How to Record LiveStream etc. without background Noise

Hi,

I am not a pro when it comes to recording webinars..etc via video...I am using screen cast o matic and when ever I record it there is a ton of background noise....Does any one know how to make the sound come out clean and sound professional.

    I use the Audio-Technica AT2020 USB Condenser USB Microphone. Look it up on Amazon. It's expensive, but it's amazing. It cuts out all background noise and sounds awesome.

    Hi Jenna, im just looking at some equipment for my son to set up a home studio, There is an inexpensive bit of kit called a USB AUDIO INTERFACE. This sits between you and the laptop. Your mic plugs right into it and improves the quality of your recording (along with the mic) and converts your recording from analogue to digital

      I think the replies so far might be answering the wrong question

      It sounds to me like Jenna wants to record someone else's webinar for future study.

      Are you saying that the recording has more background noise than the original web stream?

      If you're using a computer with a built-in mic, your screen recording software might give you a choice of recording your computer's audio, the built-in mic, or both. If so, make sure you're only recording your computer's audio and NOT the built-in mic.

      If both the recording and the original web stream have the same background noise, you can try using the free Audacity audio editing software with one of its noise removal filters.

    You can try this free programme called SMRecorder.
    The one you using has a problem with browser, it can capture any static noise and that's why you getting a lot of background noise after recording the webinar.
