Hi Everybody,

I have just lost my job

I have heard of people making money online so as i need some sort of income i decided to go searching online. Here I am now. Forum is quite big and I could spend the next couple of months reading it so i thought i would ask and take a little shortcut !.

Is it possible to earn money online and how long will it take me roughly ?

What is the best thing i can do next to make this happen ? What are the best ways to enjoy a long term income online ? best ways/techniques...

I have no real skills apart from a background in sales and a bit of money to invest to set me up if needed.

Thanks for all your help and apologies if these questions have been asked thousands of times before .

Paul, yes it is possible to earn money online. However, it's not going to happen overnight nor is it going to be very easy. It will take time, effort, real dedication and even a bit of cash. My advice to you would be to get a "real job" and come to the warrior forum every chance you get and learn as much as you can before diving into anything. There is some real good information readily available 24/7 right here on the forum. There are some real good people here to learn from. Best of luck!

      Hi Amy,

Thanks for the advice. I plan on getting a job for sure but after reading around here a whole new world has been opened up to me.

I would advise against getting a job, if you want to start a business whether online or off you need to be 100% in.

Follow a online business plan that has worked for others, do not try to re-invent something online you will spend years not making any money. If you stick to a proven plan and it starts working out for you scale it up.

It will take plenty of work and perseverance and dedication to get something rolling online, you may fail many times before something works for you or it might work out for you right away.

          This is very bad advice.

Yes, it seems logical, but as someone who has been unemployed while trying to make IM work, I can tell you from experience, it's VERY bad advice.

Yes, making money online is VERY doable. But 1) it's NOT instant and 2) there's a steep learning curve. It's not hard per se, but the learning curve IS steep. It takes time.

You still need a place to live, groceries, gas in your car, etc. in the meantime.

So you need some sort of income while you learn -- and to finance your IM activities. (No, you can't do it all for free. You can do it frugally -- even cheaply. But NOT free.) Trying to learn IM and actually produce income while you have no other income is incredibly stressful -- and is actually counterproductive. If you do this, the stress will actually sabotage your efforts.

So if you have savings, or can generate income without a job (renting out a room, for example), fine. Otherwise, get a job and conserve your cash. Even a low-paying job which just covers your immediate living expenses will go a long way towards helping you be successful -- and paying for the things you'll need to buy to get going.

If you're serious, a smart approach might be taking a lower-paying job than you might otherwise be able to get if 1) it covers your immediate living expenses and 2) is less demanding than a higher-paying job which leaves you more free time to devote to your IM activities.

Believe me, I've been there. (Unemployed while trying to start an IM biz was NOT fun and nearly impossible once my savings ran out.) Hope this helps!

That's true. It certainly doesn't happen overnight, but it sure does work in the end if you pull in the effort.

    This.

You will probably hear different from others, just be carefully and keep your CC in your pocket until you know what you need. If you are hasty or in dire straights you are almost assured of failure.

Paul, Amazon pays dirt. It is hard to make a living from it unless you have tons of targeted traffic. I suggest something more recurring and steady. It will take time but look for affiliate programs that pays recurring commissions plus some that pay a lump sum (you need a mix).

But the best strategy is to go for something that not only pays recurring but can go viral and actually grow and grow as you invest and work on it....

A couple important things to understand about IM and even about amazon.

        First start with amazon..
Amazon is a perfect model of an online business that "does not" happen overnight, they usually payout (i believe) 45 to 60 days after you made the sale.. ( which is on the longer end of affiliate payouts)

Thats usually a bit long to be seeing a check in the mail for someone starting out..
They also usually pay very small % commissions (less than 10%).. your commissions can grow after you start making lots of sales..

Though I don't mean to discourage you at all.. many people are doing very well as amazon affiliates..

However these people have well developed web assets over an extended period of time that directs that traffic to their offers.

        IM in a nutshell..

        1. Find/Create an offer
        2. Drive (targeted) traffic to that offer
        3. Capture email addresses
        4. Promote offers to those emails.
        5. Build web assets ( sites or email list) that can drive more traffic which you can capture emails and repeat the process

It is so simple, yet this is the main premise behind IM and there are several steps to set it all up.

In actual reality, it is not "that" much work (especially after the money comes rolling in).. however for 95% of newbies it seems to be 5% more work than they are willing to do.

So if you want to be successful online.. then realize that you just need to work 5% more than 95% of the people out there.. if that makes sense

        points of advice..

