I try not to do "normal" stuff. I've discovered it's

I do a set 3 hours a day, I'm part time going full time by christmas hopefully. It's not really how long you work, just set some goals that you want completed by the end of the week.

It all depends upon if what you are doing is considered work only or something you actually also enjoy? Surely one of the many reasons someone should start their own business is to do what they enjoy as opposed to a job where most people hate what they do but have to for the money?

I started my own online business because I wanted a lot more money and less time spent getting it but later on realised that freedom to choose to work or not was the greatest benefit. The money is only the instrument that makes that choice a possibility, something an employer doesn't allow.

Also I can choose to work the hours of the day I want to work and do not need to spend hours stuck in traffic nor many hours doing the work of 3 people for the pay of 1? Finally I am paid for the quality and service I provide for others according to how well I give it, again unlike a job where even the laziest gets the same as the hardest worker doing the same shared tasks.

That's why I do business online.

Why do you want to do business online? If it is only to get rich then you need to rethink before you begin otherwise you will fail and loose your money? If it is to serve and help others then you are on the right track.

A full time course as you put it only applies to a classroom situation whereas an online course you do at your own pace and in your free time.

I was asking the same some days ago.

I was offered a stay-at-home job but sometimes it's hard to be connected all day long. I feel I can't leave my laptop from my side. It will always be like this?

On Sunday, I setup all of my Achievements I want to accomplish for the coming week, broken down on a "Daily Achievement" basis.

Then, I work Monday - Thursday to accomplish the Achievements each day.

Some days, I may only work 2 hours. Some I may work 10. It just depends on how long it takes me to accomplishment the Achievements for that day.

I've tried just about every personal productivity method out there, and this is one I came up with on my own that seems to work best (for me).

Why do I work online?

Because I can work 1-3 hours per day, take days off whenever I want (like last week, I took four days off to play the new Call of Duty) and still make CEO type income working less than part time hours.

I have no 'timetable' since I literally work when I want.

That's also another reason why I love IM. Since I'm lazy, I can set-up income streams that continue to pay me for years, with little to no effort spent maintaining them.

I actually think it's impossible to do 'normal' working hours for IM (6-7 hours of doing what exactly?) - that's what outsourcers are for lol!

One of the main reasons I got into IM was so I could set my own schedule at a whim. I couldn't stand having to ask my boss permission to do something that was important to me, and I couldn't stand the lack of freedom that a job provides.

I'm nowhere near where I want to be financially, so my schedule is pretty intense, even more so than when I had a job. I get up early most days, and I tend to want to work really long hours just about everyday. I don't really think of weekends as any different than weekdays (except I can hear all the drunk people yelling while I'm working on Friday and Saturday nights).

I usually go to bed really late/early in the morning and at different times everyday, so there's no set wake up time. I try to get 6 hours of sleep, but I usually wake up 1 or 2 hours before my alarm and just start my day.

If you're looking for a work schedule, you're probably not going to find one on the WF. You have to create your own work schedule that allows you to accomplish your goals in a time frame that is reasonable for you.

No one has the same projects, goals, resources, lifestyle, mindset, work ethic etc as you....so keep trying things until you find something that works for you. I found what works for me through trial and error, and I still try new things to see if I can improve my schedule.

Seems like you still have a lot of learning to do. Try to devote a set number of hours everyday to IM. Spend 25% of your time learning and 75% doing....doesn't have to be exact, but you get the point. Spend more time doing what you've learned.

Oh and try to find the right opportunity for you (the right money maker and the right traffic source). Trust your gut feeling, if a method or system doesn't seem right to you, don't do it. You have to believe 100% in whatever you are doing for it work. If you don't believe in it 100%, any time something goes wrong, you're going to want to quit and switch to something else (which you are already doing).

Also, you have to have creativity and use common sense.

For instance, using traffic exchange websites doesn't really make any sense, because the other people using them are only there to get traffic to their websites, not to find something to buy from yours.

You have to go where your buyers are or be where they can find you, not just use any random traffic source.

Up until recently I have been "see-sawing" my time between IM and working on junk cars. It was only until recently that I was about to benefit from the fruit of my paaaatient time-investment in IM activity that I was about to open up my own shop. Which itself was another difficult challange against my time management, but now I've got the IM/Chopshop thing manageable enough

Weekends cease to have meaning when you go full time. Every day is a weekend.

At first it took me a while find the model that was optimal for me, but nowadays I try to stick to the same every week and it works for me.

1) I always start my week on Sundays, this makes me feel like I'm a head for the week. The Sunday work is primarily setting up goals for the week because I want to know exactly what to accomplish by the end of the week.

2) Monday - Friday I work through my TODO list for the week, if the week is good and I'm in the zone I often get more work done than just the TODO list and sometimes things take longer than expected that s***s of course but is just a reality.

Hours / Day varies depending on if things run smooth or not, anything from 5 hours to 10 sometimes more.


This is a simple model that works well for me.

Working with a good time management system is so crucial! GTD or Simpleology are great tools to help. You'll learn that every hour of your time is really at a premium so you need to say no to the time wasters as you build up your business. Let your business and personal goals help set the tone for your day to day activities. You will start to become vigilant about how you spend your time. You might even find over time that you don't even miss the online diversions like Facebook anymore....especially as your business starts to take off!

I like to make a plan:

Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays: Work on new eBooks (writing, researching, cover, outsourcing, etc.). Basically just work on my eBooks on those days. Once one eBook is complete, I start the next.

Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays: Add new content to my website. After content is added I promote it on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, forums, etc... I then set goals for myself as far as expanding ("like" 20 different facebook comments as my "fan page", follow 5 new people on Twitter, make 5 facebook comments on other peoples' pages, etc.).

Any additional free time is spent researching and/or working towards more content creation.

I do a mix of everything on Sundays....I'm at this 7 days/week, many hours per day. I'm not yet raking in the thousands each month, but I will be .

Actually I have no fixed schedule. I just wake up, check my emails and reply to all my clients, check out the work of my freelancers and deliver certain projects to my clients, order some links, advertise link building services and all kinds of stuff like that. And when I have free time, I read forums and do some brain storming and watch some webinars, by then my brain is usually flooded with ideas and inspiration and I start taking action and constantly try out other methods, when it "fails" I move on.. sometimes it "clicks" and then I find a goldmine and create a schedule in my mind to start digging out that gold. ;-)

I work full time about 12 hours a day clearing my to-do lists, and nothing in partucular order, I know everything by hard after 7+ years doing this full time

I live in Thailand and it's too darned hot to go out in the day. So I work all day, and go out and party in the evening.

I work longer hours than I did when I had a job, and for less money. But I've built some really interesting stuff recently, and I have the option of selling my sites when I come up with even more ideas and want to offload some of the previous ideas.

Actually there is not, at least for me... I usually go with the flow except for saturday when I write the email swipes for the coming week.

Further exeption, big PPC campaigns then I sit in front of the PC hitting F5 for 48 hours straight

I don't have to do as much work anymore, so I work anywhere from 0-12 hours a day on IM.

When I create a new product, then I start hitting 12 hour days.

i design a timetable for myself. i paste my timetable on my bedroom door. morning 2 hours drive traffic. evening 2 hours send emails.

I spend most my day in the tiddy bars here on the sunny coast.

say about 8 hours a day. And only 3 hours a day infront of my machine, but those 3 hours are solid, hard core working and very productive I must say! LOL
