Hello,

I'm putting together a wso, which is basically a video instructional series on HOW to do something, the only thing it might require the purchase of additional software(not owned by me, or affiliated with me) in order to make it work.

My question is, would this be a turn off to you? If you bought a WSO and had to purchase additional software to complete the training? Would it matter? I'm just curious as to what your thoughts and feelings are.

Thanks

Many WSO's require you to acquire a bunch of 3rd party software. I wouldn't worry about it, better be upfront and lose one sale than deceive and lose a customer for life.

    All the best

Get the software created so you can include it in your WSO either up front or as an up sell. That would make your WSO more valuable, and you will recoup the cost of developing the software quite easily if your WSO is worth anything.

You can find programmers on oDesk or one of the other freelancing sites.

I really wish I could fork over the cost and time to re-create the software as this would probably be best, but I just can't at the moment. But I do believe the instructions in the wso are valuable, and the company does offer a trial, so if I just let people know that upfront(in the sales page?) would that be ok?

Alternatively, my OTO is going to be a "Done for you" type approach where they wont need to purchase any additional software to make it work, and I would do it for them.

    thoughts? comments? ideas?

I think you can have 2 options
    1. blatantly tell on "how to do this with xxxx software"
    2. or you don't need to tell the software, but you offer 2 types which is first it probably can be the manual way (if it's possible) and 2nd with the software

The bottom line is : people have paid to solve the problem , if after they get your wso but it's not the solution, then it's not overdelivering, you're letting people down.

Better you pack the wso with the software.. The price will be higher surely, but the problem is solved once they pay the package.

IMO it is a turn off for many and would affect the conversions. Offers that are complete in all form do best from a conversion perspective. Coming back to the software, if it is a generic software that people are expected to have or may buy and then use it regularly, it should be fine. But then if it is something very specific and costs a lot of money...I am not sure if many would prefer going down that route.

Yea I see what you mean. Unfortunately I can't include the software. Would it be better to just make my oto, my done for you service, the actual offer? I really want this to be a success but have been struggling with the semantics.

Just make sure you put that in your sales letter, Id be pissed to buy a WSO only to find out later that I need to buy other stuff for it to work. If you clearly state this in your sales thread then there should be no problem