The first biggest key to being successful online and in the shortest time possible.. is to find methods to drive traffic that work for you.. whether it be free or paid.. and stick to that method and keep driving traffic until you can move on to test more sophisticated ones.

...[Probably The biggest key to building a successful and "sustainable" business online is to build an email list of targeted customers]

Setup squeeze page with a giveaway and send traffic to products from either JVzoo or Warriorplus offers with have instant payouts.

        Hope that can help some.

    Hi, Paul...
sorry to hear the sad news :< but i'm sure you will get over the bad time...

    replying your question...
yes it's very possible to make online income..

as for starter, you can try to offer your service to this forum...
it doesn't matter what your skill, as long as it helps people...
as for me, i offer design skill for the first to WF, and it did couple hundred dollar in the first month :> enough for me to stay alive lol

the other thing that you might want to try is fiverr...
try to be creative creating a gig that might interest people... even IF (the worst posibblility ... lol) you don't have any skill that can be offered, your unique/creative idea might just make dollars there :>

in this kind of situation, even a $5 dollar can mean something, right? :>

hope this help, and i hope you get out of your urgent situation as soon as possible :>

    Warm regards,
    hendy AUgust

Clarity is a HUGE part of IM success. I hope this post brings some clarity. It's so simple when you know it -- and darn difficult when you don't! I owe my mentors a world of thanks for bringing this clarity.

IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:

    1. Products
    2. Services

    That's it!

And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:

    Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page

That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)

But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?

A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:

    1. Membership-based model

A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.

There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.

    2. Product-based model

Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.

Affiliate marketing falls under both models. You can choose to market either products or services as an affiliate.

    3. Service-based model

Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.

However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.

What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)

The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:

    Pick just ONE!

    1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)

    2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)

    3. Pick ONE business model.

Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS! (And stop buying any info not related to your niche and target market, period!)

    F -- Follow
    O -- One
    C -- Course
    U -- Until
    S -- Successful

And remember: build a list, Build a List, BUILD A LIST!

In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!

Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.

If you DON'T have a solid plan or system, THAT'S when it's hard. A good system will shave YEARS (and save you big $$$) off of your learning curve

That's why I recommend investing in at least one good, comprehensive IM course (or mentor who will give you such a system) instead of jumping from one $37 e-book to the next. A lot of people here complain about not being able to make any money. But neither are they willing to invest in their business. (Buying a random bunch of $37 e-books doesn't count.)

The best thing I ever did was invest in a comprehensive IM course aimed at REAL business owners, not just other IM wannabes. Yes it was $1500. (It's no longer available.) But it was truly some of the best A-Z IM info I ever bought. Everything else I've learned (from the $37 e-books) since has simply been plugged into this system.

Get a solid plan or system and then work the plan!

    Hope this helps!

This is very good advice and recommendations. The only other things I would suggest are:

      • Avoid being sucked into bright shiny objects i.e. software, systems, programmes - you'll waste years chasing after same and lots of $$$ in the process. Every man and his dog promote their stuff is the answer to the secret of the holy grail or whatever.
      • Avoid being sucked into the sales pages and they have the secret to all your dreams happening at once.
      • Remember if they promise thousands of $$$$ it's most likely way too good to be true. Remember they're selling their product and trying to make you believe they have the answer/s. The best answers are the one you devise for yourself, based on full and complete research and implemented gradually over time. Start small and then expand.
      • If you chase after the $$$ they will elude you. Chase after providing top notch services/products, building positive relationships with your customers and then the $$$ will flow.
      • Before you buy anything - research, research, research and then research some more. Keep your credit card firmly in your wallet and leave it there. Forget the numbers on the credit card as it's too easy to simply buy impulsively, hoping the next thing that's promoted as the best thing since sliced bread will do the trick, make the $$$ yaddy, yaddy, yadda.
      • Maybe take out membership to the Warrior Room - this way you will find lots of tools and information all in 1 place and not have to search through each forum thread and either become totally confused or highly distracted.
      • As Michelle said - decide exactly what you want to do, then focus on this until successful.
      • As another respondent said - get a day job for the time being and do your research in your off hours.
      • However remember - success is only a decision away. Make informed decisions, with your head, rather than your emotions.
      • Decide what you're good at or what you're interested in or really know and then become the expert in this. People love people who are experts they can trust.
      • Remember to build trust first and foremost. People buy from people they believe they can trust. Online trust is so important these days.
      • Be a IM person with honesty and integrity. If you are an expert ensure you're honest and integral in all your dealings.
      • If you provide sh....y services or information then expect to be dealt with by people voting with their feet (or as in the case of online with the click of their mouse - away from your website etc.)
      • Fivver or fourerr .com are good websites to promote a service that you'd like to give. It's free to join and you can start small, build a solid reputation and continue to provide quality service and you'll start making some money. However be warned, if you scam or don't deliver you'll pay for it big time including potentially having your account banned.
      • I guess it comes down to what you're interested in. Be aware that IM can take you in many different directions, is full of twists and turns and you can be easily meandering down a garden path for months, even years on end.
      • Be focused. Plan what you want to do. Research how you will get there and what resources you will require, including if using outsourcers - i.e. from either Fiverr or Fourerr .com sites etc.
      • Remember Rome wasn't built in a day. Be there for the long haul.
      • Test, test and retest what you're doing to ensure that it's working. If it isn't either decide to tweak, wait a wee while longer or cease.
      • Remember to stop breathe, and smell the roses. Take decent breaks so you can clear your head and re-energise.
Hope some of these suggestions assist. Good luck with your endeavours.

