How to advertise this business??

Hello warriors! My name is Micheal and my uncle and I
have decided to start a trash out business.
For most of you out there whom do not know what a
trash out business is let me explain, A trash out business
is where an indivisual or group go and charge Realestate agents
or offices, companies etc...to maintain and clean out foreclosure
properties. I printed out hundreds of fliers at my local Office Max
and am going first thing in the morning to dump them at the realestate office everywhere. But i was wondering if any of you lovely members can give me
any suggestions on how to better advertise my business?? please.

Thank you

website + video + SEO + PPC = successful trash out business.

You can find heaps of people here to build you a site for an affordable price. Then buy a domain for a few bucks, get hosting and then market your site with some funny/creative videos PPC & SEO. And you should be right.

Also offer some guarantees and testimonials. Do some free jobs at the start to get your name out. It will come at a cost but its the best way to get your first fe customers, networks, testimonials and business experience. And then also consider advertising on the real estate sites.

My first suggestion for your type of service is going back to grassroots! Lookup local real estate managment companies and ask who does their service. Online classified ads are another route but be weary of the ones just looking to capure your email. Craigslist under small business ads. I can help you setup a free website if you like. There are also many companies you can buy leads from in your area. Basically Michael, use your imagination! Offer family and friends a percentage for everyone they send your way. Hope this help a little!

Read legal notices of foreclosure in local newspapers and contact the lawyers handling them. I've had a lot of success buying foreclosures this way. I'd bet you can get a lot of business this way as well.

Use Google's geo targeting advertising. Put ads in your local newspaper. Post classified ads on different relevant forums, discussion groups and message boards. Don't forget to include article writing in relevant and industry journals or magazine.

Your idea of distributing flyers to real estate offices is a good start. Actually speaking with them would be another step. Unless the office is working on a foreclosure that needs cleaning out right at that moment, your flyer is likely to end up in the trash or a file cabinet.

Talking to the lawyers is another excellent suggestion.

      Here's another one...

Talk to the REO officer at your local banks. (For those unfamiliar with the term, REO stands for Real Estate Owned. Properties the bank ends up owning because of loan defaults.)

If your area has foreclosure investment groups, there's another source. (Check meetup.com to see if there are any local groups listed.)

Cover those bases, and you should pick up initial clients. Do a great job at a good price, and you will probably get enough business to not worry about advertising. Just work the referrals.

If you have a hard time getting to the person who could hire you, at least get their name and title. Follow up your visit with a one-off, personal letter with the benefits of your service over other options. Include a fax-back form so they can request a quote or a meeting.

Once you have some income coming in, then you can look at the website/seo stuff. You'll also have a better feel for what people will respond to if you decide to try PPC or other paid advertising.

Using a website (a blog may be better) may work better for the selling portion of your business. It seems to me that it would be easier to find the properties offline (re agents, banks, courthouse, etc), then put up a blog that has information about how to buy foreclosed property as well as information about your local area. If you have a lot of good info, people will go to the blog to do research, and you can lead them into a sale. (maybe sell some ebooks, too).

This would also be a good subject for some press releases, since there is always newsworthy info and it is a subject that is of great interest to the press at this time.

Maybe you could get some interviews on local radio, or buy a segment on a local station to put on your own show, giving tips and advice and answering questions from listeners. I don't think it is that expensive.

You are doing the right thing with the fliers - one method
is to go to the real-estate offices and ask if you can stuff the
    mailboxes of the individual agents.

A friend of mine built a thriving maintenance painting and repair
    business this way.

As John McCabe says, you need speak to these people too -
a simple phone conversation will help people remember you
and connect your fliers to your (hopefully) pleasant and
helpful phone demeanor. Because a lot of construction
guys are uncouth brutes if you conduct your business with
a sensitivity to your image you can win real fans.

My friend told me once "Loren, you can go in and do a
mediocre job but if you're well-groomed, polite, and
clean-up thoroughly they will love the work. You can
go in and do the most amazing work but if you are
sloppy, rude, or leave the slightest mess they won't
see the quality of the work,"

You are in the EXPERIENCE business.

I was in the trades for years - and I sometimes would leave
a mess overnight and come back to finish the next day -
but I always asked if it was okay with the owner or tenant
first. People are really cool if you ask.
