Is it possible to sell products outside of your own niche?

Hey guys,

As above, do you all think it's possible to sell products that aren't directly about your niche?

More specifically, selling generic products, like clothes, gadgets, books etc.

So say you blog about fitness, but your main aim is to sell clothes, cause you think it captures their demographic.

What do you all think?

Edit: Just wanted to add on. I think most online shops with blogs are just basically writing about their new promos or discounts. It doesn't really add real value. Something to tap into eh?

These sorts of questions will only get you opinions, NOT answers. This sort of question can only be answered with solid market data, you either have to RESEARCH the market to find the answer.

    OR

You have to do real live TESTS in that market to determine the answer for yourself.

Asking people for their opinions is worthless.

Are you interested in learning more about how to do this research?

OK I misread the top post sorry about that.

YES YOU CAN DO THIS and it's called proximity marketing.

Ask yourself: "What other things will my people buy? What other things are they already buying? What other things would they buy if they knew about them?"

Your customers are buying stuff BEFORE and AFTER they buy from you, If you offered them that stuff and gave them a good offer... they would buy it from you. Hell they SHOULD buy it from you because YOU care about their best interests more than anyone else they buy from. (that should be the goal anyways...)

So proximity marketing, check it out online! Educate your brain!