      Hi Paul,

You just received great advises and online opportunity ideas. Now it's your decision which way should you go for. With so many options, you might be distracted as such I agree with everyone that FOCUS is very important.

Right now, you have 2 general options, go for "Online Job" or "Online Business".

When you go for online job, use what you have right now - Skill on Sales. In this way, there is no learning curve for you and can immediately apply it. WF is one source to get a job, check out "Wanted - Members Looking To Hire You" section. Or you may want to visit Odesk and Elance for other job opportunities.

While if you go with "online business", this is a high learning curve, and definitely, you will have to go through with a lot of challenges before you get the result.

This maybe a new journey for you, but I do believe you'll get through with it. I wish you the best on whatever decision you will make.

    Great post, Michelle

But you don't need to fork out $1,500 in order to succeed though. There are cheaper, and I dare say, better, alternatives if you sniff around.

I really hate those > $1,000 guru courses

Ok, maybe hate is too strong a work, I truly dislike them, LOL

I just gave that as an example of what I've done. (And I've spent A LOT more than that!) I'm not suggesting someone needs to spend $1500 to succeed.

I AM saying that I STRONGLY recommend buying a comprehensive, A-Z IM course. One mentor I learned from put it best: "Spend good money on your education and build your business on the cheap." (Paraphrased.) Excellent advice!

Too many Warriors advocate "Learn for free!" That's a bad idea. What they fail to take into account is WHY you should buy good training: speed and clarity. You generally will spend a lot more than whatever you spend on a good course trying to learn "for free." (Or being "smart" by buying $7 ebooks. But since you don't get what you need from that $7, you buy another, and another and... It never ends and you're still frustrated and no closer to where you want to be. It's called being penny-wise and pound-foolish.)

The WF and Google are good resources. But they are no substitute for a comprehensive, step-by-step course. And the best ones offer some sort of limited coaching, so you get the best of both worlds.

The WF and Google will give you the pieces of the puzzle -- sort of. They DO NOT tell you how all of the puzzle pieces fit together and interact.

I paid $1500 for that initial course. I've since spent much more than that on other courses and coaching. Money well-spent!

But you can get started for a lot less. There are lots of good recommendations here. I've never bought it, but I think Chris Farrell's membership site is something like $37/mo. Very low cost!

The point is to buy a comprehensive training program. DON'T be cheap and try to piece it together yourself, one $7 e-book at a time. I see too many e-books promoting a single marketing METHOD and newbies don't realize they need a foundation, to understand basic business models and how the basic process works first. So they DON'T get what they need in a single e-book and are still just as clueless.

Sorry to hear about your job my friend,

I have been a member of Chris Farrell for a few years now, and I have to say, I would still be getting nowhere in this business if it wasn't for Chris.

Great information (step by step guides) from start to finish of an on-line business.

        .....BUT.....

        As michelle noted,

This doesn't happen over night... It does take time to learn, and it wont be learnt in a week or two.

        And....

You do need to spend some money to get set up. The essentials being :

        1) A Domain Name - Between $5-10 per YEAR !!
        2) A hosting account - Around $10 per month !!
        3) An Autoresponder account - Around $19 per month !!

My advice to you would be,

Find yourself a day job to pay for your daily needs, and if you are serious about having on online business, work hard at it in your spare time and give it at least 6-12 months to be seeing sufficient results (i.e making your first sale).

