    I am!
In over a year though, I''ve only made a little less than $500. Pretty sad, huh?
I do Fiverr gigs right now. I'm trying to branch out my services; we'll see how that goes. Interesting thread; I look forward to the other answers!

I think by doing Fiverr gigs you are really limiting yourself. How many gigs do you have to keep doing in order to succeed? How much time does that take? Of course you could automate it (You would have to), but there are better ways to make money online than to do Fiverr gigs.

Naturally, I do not expect to make any sort of full-time income off Fiverr itself; I'm trying to make my way as a freelancer. Fiverr is a great way to get your feet wet, and once you get some positive reviews in, your account can really pick up speeds.
I'm shooting for about $50 a day (not JUST from Fiverr) kind of income. That would take 13 gigs per day. As I get better rankings, I plan to raise my prices and thus shortening the workload for the same money.

Information overload is huge. This is why I don't check my email for weeks upon end and why I don't Facebook or use Twitter. Who has time for all that nonsense?

Once you decide what you are going to do and then take action you are 90% of the way there.

A simple plan is best because internet marketing really is not that complicated. In fact it is simple. No sense it making it seem any harder than it is.

        Good advice.

Just going to add on my thoughts to this:

'Simple" and "Easy" are entirely different things.

No matter which direction you choose, you can pretty much to expect to work extremely hard in the beginning.

Why? Because you don't know what you are doing yet.

Once you have gone out there, taken a bunch of action and seen for yourself some things that do and do not work, you will be able to control your actions to get specific results.

Until then you just have to go all out like a crazy person taking action until you get a result.

Understand this: there is no perfect, methodical, step by step process to make this stuff work.

Its about developing new skillsets and having the guts and courage to keep going in the face of initial failure and discouragement.

        Just my 2 cents.

I suffered from that as well for a long time. I was all over the damn place, PPC, SEO, Videos, Niche sites, forums, articles, CPM,. I pretty much tried to do everything at once, more than listed above that's for sure :p

I now have multiple blog networks, 150+ active sites In them, all with PR behind them, and can pretty much rank what I'm targeting after a little research. After focusing on one thing (for the most part), I stuck with It, and the money started coming In.

As for how much I earn, that's no ones business, and you shouldn't let your earnings be anyone's business/public.

So far I have made five times as much as last year and the year before that when I really got started I made double my regular job salary the first year. The problem is I want to go so far that even though I am getting ridiculous growth, I am always productively paranoid about what could happen in the future. My only point in earning money is to build systems and share information that can help other people grow the love, faith, and inspiration in their life. I come to these forums to help keep some perspective since what I want to do is so ridiculously challenging that it is hard to keep in mind I am doing good. If you were walking a 30,000 mile journey, getting excited about the first 300 miles might be difficult!

      Jane....

Your writing skills are very valuable. I would bet you're just looking in the wrong places and ending up with too many lowball offers. Check out John Coutts WSO as there is some great advice to get higher paying customers. Also, have you looked into possibly publishing ebooks online as standalones products or as Kindle ebooks? A lot of content writers are on that path.

    Ok let me clerify here:

Making money online is SUPER easy. Anyone can do it. In fact Ill wager $1000 that I can find a way for anyone in the world to make money online

(provided they are litterate, have a computer, are not under 18 years old, are not blind, have fingers and dont have a phobia of computers or other unusual things..) .. had to put that in there because I just knew people would start calling me on the 'anyone' claim.

The point is though that really anyone (ok just about) can make money. Now making a living thats something different. To answer that one though, yes I make my living online, and have for a few years.

I have just started making money recently. One of the reasons is that I "burned my ships". By that I mean, I did away with all those things that cause me distractions and I focus on my online business. Also, I joined a team that gives me support and trainings which have made it easier for me. And the programs I joined are reliable and pay good commissions.

For real? Forex? I can't believe I just read that. Setting that aside...

$500 in your first year is basically where I was when I started. Just keep at it. $500 will turn into $1000, then you will learn how to scale and make big money. Just keep at it.

I have made money online through email offers from CPA. I used craigs list, backpage but sad part is you can only do 2 advts per day on craigs. I understand we can do e-books and promote your links inside craigs list but yet to try it out. Max bounty is a good CPA company that I can recommend for getting good offers and then marketing it out. As far as making money online still part time. Working on it to make it full time.

I'm making serious strides now. I was being held back by the initial time constraints that setting up an affiliate site pose. Now however I have changed track and decided to make my own product and approach the market that way.

In the past 3 weeks I have got further along the line towards real profit than I have in the past 3 months. A combination of focus and the decision to get a mentor have turned my life around.

Best of all when I blog now I am blogging about my own personal story which is far more inspiring and easy to do than when you are blogging about someones product or a niche you are unfamiliar with.

The same goes for being present in forums. I enjoy the banter and the telling of my story.

If you want to see what I mean and follow my progress check out my blog. See how I plan to make enough money to leave the slave cycle and watch me bring others along for the ride.

    Hey Guys,
I am one of the 98% that have sat on the fence... dangled they're toe in the water... sat on the fence, and then been obliterated by the confusing amount of info coming in from emails and fascebook... and then sat on the fence some more....
I sppose I would really need your help guys in focussing on 1 thing to generate a decent income online.
Originally I wanted to earn around $7k for January 2014, i figured, I could pay for and fund an online course and could propel my family to a better life and provide a decent backdrop of cash to earn more..... all through the internet....
Then i started looking into all the promises you get from every 'guru's email and squeeze page and realised this was utter garbage....
so now im here, with a load of information of what to do...(build a list, create a squeeze page, build an webpage, use forex trading...etc etc) and im completly baffled on what to do....
So.... my question is this.....any ideas on how to quicly generate a good residual income on a low budget...(around $50-$60)??...any step by step advice??
All advice would be gratefully recieved.
    Thanks BarnesyIM

You're certainly not alone mate. There are so many people in your (and to a degree my) position. I have decided to get a mentor, that is where my investment went.

From there I have been guided into researching and creating an information product. I am nearly finished with it now it is an ebook and a video tutorial series.

Once this is completed I will use the ebook as a 'hook' to build a list. The video package I'm still undecided over either - One Time Offer or the basis of a membership site. Probably a OTO. Which will create a secondary 'paid' list'.

After that I will automate the system and begin work on traffic generation.

The tip for you I think is to stop opening emails and start thinking about what you can sell. After all if you don't sell anything you won't make any money.

Once you've worked out what you are going to sell (is there a market? Where and who is that market?) you need to work out how you are going to sell it to the market.

But before you even get there you need to find something to sell.

I am blogging about my own journey through this process. Feel free to stop by. Hope that helps a little. I wish you great luck.

In 1.5 years I quit my day job.

In the last year made shift from 4 figure months to 5 figures.

The big shift for me was simple.

Find top 5 revenue producing items to do daily that require least amount of time.

Write that down. Perform daily 365 days a year even on holiday.

    Consistency pays.

Information overload is one of the largest pitfalls along with finding yourself always chasing the newest shiny object opportunity.

For years I jumped from one opportunity to the next, not really succeeding at any of them. Once I threw away all the distractions and focused on a single opportunity, I started doing well.
