My Site Got Disapproved By Clickbank For Security Threat

Hello Warriors,

I submitted a client site for new product on clickbank few days ago. Only to got reply from the dashboard account of the project that the product has been disapproved for variety of security threat.

Has anyone here experience this before and if so, what is the way out.

Is it possible to post the actual denial letter here? (Without product name and website to protect your client) I haven't heard of a security threat denial before BUT I have seen many denials because of their ever changing Terms of Use Policies. Many product and service types are not allowed anymore.

At best any answer here is likely to be educated guess work (your best answer would come from ClickBank()

But if you don't tell us *anything* about the product, we can't even make proper guesses!

I don't experience that here anyway. It loads faster which hostgator also confirm as well.
But I need to know if your antivirus is not blocking the page from loading.

No, the page is not blocked. Just very slow to load. Just some anecdotal feedback for you, nothing more. You might want to measure the page load times to ensure that's not a larger issue than you suspect. I've seen complaints about HostGator recently.

So let's start asking the more obvious questions: who is your host, and in which country is the server that hosts your site? What scripts or other plugins are running on your site? Are you using iframes or something similar that attracts suspicion nowadays?

The site is hosted om Hostgator server. The server location is Dallas, United State.
The scripts are Html, theme is OptimizePress and wishlist is among the plugins on the site. WP Affiliate Builder and Leaderboad are also among the plugins.

      I don't use iframes.

    Wags, guesses:

    1. You have been banned from cb before, or they think you are somebody they don't want to associate with

    Or
    2. They suspect, perhaps wrongly, 1.

    Or
    3. They don't like the word crack

I have never been banned on clickbank ever before.

I make quality amount of money monthly as Affiliate on the platform and it is consistent for the past 2 years.
Crack as a word can't be a problem I guess.

My guess is it might be 2, because of "security precautions that we are unable to discuss, we're unable to accept your account into the ClickBank"

Notice it says "your account", rather than "your product".

It's possible that they have you confused with somebody else, or think (possibly wrongly) that you are linked to somebody else that they don't want to work with.

Maybe they don't come right out and say it, because they aren't 100% sure of the basis for such suspicions.

But the account is neither banned nor restricted. I still have full access to the account. And there is no any email that says, your account has been banned or you will no longer have access to this account henceforth.

I thought if account is not accepted, then one should be denied of using the account.

    Hi,

I wonder if the site itself is the problem and not your account. A video started playing without my permission when I visited the site and I had trouble leaving because of a pop-up. This may be the security issue they mention.

In any event, you will need to find another home for this product. You will need to focus on the future rather than worrying about why Clickbank said what they did.

If they weren't accepting because of a video auto playing or something simple like that, I think they would tell you the reason. I presume...

Yes SunilTanna, you must be right, with my years of experience with clickbank, I don't think that they do count that at all. Because I promote lots of products that has auto playing video and no penalty for that.

I just clicked on the link to your site and my Norton antivirus kicked in and blocked some sort of "fake request" attack?

Chances are, that's why it wasn't it approved?

Perhaps check your site for viruses, malicious scripts, etc.?

I guess as much but the file has been scanned time without numbers even with Norton Antivirus and reported clean...

      Thumb up Marketingva,
I love your comment and suggestion. I think I will have to first remove the pop up and then look into finding another home for the product. I guess registering another domain name for it will be a way forward.

I am open to more suggestion from my fellow warriors on way forward.

However, I will be more than happy to see that this thread helps as many warriors as possible that might have similar trouble with clickbank in time to come.

I'm thinking that the problem is the word "crack" (as in software cracks).

According to your scan summary above, even your WordPress site is in a directory called "/home/crack/"

I don't get any virus warnings from going to the site, so Norton is probably disliking the same word "crack".

Anything that might be a software crack site would be a huge danger that Clickbank would want to stay away from - even though they can't put their finger on anything specific on your site.

You may have to come up with different name for your product.

Thanks Doug9;8666813! I am looking into what to do about the product either to move it to another home entirely by changing the domain name...