This is such good advice, and I agree completely. As someone who is still learning, (and aren't we all? ) I personally know there is a lot of great information and software out there....and some that is less good, shall we say. It is hard to see which one is good and the rest of them, as some can make inflated claims sometimes. It is refreshing when I find one I cm able to trust properly. When you find such people and companies you can trust you are likely to go back again and buy more from them.

Finding the one that tells you what to know is hard at first, because you don't know what you don't know. It is a steep learning curve, and because of that some people give up, and that is what you should never do.The rewards are tremendous and will give you peace of mind and a long term income f you do it right.

I have equated the online marketing as doing another university degree,( and that is not to put you off in any way) The results of the work and study will eclipse the results from most university degree employer results at any time. There is work to do and it isn't quick however.
As Nightengale and jessicawalton mentions the basics are actually simple:

Find a product or service ( it could be an affiliate or your own product) , then make a website with autoresponder to collect names, have a downloadable products ( so you don't need to pack and ship it) and then drive traffic to the site. Have a series of other higher priced offers to sell them later in the funnel.Collect money. Rinse and repeat...

That is the basics, and I am sure many realise the steps there involve a lot of learning from standing start, just making a simple squeeze page or WP site is a lot of learning.

There are some good tools to make life easier in this respect I have stumbled across, however, and I have been mightily impressed with the ease of use, the look and the thought gone into the way they are used. I have actually written a short article about this on Friday when you would like to read it. Take a look here now.

Sorry that you lost your job. You should start out on Ebay and sell things there. Once you master that and learn how to actually "run" an online business... create your own site (if you want to) and sell items at higher prices and things. But Ebay will get you some cash fast. I'm confident that you have valuable items in your house that you don't use. List them on ebay.

Take some time looking at ways to make money then stick to it. Also take time to look in the forums there's plenty of useful information. If I personally were in your shoes, i'd get courses, that would boost your skills, knowlege, and confidence. Just rember there's no such thing as a big green button that you puch that will give you money it all comes after hard work. Good Luck!

Unequivocally start your internet marketing journey by getting a job, anyone who tells you otherwise is speaking more from theory than wisdom. By far arguably the #1 mistake people make when getting into business for themselves is giving up their primary stable source of income too early, the second is not committing themselves to and deeply pursuing mastery of business (making profit and building shareholder value, which is at the heart of sustainability of the venture).

Pursuing making money through an online business (or any sort of business) is a great path that long term can buy incredible freedom, but do NOT do it when you need money. The most expensive thing you'll ever do is learn and you need to be able to pay for the learning curve, which isn't an option when you're struggling just to eat.

Well put, this is sound advice right here. Jumping into IM doesn't stop the bills from coming, personal needs don't just take care of themselves and responsibilities certainly do not cease to exist.

Anyone who's been desperate and tried to make money quickly online knows how frustrating it can be, if not impossible especially for newbies. So you definitely don't want to be in panic mode if you want to do the IM thing right, you want to be in a position where you can learn IM without the pressures of trying to achieve instant results. Get a way of paying for all your other responsibilities and learn IM patiently until you get something that works consistently.

Paul, you should definitely try to get a new offline job, at least a part time one until you figure this "online business" stuff. Depending on how fast you're willing to learn, it could take months before actually seeing any income trickling in from your online efforts.

Also, the forum has a search function where you can query specific terms, like Adsense or Amazon etc. and read specific threads on each topic.

Good luck on your new journey.

Hi Paul... Sorry to hear about your job... Well it's a pretty long discussion but I will try to make that short and cover in this one reply...

Is it possible to earn money online and how long will it take me roughly ?

It is possible to make money online... The thing that matters is your approach and consistency to learn and take action... People who hate to learn but earn money also face losses and people who read alot and take no action have the same story...

Though there is much hype around but as far as I have found is that there is no get rich quick scheme in this field... It's like the real business but it's online... Though you don't have to invest much like you do in physical business... When you will start you will begin from earning low and then gradually scale up to higher earnings... This is what I have found with my experience...

What is the best thing i can do next to make this happen ? What are the best ways to enjoy a long term income online ? best ways/techniques...

