How to find independent sales rep?

Hello,

I'm trying to find some independent sales agent (paid with commission only) to sell my web design services but without any success. I give a good percentage so I don't think that's the problem.

I tried with freelancers sites, I could try craiglist maybe. Otherwise I don't really have any idea.

Do you use some sales agents? How did you find them and are you happy with their performance?

Thank you.

David

    • I already made a search on the forum but nearly no result so I doubt that publishing an ad here would be really useful.

If you set things up right you could find success with an affiliate program using a third party like shareasale.com You just have to make sure that phone orders will or can also be tracked. Part of the problem I think you will have is that sales reps have no guarantee you are going to pay them.

If you decide to look into the affiliate program options available, you can really do well if you offer web design solutions for niche markets and then recruit affiliates who already promote to those laser targeted niche markets. For example... find affiliates who promote "how to start your own daycare service" type ebooks and then have them promote your "Daycare Website Design" service. Better yet, partner with the ebook author and have them promote your "Daycare Website Design Service" as an upsell.

Affiliates are the equivalent to having a sales force working on commission.

elance or odesk lets you interview candidates. If you're looking for someone local try out craigslist or kijiji or if you're in usa ebay classifieds

Advertise in metro newspapers, USA Today, and university/college newsletters. The advertising rates are comparatively higher than online sources, but respondents from these publications seem to be of a much higher caliber.

      • Thanks for all your answers and help.

I already tried the freelancer sites but to no avail.

I'm not from the USA (France in fact) so it's a problem for Craiglist but I will ask somebody on Fiverr.

Good idea the affiliate program GuyJoe. In fact I thought to that but didn't want to have this responsibility in case there is a problem with my host but with a third party, yes, why not. Except shareasale is a bit pricey. I have to see other companies.

myob, yes, I plan to also try universities. I'll see how it turns.

Anton, I replied your PM, thank you.
