Advice For Gaining Traffic To A New Blog

Hello Guys,
I have a new blog with the wordpress free design which I am writing an article for every other day. What is your guys attack for gaining traffic.

  • Hey thats awesome buddy! I would definitely recommend you do some killer On-Page and Off-page SEO (Title, Meta, H1 Tags) and build QUALITY backlinks leading to pages within your website (Not Homepage) and do Blog Comments

    • I like the more personal approach so I join forums and blogs to get to know people, develop trust and point them to my site either through a signature, links or directly messaging them.

      I checked out your site and one place that you may find interesting is Blogging Friends where you can meet others in your niche. I recently joined this forum and can say they are also very encouraging to be around with.

      Keep this in mind...your traffic will either be your readers, clients, jv partners or all three. Invite those who will grow you and that you can add value to.

  • I would increase your article count per day if possible. Hire someone if you have to.

    Building real, high-value organic content will help grow your business long term.

    Far too many people focus on short term traffic boosting strategies, which may be great (now) - but definitely isn't a long-term business builder.

  • In order of the time it takes to acquire traffic, from least to most time:

    PPC > Social > Forums > SEO
  • For quick, I recommend Forum Marketing and Signature Marketing.
  • I always suggest proper SEO from the start for long term results as well.

    • I'd suggest you focus on natural SEO from the beginning. You can use a free plugin - Wordpress SEO by Yoast to do the online SEO and a site called dropmylink.com for the offline SEO. Social Bookmarking is super helpful as well!
      Work on your Social Media profiles on sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Stumble Upon, Pinterest etc - these sites bring me half of my entire traffic.
      You can also submit your articles to Reddit - it can give a good boost!

  • Definitely get into Forum Marketing, and also a brief video on youtube about your blog and what you offer readers, then work on SEO for the video - should feed through good filtered traffic.
  • Providing that you write the articles really well,
    (keywords, keyword density, title, etc. SEO), search
    engine bots will do the work for you as eventually
    organic traffic will overwhelm your articles.

    If you're looking for more immediate traffic, consider the paid types.
    Purchase Facebook ads for extreme targeting, and the reputable PTC
    sites (Clixsense). Don't forget your list (assuming that you have one).
    You essentially own that traffic so let your prospects know of your new
    blog.

    It's both the big things and little things that will drive traffic to your blog.
    Get creative...in fact include your domain in your Facebook cover photo.
    Display your blog on Twitter, Pinterest, and in the descriptions of your
    Youtube videos.

    Also, see to it that you include a Wordpress widget that will allow
    you to place some type of "Share" button on EACH page of your blog.

    #Get in touch with your niche blogs and build relationship with them. It can be build through regular commenting on them.
    #Forum marketing is another way of getting free traffic.

    All of them will take some time to drive regular traffic to your site. If you are in need of quick traffic, you should go for-
    #Solo ads
    #Adwords
    #Facebook PPC

  • Basic on-site SEO, include keywords naturally in your titles and text. Comment on and build relationships with popular blogs in the same industry. Make sure you integrate social media from the start, including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. Post on related forums, include your link in the signature of your posts. Try blog carnivals. Guest post on related blogs. Answer questions on Yahoo Answers.

  • Get a good following on social networking sites to start with as you shouldn't be too focused on ranking for keywords in the beginning.

    Quality content and social traffic is the best way to start IMO.

    • Social Media is the way to go! build your followers and your fb likes and the traffic will start to come in. If people want more of what your offering; then they will be looking for you and signing up to receive your updates.
  • You can try safelists, solo ads, yahoo/bing ppc, youtube videos, maybe traffic exchanges such as Traffic Swarm...

    • Only social media promotion is not enough I must say. You must look for search engine traffic to become successful. Besides promotion at social media sites, it will be a very good option to build up a good SEO strategy.
  • Do you have goals? And do you know your audience? Both of these things must be defined first. More traffic is great - but how much more traffic? Also, consider the age of your blog. It can take two or three years to get your blog "up to speed" - that is, to a point where your target audience trusts it and views new content on a regular basis.

