Is the e-cig/vapor nich still worth it/profitable?

This is something I would like to get into but upon further research, there's a lot of stuff that doesn't sit well with me.

1.) A lot of competition.

2.) Still a "grey area" in the United States, not sure how future laws could effect business.

3.) Can't sell anything tobacco related on e-bay, or risk your account getting banned.

4.) Read somewhere that adsense does not approve of these sites and bans e-cig related ads.

5.) Only way I've found to monetize this really is through affiliates, and some of them seem shady and others may take up to 30 days until they pay you. Others only offer a very small commission.

I feel this is something I could get into and interested in. I am a vaper myself, and think the revolution is going to blow up soon. But I'm not exactly sure if the niche is still profitable. Is anyone here doing it with success or know of somebody?

Thanks.

It is but the niche is growing so if you do not have a client base built you will be lost in a sea of start-ups looking to get rich quick. You need to invest in your own juice making supplies and know your shit when it comes to the bat types and clears.

Yes, your right there could be some legal issues in the future, most of these products use a glycol base with nicotine there have been some respiratory issues with some individuals, but the people who buy these things will do so anyway.

I think the biggest problem is that these things are now available in just about every single convenience store on every single corner.

Now two years ago that was not the case, people buy this product will usually do so at a convenient location, not to say that the niche is saturated but perhaps the local market is.

According to the guys from omgmachines, they started an ecigs site a few months ago that is now making $1,000 day. So, if they're being honest, it would seem that it is still a profitable niche IF you can get traffic. They have a massive private link network they've invested in that allows them to get rankings that you may not be able to get.

E-cigs are sold on ebay as are replacement parts for them.

It's highly competitive and in my region the e-cig use has exploded in the past year.

There are three new e-cig brick and mortar stores within 15 miles of my house and all are doing well when it comes to business.

Leading e-cig sites online have established affiliate relationships with major manufacturers and have well built, informative sites that offer more than one brand as well as accessories and parts.

2-3 years ago was a good time to get into online e-cig sales - to do it now you'll have to know what you are talking about and you MUST know the laws and regulations that restrict what you are allowed to advertise/claim when it comes to e-cigs.

I'm speaking from experience of writing over 1000 articles for over a dozen major e-cig brand sites for clients who put a lot of money into development an online presence in that niche.

If you can rank, you can bank for sure. It's largely an SEO play.

Conversion is high with the big brands and most pay recurring commissions on re-orders. Starter kit commissions aren't bad either.

You need to really be into SEO and doing review sites. For a few hundred bucks you can order kits from several of the major brands to try them out for reviews and make videos.

Additional risks include offline retail and potential regulations.
