Anyone know what commissions are paid for EPN affiliates? I've searched but all I get is vague references to a sort of "pay per click" type arrangement.

How much do I get if someone makes a bid on Ebay through an affiliate link? And how much for a buy on Ebay?

Anyone know?

Payment from eBay is based on a variety of factors, including whether the buyer is a new eBay customer or an existing one, and the price of the item they're buying.

Over the past several years, payments have averaged about 55% of eBay's Winning Bid Revenue (WBR). In other words, you get about 55% of eBay's profit on a sale. You don't get paid per click; you get paid for sales you make.

    HOWEVER...

...starting this month, they've made some huge changes to the program, the most significant of which is reducing the length of the customer's cookie from 7 days to 24 hours. Since the start of the month, most longtime affiliates are reporting decreases in earnings of anywhere from 50% to 95% from last month.

Ebay claims that they're paying out the same amount of money to their affiliates as they always have, but I've yet to see a post from any affiliate on any forum who says they're earning more from eBay in October than they were in September.

I've been an eBay affiliate for about six years, but I'm looking for other sources of revenue now.

I've earned as high as $8,500 a month from the eBay affiliate program a few years ago when it was on Commission Junction (one of the BEST programs out there)...

Then as in ALL things that are NOT broken, they tried to FIX it by bringing it in house...What a MESS, affiliates left in droves and went to Amazon, Clickbank, and others....

It's ALL about the bottom line, THEIRS!!!

Build a LIST with paid traffic, then market affiliate offers that way...You'll do MUCH better in the LONG run.

Then if an affiliate program goes south, it doesn't take the majority of your income with it....

I've been an eBay affiliate for almost a decade and have made positive comments about the program on the forum. HOWEVER - with the new affiliate terms effective October 1st, and seeing the results across dozens of websites and different niches this last month, don't bother. What was once a good program is now amongst the worst affiliate opportunities online. Once this Christmas season is over the remaining affiliates will bail out.

Besides the affiliate problem with millions of weblinks shifting from eBay to Amazon and others, the company has a major fiasco brewing with its new "collections" design and trying to be a weird Pinterest social media site that also thinks its a retailer like Amazon. Good thing the company has PayPal to prop up the bottom line.
