Hello people,

i have a local client in Australia, its a Perfume Shop called PerfumeBOX.

i was building some back links on high pr websites trying to get higher ranking in some targeted keywords.

My question is: will the back links from ".com" websites help me to get higher ranking in Google Australia with ".com.au"?

if it doesn't help, what is the best way to get local backlinks& traffic to hopefully make some sales.

Any help is really appreciated.

Google Webmaster Tools matters more than the TLD.
You can specify targeting.
And you'll need to have other sites that are targeted local.

In PPC advertising, you can specify for your ad to only be shown to only people of selected locations.

I think you are referring to free traffic? Not sure if it is possible.

But for paid traffic, it is possible. Simply do geo targeting in Adwords, Bing ads, FB ads, etc.

Most of PPC ads can make your ads geography targeted, so it's definitely possible to target only for Australia... :>

but of course, there it needs money spent to make your ppc campaign run... :>

Optimize your site's content for the word australia. also use word Australia in your keywords when you do backlinks.

for example product name australia, etc

Submit your client's business listing at local Australian business directories. It will help a lot to bring local traffic.
