Give them what they want and they will pay for it
There are two types or businesses; those who know their customers' desires and those who know how to exploit them to the fullest. There is no need to explain which one is more successful, right? By knowing how to exploit the desires, you are on the road to unlimited success. But how to exploit their desires? Here is how; the nice way, or the nasty way. If you play nice, then you'll probably fail. Besides, all of your competition is playing nice already, so why would you do it the same? To be a success, you have got to become nasty, simple as that.
Example 1: if you want to sell security software, then you'll have much better success with scared online newbies than security experts, right?
Example 2: if you want to sell paid memberships for your dating site, your target audience should be older men, inticed by your virtual playboy-alike bunnies.
Example 3: if you want to sell sunglasses, create a celebrity blog, post pictures or celebs with your sunglasses, go to teen forums, create a hot teen girl account and post comments on how popular you are because you're wearing xyz sunglasses of that celebrity.
So, what have you learned from the examples above? By knowing your customers' desires, you can create a marketing plan, which hits them in the heart and mind, leaving them no choice to say No. Remember, there is always a way to sell something. The only question is, to what extent are you prepared to go, e.g. how much do you want to sell? I think we both know the answer to this, right?
