A freebie or a discount?

It depends of your offers and its quality. but if you want to grow up your list, go for freebies.

    Hi beasty513,

From my experience it depends on the niche and the type of audience you want to address to.

The best way to know what will work is to do a research and to split test several squeeze pages.

If you can elaborate more, I will be happy to give you a more thorough answer.

    I would definitely say freebies.

When you give a discount, people still have the fact that they need to buy something in the back of their minds. They are much more likely to opt in when they do get something absolutely free, no strings attached.

    All the best,

  • Hi,

For me it is always freebies in order to build lists. Also I have in the past signed up to products at a discount only to find it is only for 7 days after which you pay the full price on top especially for a monthly payment?

Also another hate for me is where a product is advertised at say $47 and as soon as you buy you are taken to one of those really annoying "Wait! before you download your purchase here is a one time offer." type of upsell page which often is followed up with another and another. The record so far is 6 upsells!!!

This is especially annoying after you have wasted an hour or more watching a video where they repeat it only costs $47 which subsequently is a lie when the total cost exceeds $200 or more.

I always cancell when this happens and demand a refund unless the product is something I am testing to write a review about it and say if it does as they claim or is another scam, which most often it is.

So freebies is my prefered method.

    Hey there,

In my opinion, discount is a valid option only when I know that the visitors I am sending to the squeeze page are interested in the kind of product I am selling (For example: if they bought a similiar product).

In most cases, discounts are given directly inside the sales page, and there is no point in requiring the visitor to subsribe in order to get them, as it will slow down the sales process and therefore probably reduce the sales conversion rate.

It does depend on the content!
But generally, if I would have to chose between the two, I would chose the freebie. Discounts are so distrustfull. One can sell his products at the real price while claiming he is having a discount.
It's just my feelings towards them.

Freebie works really great . if you can build a trust with your subscriber fast then you can go further and offer them a discount. People love to buy from people they trust as amarketer or seller.

Freebies are probably best but only if you don't give away too much. It's good to offer something of value to all customers. Most will appreciate free stuff, but some who would be willing to buy may not want to make too great a step towards spending a lot of money. So for them, certain discounts could be added as an extra option.
