your blog should have a main topic that people are searching for. Your articles should all be subtopics of that main topic. If you have been "blogging" for 10 months and posting new articles every day, and you are not going for hugely competitive niche keywords, you should be very high in the search engines by now. That means you should be getting some decent traffic.

Of course, if your niche is something that .00001% of the population has any interest in - then you're toast.

    Hope this helps.

added: Oh crap - wait. I just saw the link in your post and it took me to your "blog" about making money online. First of all - there is a very weak message to market match.

your ad on this page says "VISIT MY BLOG TO LEARN HOW I MAKE MONEY ONLINE AND HOW YOU CAN TOO!", however, when I arrive at your site, the first post tells me your plans, but clearly says you have not made all that money. DUH.

Lesson 1 - message to market match... whatever you offer in your ad, you had better offer exactly that when the visitor arrives.

Cant agree more but if your marketing somewhere other than here for traffic to your site they end user will not know you don't have traffic...

I would take the time to find out if you have been blacklisted by google.. if you are writing every day and have no traffic..

    You either have two problems

    1. You are not getting enough people to see your blog posts

    2. The people that are seeing your blog posts do not read them when they hit your site because it doesn't solve a problem that they have...and thus they leave your site, don't opt in to your list, and never return again.

What strategy are you using to get traffic to your blog?

Are you hustling with syndication or doing seo, ect?

I went to your blog. You need to post more freakily, at least once every 7 days, and then promote it. Check out me blog, read some of the things I am writing about. If you want me to share some of the tools I use, send me a message or leave a comment. Let me know if this helps.

    My strategy is -
    1) At first I write some relevant articles and make it spinnable.
    2) Then I create some quality 1st tier backlinks using SEnuke XCr.
    3) Then I filter the live links using scrapebox.
    4) After that I create huge 2nd tier links using Scrapebox & Xrumer to boost up the 1st tier links.

By following this strategy I am boosting up my sites to the top of search engines and getting targeted traffic. Sometimes I need more than 1 cycle, but this is the best way so far for me.

Does not sound like the best strategy in fact in my opinion a very bad strategy... You are trying to do no real work or write any real content and then you don't even get good backlinks from any targeted places you are just blasting hopping to get traffic.

It does not matter how many people come to your site if they don't want what you are selling...

Bad practice man you are on the road to failure if you continue to try to make money this way....

Read this article it will help you with the traffic issue unless you are determined to take the lazy way Understanding how to get Traffic

      Choose your domain name carefully.
It is very important that the domain name of your site, is related to its topic. In fact, it is best if the title of the site is the same as its domain name, so that people can easily recall it and visit it again and again. With that, you should spend some time in coming up with the possible domain names, and search for them.

I have just checked out your blog and I agree that there is definitely some confusion in the message to market match.

    Congrats on persevering though.

What I would suggest is that you focus on the things that you have been doing well and reposition yourself as someone who reports on what they are doing.

Become the person who tests things and lets other people know how they are working. And speak with more authority. A certain Brazilian billionaire, whose name escapes my mind, was asked the secret to his business success. He said he was a doer. That's all.

You are a doer too. You belong to a small group of people who actually do something rather than read all day. That puts you way ahead of most of the field.

So confidently report on what you are doing that is working and even NOT working. That’s providing real value.

Then combine this with affiliate marketing. You will have much much more credibility when you recommend products based on your testing.

Clearly you also appear to be a content marketer. So transform your content into other forms such as short free reports, simple YouTube videos etc.

Create your short reports in such a way that other people are interested in sharing them. For example rebrand them so that both your affiliate links and other people's affiliate links can be inserted. You can use the Ultimate Rebrander by Harvey Segal for this.

Lastly, remember to write content based on several long tail keywords that you know people are searching for and get other blogs to link to yours.

You can get links through blog commenting and guest posting. If you remain a serious doer, people will be happy to have you share what you have been doing and the results you have been getting, especially the good ones.

Imagine where you will be in 1 year if you continue.

    All the best

Like Bruce and Henry have mentioned, I would advise you to open another blog. But before this, do proper KWR. Choose your domain name and categories carefully. When you do the KWR, target a specific audience with a particular need, and search for the competition well. Then find out about the categories in the process. You will enjoy this since you've been blogging for almost an year, and you know the process of optimization.

Continue with your blog too, write content about it, and sharpen your skills in content generation.

Then think about how you'll monetize your sites.

Try sending out articles to ezine directories and adding your website address in your resource box. Also, backlinks can help you a lot to build traffic to your blog.

What exactly have you been doing this ten month? It will give us a head-start and know where to begin or access your errors.

The most important thing is optimizing your blog and ranking it for as many good keywords as you can.

When writing, it's good to sometimes pick long tail keywords to write about.

What's up with your post and question, and your signature link?

10 months and low traffic? What have you been doing? You might have to migrate to Ebay, get a job... or go back to college and get a degree in pharmacy or something.

If you're not getting traffic and you have been blogging for 10 months, it means you could be doing many things wrong. It could be that your content is bad, site not indexed, or you didn't even try driving any traffic and just let your blog sit there. Use social media to drive traffic, it's super easy.

Visited your blog, here's what happened...

I read the title; My Online Income Journey"

First rule of writing ANY sales oriented copy... NEVER write from the 1st person perspective, unless it's really, really necessary.

