of site up. Either "about the author" or "dating tips" etc.

Either way, you are going to have to do some promotion for people to find your book. For example, if you put it on Amazon you can't expect people to just find it.

And before you even write it, you'd be wise to gather some actual statistics/info on what the guys are having the most trouble with. This will be useful in writing your copy (for selling) and for making sure you have something that really answers a question and sells.

Yes it's good to sell it multiple times, so build your own list, Advertise, write articles and submit them to as many sites as you can and attract buyers.

Start establishing yourself on dating and relationship issue forums now. Provide credible answers to problems posted. And, then when you have published your relationship/confidence help book, your product will seem like the natural solution.
