So nearly 20% of the people on your list were emailed a hosting offer but 2 signed up because the rest are happy with their current hosting. If we go by that logic and apply it to the rest of your list, you're looking at approximately 4-6 more signups out of the remaining 35k clients.

Doesn't really look like a very valuable list to me, not from a hosting viewpoint.

Make a poll and email it to the customers.
What online services are you NOT happy with?
    Webhosting
    Domain provider
    Seo
    etc
    etc
    etc

    Once you get results.

    Market... or something like that.

Im only new so i dont know alot but it was just an idea that came to me

That's an awesome idea, Scott. If I had a list as big, that's what I would do.

You can't use those services anyway, they will not let you import lists like that into their system. You need a standalone system like Pommo installed o your own host. And then you have to watch out for limits your host may have in place.

To rally make any money on these lists, you need to segment them to know what specific kind of products or services they want or mail them general interest offers. Or mail them something free for signup and then you will have them on your own list.

Well, here's the deal, you have 55k list, but the only thing they all have in common is they're hosting with you. I'd market to them like others have said, but I'd promote more general services that are online related like online security, ringcentral, reputation management, maybe even infographic design.

Is this a list from your own hosting company that you closed or did you buy the list?

If you bought the list, I wouldn't even consider using it for anything because there's a very good chance it came from an exploited WHMCS installation - which can get you into some serious trouble.

Probably either an exploited WHMCS OR the list from the spam emails floating around about an EIG list...
