Advice on a Wedding Tradeshow Project
I have been coming to this site for a few months now, and just recently signed up. Let me start off by saying this site is great, and thats because of all the contributing members here. I have learnt a ton of information coming to this site and am very excited to start working with results and tweaking accordingly.
So I am working with a client that has hired me to help them find vendors for their tradeshow, advertisers for a magazine that accompanies the tradeshow, and finally helping bring in as many people as possible to the event. Listed below is all the things I am doing in order to drive traffic to the site. If you guys have any experience working with this sort of thing, or have any new ideas, it would be greatly appreciated. I will keep people updated on this thread on my ongoing results, so if someone else in the future has to deal with a tradeshow, they can use this as a reference.
1) bought 50 articles and am going to be sharing 1 article a day until the day of the event (jan 5)
question 1: should i drop all the articles at once and share ONE article a day through my social media or should i upload one article a day, and then share?
questions 2: I was thinking about paying a keyword research team to get me a list of TITLES FOR ARTICLES that i can get the writer to write about rather than keywords to target. What do you think about this? Would keyword research teams give me titles of articles rather than keywords? I dont want to abuse SEO to get to the top and would rather do this organically because this is going to be an yearly event I need to do the online marketing for.
2) purchased 100 wedding tips, and am going to make 6-10 second videos and create 100 wedding tip videos. I am going to share 2 of these a day until the event.
3) i am collecting a bunch of stuff from the vendors/advertisers we have right now, and am going to share 1 item from the vendors/advertisers.
So this means every day I will be sharing 2 wedding tip videos, one article, and 1 piece from a vendor (picture, video, review). So daily the tradeshow will be sharing 4 things throughout the day.
4) I have gotten a few people to create what I call a "share list" where a person would have 10 targetted friends on facebook that will share things we share on a daily basis. (when I mean targetted i mean, for a wedding show, i told my clients to pick people who have friends who may/will be your target audience)
5)we will be offering free tickets to couples who send us a 1 minute clip telling us "their love story"
6) we have one travel agent offering a free honeymoon to any couple that attends the tradeshow and is getting married in 2014. I am going to do a special commercial to get this out heavy
7)we are going to do 5 videos that are going to feature destination weddings such as: a beach wedding, a wedding in niagara falls, an outdoor wedding, etc. These videos will be 3-6 minutes long and we will be showcasing vendors who can deal with these special type of weddings (i am going to approach potential vendors and tell them about the "featured" weddings videos we are going to do and how their business has an opportunity to be in a featured video - one way to find potential vendors/advertisers)
8)we are going to offer a small prize at the event for people to win in return for a 1 minute testominial on what they loved about the tradeshow
9) We are having a fashion show at the event. So i thought i would do a small video where we interview 3 of the models who are aspiring models, and i was going to do it in a talk show settting. We are going to get a funny guy to do the interviews, have the laughter noises in the background, voiceover introducing the host, etc. basically go the whole 10 yards at imitating a talk show.
10) I have located 10 blogs in Canada that focus on weddings. depending on the budget and cost, I want to pay for 5-10 1000 word articles and give them to these blogs as a guest poster.
11) I want to build an email list, but am having trouble thinking up of what kind of ebook i can make or what kind of product i can make and provide it for free. I understand this is the best way to create an email list.
Like i said, I will continue posting on this thread and keep you guys updated on the different methods i am trying. This gives people an opportunity to give me an idea to try out. If it is cost efficient and I believe it will help with what i am trying to accomplish, i am willing to test it and provide results.
Thanks for the time guys, and I apologize for the long post.
