So I'm using an auto responder, where can I get an email program thats nothing like gmail, aol, yahoo, or anything like that? I am using Aweber and it tells me to use something @mysitename.

PS: this is for a squeeze page and creating an email list.

It does look a bit more professional, to use something like that.

Do you own a domain-name? You could set that up to have an email address like Bob.Whatever (at) your-domain-name.com

(You perhaps own a domain-name, on which you have your squeeze page? Why not just use that?)

Failing that, if you look at "mail.com" you can register all kinds of email addresses there at various different domain-names they own, and might find something that matches your niche, and looks ok? Bear in mind, though, that it's owned by a company called "1and1" and their reputation for service and reliability does apparently leave a little to be desired. I can't vouch for them at all, but the basic service is free.

I used to use mail.com when I was freelancing programming. I used programmer.net

I would definitely suggest you do that ... You will come across with a lot more authority and will build brand credibility a lot quicker ... remember you are the brand after all. I hope this helps

If you have a domain name for your squeeze page, just use that domain name. If you use hotmail or yahoo, then I'm pretty sure aweber will not allow OR the emails you send to your list will show up in the junk folder.

    Hope that helps,

    Mehdi

If you own a domain, then you should have cpanel which you can use to create a POP email account. Then use Eudora or whatever email client to download your emails from the POP server.

I like the free Eudora which allows me to have many personalities, mail boxes, filters, stationery, etc. It is the best email program for me.

As for autoresponder, I just switched from Aweber to one that lets me make some nice monthly passive income and help my business grow too ...and it is more affordable

If you have your own website then you should configure a mailbox on cpanel that be used for autoresponders like aweber or getresponse. You'll be able to access this mailbox from your desktop using any client like outlook express.

You don't have to use a different email, you can use your gmail or whatever you have but just know that the recipient will see your address. Aweber would rather you use an email that is associated with a website. In order to get that you'll need a domain and hosting, Aweber would prefer to avoid personal emails because of the likely hood that it could be associated with a scammer or spammer.