The best thing is all what you can do the best or how better and how fast you are prepared to learn it... However there are many things to start with, let me give you few options here...

    eBay Selling
Affiliate Marketing (It's a Deep Sea which means that around every good company has affiliate option so you can look around what best suits you and your skills, you can go with amazon, web hosting providers and alot of other direct sellers)
    Drop Shipping
Freelancing (There are many platforms with which you can make this happen like oDesk, Freelancer, Elance etc..)
Adsense (Adsense provides a referral program with which you make traffic sucking websites and they pay you cost per click or cost per impression)
Fiverr Seller (If you are creative then try giving it a shot, fiverr selling sometimes turns into $xxxx per month)

I have no real skills apart from a background in sales and a bit of money to invest to set me up if needed.

I don't know that you have an experience in direct sales (phone sales) or what but if you got experience in (phone sales) you can try cold calling and generate leads... That can be a good business... You will find many projects to do on freelancing websites like oDesk, Freelancer etc... And you can find the projects to generate leads by searching on Google...

I tried my best to give you the explained answer however if you feel something is left you can always reply this thread, send me a pm or can add me on skype...

I wish you Good Luck and a huge success in your career....

    Best Regards
    Hassan

Hey Paul...I'm a newbie too. I've lost my job a couple of times over the last 6 years or so and now I just want extra income and perhaps a means to retire one day or work for myself. This internet marketing stuff can be very overwhelming. I don't think it's impossible but like everything else it will take work....probably a lot of work.

Not having a lot of capital to put out, I started using this guy named Steve Weber to mentor me. I don't work for the guy or anything like that but it's more like something that I could afford that I hoped to learn the basics from. He was also up front in his free videos about this being somewhat difficult. I appreciated the honesty.

He only charges $37 a month and we communicate through e-mail. He has a bunch of videos that go over the basic stuff that you will need to know and he will critique your efforts through the e-mails. I've learned quite a bit of stuff that I never would have known otherwise so for me it was worth it. He'll take you through web hosting, wordpress, SEO stuff, internal linking, internal optimization, external optimization, etc., etc. Anything he tells me that I'm unsure about I go to the forums and see what others are saying. So far he's been pretty much spot on.

The only complaint that I have is that sometimes he's a little slow to get back to you with the e-mail. I get a million e-mails myself so I know that sometimes they get lost in the shuffle but I usually just send a reminder and he will respond. Other than that I think it's been worth the $37 a month.

Anyway...I saw your post and I thought I would give my experience so far given that we both just started this thing.

    Good luck,
    Tony

      Paul,

      Email Marketing

One of the most important tools any online business needs is an Email Marketing Software best known as an Auto-responder. Having an Email marketing campaign set up correctly will do wonders for your business. Once set up this will automate follow-up emails as required to build relationships with your customers. Building a quality responsive list is like having your very own traffic source that you can use as and when needed for your business. The best auto responder to use is Get Response or Aweber. You can use free email marketing software but once you reach a list of 100 or 200 you will be required to upgrade at a cost and the are very poor quality. So I do Recommend get Response or Aweber as building squeeze pages and sign up forms are so easy.

      Setting up a campaign

When you have signed up to an Email marketing software you will want to set up a campaign. I find the best way to do this is to create a newsletter first. Your newsletter should be about you as an individual or company, what services you provide and what you will be providing in your campaign. You can add extra but this is a minimum. Now you have your newsletter set it up in your auto responder to be sent when your customer first subscribe on your list. It's best to only email your list maybe 3/4 times a week don't send offer after offer as we all hate spam and your customer may unsubscribe from your list.

      Setting up a squeeze page

A squeeze page is where your customer will enter there email address. The squeeze page is very important as it is make or break point. You want your customer to look at it see what you have to offer and want to enter there email. This is why Get Response/Aweber is best for Email Marketing as you can create quality squeeze pages with minimum effort. Some free auto responders don't have this option so can be confusing if you don't know much about HTML. Aweber makes this easy with simple drag and drop editing so you can build your squeeze page to how you like it with ease.

      Getting subscribers on your list

The best way to get subscribers on your list is through solo ads. Basically solo ads is someone sending out an email to their list with your offer for you at a cost. Solo ads are cheap enough and a great way to get targeted traffic or subscribers to your squeeze page and once you have built a list of 300+ subscribers you can swap solo ads with someone of the same size list for free. So I really recommend solo ads. Safe-Swaps is one of the main sites for solo ads I would check it out.

      Conclusion

Building an Email list is the most important thing you can do to be a success online. You are not only building an email list your building your own traffic system. Treat this traffic like your personnel friend and you will have a very powerful tool to get you to success. With your own email list you can send out offers, send links to your blogs/websites or anyone else's links if you like when you have built a big enough list you can sell solo adds your self for another income stream. The sky really is the limit with Email Marketing.