Secondly, a quote from your 1st paragrapgh; "All I have to do is figure out a formula to build more traffic and revenue each month..."

OK very simple; if you have yet to provide solution to your own problem, How will this help me or anyone else?

I didn't get past the first paragraph and saw YOU offer ME no resolve or pertinent solutions, and within seconds... I'm gone and likely NEVER coming back to your site.

Regroup. Research traffic building practices...like writing sales oriented information focusing on your readers (not you) or in the least provide engaging information that will allow your audience to 'feel' the sense YOU know your sh!t or be of some benefit to them.

Become an expert as conveying 'solutions' to others... solve your own problem, and then educate others how to assist them in doing the same... solve people's problems.

    Hope that helps some.

Heck, start by writing down your blog's objective (*which should be putting your audiences needs, solutions, desires, and problems first...NOT YOURS!") and break-down; How your site/product/services (or an affiliates site/products/services) can do just that!

    Yep - pretty simple really:

    1. Create new content each day, blog post, video, article, reinforced with social networks, email marketing

    2. Find at least 10 new potential affiliate partners each week - approach them focusing on relationship building FIRST, then have them evaluate your products and then bring them on as partner

    3. Set budget for paid traffic per month, test and improve 2-3 times a week.

  • Build an avatar. An avatar is your ideal customer. Who are they, where do they hang out, what do they do for work, what are there interests, what are they struggling with.

You then want to do keyword research and find the search terms these people are searching for to solve a problem they have. You can use google keyword planner, market samurai keyword research tools for this.

Make sure you start off with long tail keywords. (keywords more than 3 words long to start out with)

Try to find keywords with a high traffic volume, low competition and a high estimated CPC that way you know they are buyer keywords if advertisers are spending money to target them.

You then want to base each blog post targeting those keywords.

I do this same concept with videos on Youtube and it generates a ton of traffic for me.

    Hope that helps

Are you making money from any website other than your make money blog?

If not, consider doing so in a different niche and write about the process on your blog. Even if you hit $500 to $1,000 a month you'll gain some interest in the process and will have a flood of info to write about and tutorials to create.

You should create quality content instead. Blog consistently and provide actual value in your posts rather than spinning them to try and rank in search engines.

And ya you need to think of a long-term strategy, start building an online asset that you can use in the future...

A mistake a lot of people make is they just do stuff without any kind of long-term strategy or plan. So they end up being reactive to what happens, and it's like you are constantly at a fork in the road, go left or right?

If you plan things out from the beginning, figure out exactly how you will make money, what your high profit activities are, etc. you will have a much easier time and you will have much more clarity on what you should actually be doing to make a living.

I've been having similar issues with an older blog that I've given up since then, but I have thought about starting to blog again. One ebook I started reading suggested a lot of "small" but meaningful factors could result in low traffic: low frequency posting, bad structure/readability, writing without a genuine message to convey or ideas for helping people. I think all these have to be really carefully planned before you can even start blogging with the hope for any success.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[8683686].message }}
  • Hi,

The reason you are not getting traffic are because you used a keyword twice which is a definate no no. Also the other keywords you use are poor. Did you do any research and what exactly is your blog giving of value to anyone who finds it which are very few in number?

You must replace the keywords with ones which people are actually searching for instead of relying on guesswork? Also focus on a specific niche because nobody is interested in how to make $100K a year from blogging when it is obvious that you are not?

Sorry to be so harsh but I really want to help you and softsoaping our reply won't help you improve? Be more focused, write about what you already are good and successful at, not what you are wishing to become?

Alternatively write reviews about products and services you have used sharing your results, likes and dislikes about it? That and using much better keywords should make a tremendous difference within a few months? Also try writing articles, guest blog posts (information non spam posts) and social media should also help once these errors are corrected?

Hope this helps you along with what others have said?

    Stephen & Jennifer.

Cyberzolo, what exactly are you blogging about? My guess is it's a topic that is already begin covered in depth. There are too many competing sites cranking out information about the same topic and you will never win against more established, corporate blogs that came first.

My advice would be to ask yourself if the content is really unique and how you can separate yourself from similar blogs. The traffic, fans, and money will come then naturally.

If you have a blog that you're making posts on a regular basis, you can start by simply leveraging Facebook and sharing all your posts on Facebook, to start increasing your exposure for free without doing much.

Then, if you want to really scale quickly... you can (still) stay on Facebook, but then run Facebook Ads to your shares and posts.

    Easy as 1 - 2 - 3!

This is good advice. I will add that there are free plug-ins (I use a really good one on most of my blogs) for WP blogs that will automatically share your posts to Facebook and other social sites and bookmark sites, such as StumbleUpon, Twitter, FriendFeed, LinkedIn, Tumblr, etc. Go to your plug-ins section on your WP Admin and do a search for social sharing plug-ins.

Build up you friends and followers on all these places, add and invite new contacts daily, as your time allows you, and soon you will have thousands upon thousands of people who will see your blog posts automatically with the help of the plug-in. You will have your own private traffic network.

Also, build your list. Your list will also provide you traffic and will be a long-term asset. I recommend using Aweber since it is very easy to use and is reliable.

Read this thread here : http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ic-source.html which has lots of good advice from different warriors on how to get traffic.
