HELP - VERY BIG, HOT LEAD In the Bag, Now What? Please help. URGENT

I've got a leading classes for adult center saying, improve our email conversions rate, and do what you want with our magazine that goes out to thousands of people and has dozens upon dozens of classes adults pay to take such as yoga, jewelry, business, etc. They also have said, "here is our email list of currently 11K people, make the conversion rate better.

I said, sure thing.

This is such an incredible opportunity. Either way, I have services that they need and I can offer, but there is so much potential here and they are totally open to whatever I can do for them.

Urgent Need: I need to help them get double or triple or more, the number of people who are currently signing up for their classes.

I need a plan!

Why on earth would you take on a job you are not qualified to do?

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

You should have figured out what to do long before you accepted this type of job.

      Sucks, but that's the truth.

I have services they need that I can offer, but I'm trying to figure out how to really increase the conversions of their catalog that is a hard copy and mailed out and their email list of 11K. Essentially they are saying, if you can help us with that do it. They'll be happy to take my other services if I have time and wish to offer them to them. Got a lot of bigger projects going on.

Come on guys, lets make something awesome of this. In fact, this is WSO worthy. PM me also with any proposals so to speak. I'm game to work together on this lead.

I have confidence I can do a lot of good for them for a smaller fee that they already need. So we'll close something. However, they have this HUGE catalog of classes and if I can use it somehow to increase the number of people that sign up for their classes, then I can really do well. Wish some confident pros on here had some suggestions. This probably isn't a place for those who don't have ideas on how to make this work. We haven't closed the deal but they like me and I have several things I can offer but I know there is so much more that can be done. That's the challenging part. Does that make sense?

I dunno the specifics...but it sounds like if the catalog is a hard copy, its likely printed out already for this year at least.

Might want to start by targeting the email conversions. I'm sure if you do some searches on here for improving conversion rates, you'll find some good ideas.

To all those criticising the OP for taking on the opportunity, didn't Bill Gates do that historic deal with IBM before he had any sort of operating system to work with?

You don't need to have the required skills yourself. Do the deal, outsource the work and manage the whole thing.

One quote from a blog I read came to my mind after reading those bashing comments: "You don't have to be a master to offer your services, you just have to be better than your customer".

This took 3 seconds: increase email conversion - Google-haku

Taking the approach that you will be managing the people who will convert for your client makes sense. They want you to help them convert, but did not say you can't hire someone to help you on this, right?

If their students are happy with the courses that they are taking now, then why not promote to these same students other related courses? Perhaps, they are in a beginner course and promoting an intermediate course would make sense. If they are taking Chinese cooking classes, perhaps they may be open to a French or Italian cooking course...

  • Let me see if I understood. The classes are great and people would flock to them if only the word gets out ?
Try leaflet dropping then or advertise on an online directory that serves your locality. If you find any then do let us know which ones you found.
Howabout advertising with a clip on youtube ?

Hey! I admire your courage, I wouldn't have done that if I were you. I would start with a youtube ad that I would promote on a facebook page too.

You all have been so kind in your responses! I love the idea of buliding lists based on classes! That would be so cool, eventually you have a "cooking" list, and then a "martial arts" list and so on! very very cool! I also like the idea of Danielle and million dollar idea, of youtube. This is a good start friends. It would be cool to build a solid system. you know. Even a follow up survey with students to see how they liked the class and then after engaging promote a related one, right? And also to find out their interests. That's why sms text surveys could be so cool
