Hi Warrior Community - Video Game Industry Help

Hi warrior community, I'm a new user here. First of all, I apologize for my poor English!
I've always loved internet business, had some success through my few years and now I'm here to ask the gurus around this amazing forum what are you suggestion from this point on.

My plans were to start a video game website like game spot, where I offered reviews, latest news, community, discussion, and the video games for sale. Like everyone here I'm thinking about revenue and how profitable it can be. I decided to go along with this category of products (video games) because I have experience with them and I actually find it easy to handle. I was going to apply on Amazon associate program to have easy access to all the latest video games, but all I've heard are BAD things, closing accounts with money in them, new rules which have reduced profit by 50%+. It literally spooked me off, so I started reading on eBay and best buy affiliate programs and it just the SAME. I need some real updated information on this partners affiliate programs.

What I basically want to do is create a platform with recent news and a nice community for gamers to visit, but mainly to offer video games for the user to buy. Products I don't own which is why I need an online video game supplier (affiliate).

I'm not very experience with website creation and handling but I have a very close friend who works with a team on high quality websites and apps which has offered his help, so I'm good on that side.
Suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks,
Dani

This is a tough niche to break into, as most gamers already know where they want to buy their games from (discounts from GameSpot, Walmart exclusives with extra content, etc.), but if you want my opinion, go with PlayAsia (this isn't an affiliate link). They have a nice affiliate program, and you can buy games from Japan as well.

I totally understand the Amazon thing. Here in Minnesota, our idiotic governor decided to tax Amazon, assuming that it would bring in more business. I sometimes wonder what kind of logic these people use, because all it did was wind up losing us our associate accounts. I'd personally go with PlayAsia and see how that works out for you.

It is a tough niche. But its a good one, http://mashable.com/2013/11/07/video...ush-hollywood/

I already checked them out. Not very convinced and im not a big fan of there website design which in the long run can affect my traffic, you dont want to direct your users to a place they will not feel comfortable. But I havent tried them, would love reviews on playasia.

Any more tip is appriciated, Thanks

I actually in the process of creating a very very similar PC game affiliate marketing site.

Most people on here will make you pay for their knowledge and/or will call me stupid for helping you since technically we are "competitors" but I am a person who was raised to help other people.

I am dealing almost exclusively with PC games, but there are lots of different ways to get your affiliate business in there. Games sales, Game downloads (this is high for PCs), strategy guides are a gold mine, then there are things like PC parts/ Hardware, systems, PC repairs.

    Hope this helps!

Its basically the same with a video game website; exclusively on video games, but also offering accesories for consoles, gaming earphones, etc. (Product Related)

Really appriciate your help. Thank you very much

And I actually wouldn’t mind, but first I just want some overview of some people with experience.

You won't like my answer here but I have to say that you shouldn't go anywhere near that niche unless you have a lot of money behind you.

There are many big sites and many small sites competing over this and it is very difficult to break into.
