How to secure my WP from oDesk guy?

Hello,

I just found a guy who is willing to add a specific plugin (and tweak it) for my blog since I'm unable to do that.

What should I do before I'll let him access to my cpanel and/or /wp-admin?

I don't want him to screw the site, but I really need that plugin. Any suggestions? The feedback is good btw, 300 positive reviews, but still..

Just make an user account for him and after he is finished, delete it. But in your position I would let him record what has to be done as a manual, so you can repeat that. Can't be so complicated.

    1. back up all the data
    2. give him access in a very limited time, let's say in the next 12 hours
    3. in the wp admin, make him his own account, maybe just 1 grade lower than administrator so he can install the plugin..
    4. after the next 12 hours you can whether delete his account or if you didn't make him another account, simply give him your admin account and change the password after 12 hours
    5. confirm the job

What do you think about that?