  • I also write a blog and most of my traffic comes from these sources:

    - blog commenting (great for building relationships too)
    - blogging communities (again, great for relationship building)
    - forum posting
    - social media
    - search engines
  • According to Google, just post quality content and do nothing else, and they will send you traffic.
  • Guest posting is one of the best things you can do. There are lots of blogs out there so pinpoint the ones that appeal to your target audience. Contact the owners and many of them would be delighted for an informative guest post.

    as forums are great source of information, peoples like to consult forums for their problems, use forums, social media , and ppc to get targetted traffic to your blog.
  • My answer is: Depends on the niche. Different niches lend themselves better to different traffic sources. Some niches are really only accessible through PPC. Some are great with PPV, some are terrible with PPV. Some Niches crush with media buys, others are duds. Some are SEO goldmines, others are wastelands.

    Minus the niche it's a difficult question to answer.
  • My best advice to you would be to create a Facebook page for your blog. If you don't mind having to pay a little money (cpm ads are the cheapest), using Facebook ads can be effective in getting people to like your Facebook page. Then you can drive traffic to your blog by updating your Facebook page so your Facebook fans will come to your blog.
  • Hustle like crazy on syndication....fb, g+,twitter,stumbleupon, empire avenue, and simultaneously grow your networks by following, adding people daily.

    Have a swipe file of places to syndicate and spend about 15 minutes daily looking for new places to submit your blog posts.

    Sounds simple and almost too obvious, but if you are rock solid consistent and produce good content you will get traffic and a following

    If you have a bit of a budget, find some sites ranking highly for keywords related to your niche, contact them, and ask if you can pay for banner ads.....this can often be a cheap way to get more eyeballs on either your blog, or a capture page (if you are building a list)

  • join relevant circles in social sites, you can join relevant facebook groups, linkedin groups, or pinterest group boards, they can bring you good traffic without spending any money..

  • Continue writing articles. If you can post a new one everyday. You can also use video marketing. No matter what you do just be consistent. That is the key to generating a constant flow of traffic everyday.

    Continually writing articles and posting them to your blog hoping that magically somehow someone somewhere will send traffic to them is a flawed strategy.

    No one is going to send you traffic because most people will not even know your site exists.

    Create really epic content that is the best written on the subject then get that content out there. Promote the hell out of it. Get it in front of your target audience. Get peoples eyes on it and if it's really good people will link, tweet, like and whatever else it.

    Simpy posting articles to your blog every day / week and doing nothing more will get you nowhere very fast.

    • I write and do nothing else and earn a full-time income. The first thing you need is the right niche. Then, you need a lot of articles. Then, people will naturally link to you UNREQUESTED. The Today Show has linked to me. Huffington Post has linked to me. So has the Houston Chronicle and others. Examiner, eHow, etc. etc.

      If you aren't getting Google traffic just off of writing articles, then you either picked the wrong niche for SEO traffic or don't have enough articles. It's not magic. It's keyword selection, timing, and volume.

      So you really think the Huffington Post became an empire by asking people to Tweet their article links or commenting on related blogs or guest blogging? Or is it the millions of articles and blog posts they wrote getting search engine traffic and natural links? Which one is it?

  • My attack is I write 27 articles a day on average. It's a numbers game. But if you mean you are using Wordpress's website to host your blog, then I would get your own domain and hosting.

  • 2 words: Press Releases.

    Press releases rank really high in Google and Yahoo. Plus, people tend to like them because they are not being directly sold something like with an article.

    Because press releases are written in the 3rd person they are objective and people tend to be more willing to click through with something like that then "in your face selling".

  • Try guest blogging. Write a great article and you could include a link or two (check with the blog owner on how many you can include) that will refer the readers to another article you have written on your blog. If you create good value they will want more info and they will go to your blog to get more info, thus boosting traffic and gaining you followers

    3) Forums in your niche

    4) Article marketing in your niche

    5) Daily blogging and pinging

    6) Paid advertising

    7) Social media

    8) Email marketing (capture blog subscribers)

    To get traffic faster you need to blog everyday for at least the first 2-months and preferably the first 3 months. You should spend as much time promoting your posts as writing them. Go to BizSugar.com and post your article there and then comment on other's posts. Blog commenting is great as well as forum marketing. Twitter, Facebook, StumbleUpon. Get yourself out there and continue to be seen.

    Free: you can do forums and blog posting on sites related to your niches.
    Paid: you can outsource some social media traffic on Fiverr

    There are many more options of course.
  • Get traffic from related forum by having a related signature and link back to your website.
  • Forum marketing and interacting with other blog owners in your niche is a great cost effective way to do things.