Hope This Helps and good luck this is were your journey and the fun begins

As i see, you said that your skill is in "Sales". The best you can do is start creating some videos of you explaining different sales tips or real case studies of how you were able to sell.

Host all these videos on youtube and monetize it with adsense for videos.

Create a minimum of 50 videos if you want to see some real results.

You would have to do some onpage optimization correctly and share it with all your friends. If it is valuable, you can see viral traffic coming in. Spread it on youtube, facebook and twitter.

If you need any advanced methods, contact me once you have done this

Man I know what that feels like....to all of a sudden lose a source of income.

However I actually think that you have a bit of an advantage believe it or not.

Here's something interesting about those who are in a desperate situation...they tend to go ALL OUT to get out of that situation much more so than someone who has a semi steady job.

There are many stories on the internet of people in a crappy situation who turned it around by just producing and producing and taking an insane amount of action.

If you have a background in sales, you are in good shape....because you know what makes you money in this industry?

    Selling stuff!

Literally....the only way that you make money is through people buying stuff, either directly from you or through your affiliate link.

Most aspiring internet marketers get so completely hung up in the technical stuff....when in reality that is not what makes you money.

Communication is. Influence is. SALES is.

You can absolutely 100% do this....because many others have and are.

And once you get through this situation.....you have an incredible story you can really build your business on!

So get out there and get started!

    Hey Paul,

First of all, I'm really sorry to hear that. Real sorry.

Second of all, there's no 'time limit' you can place on full-time income. I'm not even close to a full-time yet (I'm just at $20-30 per day) but from my limited experience I can tell you that you have to do 3 things:

    1. Pick something to do: affiliate marketing, your own products, domain flipping, freelancing, whatever.
    2. Get really, really, really, really, really, really good at it.
    3. Monetize.

If you ever need help, there are tons of people here on WF just waiting for your Qs.

    Cheers & All the best,

P.S. I'm no expert. Don't listen to me. Listen to all the other people who actually make full-time incomes online .

The online world is nothing different from the real world. When you choose IM (Internet Marketing) you are essentially altering your career path. To take on a new career, you have to spend some time doing the learning. This is why there is no real way to make instant cash, unless you can provide services that are actually useful in the online world.

Similarly, what do you do when you lose your job?

You start looking for other jobs, because let's face it nobody can do anything worth sh*t when the bills are unpaid, the debt is piling and the fridge is empty.

The best advice I can give you is, sit down and develop two separate plans; the short term plan and the long term plan. Make a plan you to get food on your table and develop a strategy on how to keep doing for the long term. Think long and hard about IM. Is it something that you see yourself doing instead of your real job? Or is it just your "rebound" career path?

    Best of luck!!

It's not impossible to make money online, even from day one, but it is not really worth it, I'm talking about PTC sites like Neobux, and sites where you can do some activities for cash like fill out surveys, read emails, typing etc... I assume you don't have a lot of money to invest, so I would suggest you buy a good guide which use a system requiring no investment, and stick to it. You can check out the WSO section and read the reviews.

The first question is impossible to answer without knowing a lot more about what you bring to the table for potential customers along with your ability and knowledge to learn the ropes online.

Yes, there are literally thousands of threads just like this one. You might benefit by doing a search.

I'd strongly suggest you get back into the job marketplace and find work because the learning and earning curve is very steep and can take months, and more often years for some people to earning enough to live on.

Don't spend anything more than hosting and a few domains until you have a successful method. You'll learn much better from free advice in this forum than by paying for IM courses (although a few of them are good), and you'll probably have to test things, ask questions, and learn a bunch of stuff before you have a reliable method working.

When you've found a method which reliably makes you money, THEN carefully invest in outsourcing and up-scaling, testing all your assumptions as you do so!

The most reliable IM method I know is Amazon affiliate work. It won't be the quickest income and might not be the most money you can make per hour, but if you just do honest product-reports based on what buyers experience, and save them time by doing the in-depth research and comparison for them, you will make money. So that's a good one to start with (although you can always combine it with some of the other great affiliate programs out there).

You can even do the whole thing for free, although if you're willing to spend a little on hosting and a domain, you'll get more income for the same content.

From my point of view, do not give up on looking for a new job. Meanwhile, you can start doing some online work. You have experience in sales field, so you should know better how to sell you services. Yes, at first it may seem difficult, but you cannot win a lot of money over night, unless you win the lottery or win a poker game. But something is always better than nothing, even if that does not mean much.
