How long did it take you to start earning?

There is a lot of variables/moving parts here.

Google changes algorithms without warning.

Plus traffic can be unpredictable.

1 year asking too many question in this forum the to the wrong people. Then i joined a team that had many successful people and it took me few weeks to start getting results and few months to quit my job. The best thing is i didnt have to create a product!

Literally that depends always from someone who is experience to someone who is not. Honestly, I can say there is no set time of any amount that anyone can say it will take. When I started making money i didn't knw where the heck it was coming from . Things like this, will determine because there is really no time that determines how long and when you will start earning.

Seems to me that a lot of entrepreneurs who put hard work, time and effort into their online business had it pay off into a full-time income within six-months to a year. It depends on what you promote, what traffic you get, what niche you're in, which mistakes you make, who you listen to, etc.

Depends. How much traffic will your blog get? What kind of traffic? What niche will your blog be in?

It might take some people 3 years, others 3 months. There are no statistics available (so far as I'm aware) to draw averages from. It doesn't take long at all to start earning with Adsense - so long as you're getting a few hits a day, it's only a matter of time before you earn something. Probably take a few days/a week at most. It won't be a fortune, but you will be earning.

What ever you do with your blog, don't rely your income on Google-based traffic. Diversify your traffic-sources and diversify your income streams (Ad sense, Amazon, CB/JVzoo, own products, email list, etc)

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. That's why, I'm programming online automation tools (eg. customer lead finding tool) to giveaway where they will load my affiliate links to users at the end of their sessions. Hopefully, users would buy from these affiliate links and I earn commissions.

From my experience is is the case of time vs money. If you go the blogging route and you have the time, the yes it is going to take time....how long will deppend on a lot of things. Keywords you target, competition, manual back-links. Different kind of traffic will take various amounts of time.

As far as promoting for Amazon is concerned, if you set up a review site for electric drills for instance, you can have traffic and sales fairly quickly if you start driving traffic from youtube with a video review for instance. As some others have said, the are so many moving parts. The most important thing is to start somewhere, take some action and keep going.

If you have something of value to give away and set up a basic sales funnel you can build a list and send solo ads to it if you want to invest some money. If your sales funnel convert you can start to earn money fairly quickly and have some subscribers to start building a relationship with.

It's difficult to predict. It depends on so many things that no one can say how long it will take. If you have a good mentor and you work hard, I think you could reach your goal in six months.

You might get a better idea of how soon you will start making money only after you get started, see how your blog is received, how many people appreciate your writing and what value do they give your blog: informative or entertaining, or simply useful in any other way. Once you get a picture of how well your product is received you will know how much you still have to work on it. If it is poorly received, you might have to rethink the concept, do some things over. If it is well received, you will still have a lot of work ahead of you, but you will feel better motivated and probably won't feel time go by the same way. Best of luck!

Those people started as total newbies... If you know how to write very high quality posts that people really want to read and you know how to promote them you'll have no problem getting up to 100$ a day within a few months, from there on, your income will increase very fast every month if you know what to do.

There's no normal rate -- and for me at least, my earning and success has been exponential.

There are far too many variables in order to determine any rational statistics.



How are you going to share your content?

Will you be innovative and outgoing?

Or sit around and wait for Google to find you?

Will you implement social media?

Will you have any blog posters who help get your site over?

Will your content be great? Will people share it?

Will they read it?

Will they give a damn?

Will they share it on their social media platforms?

Everything depends on your efforts. It is better for you to think that you will start earning not so fast because if you will think that you will have 500 bucks after 3 months and you won't achieve that - you will definitely stop doing it.

Just do it without thinking about money and it will come. With big efforts it can come after 6 months or so.

Look, if you want to make money fast and I mean - NOW, offer services. Articles, graphics, backlinking, commenting, whatever.

If you choose to earn via websites, Amazon and all that stuff, it takes some time to setup - and that greatly depends on your niche, your funds etc.

I made my first buck very quickly, from forum posting.

Making a buck here and there is not very hard, but making a significant income can be tricky.

It just depends on what programs or products you are selling or promoting. For instance, if you simply try to sell an item on Ebay, you will most likely earn money right away. But, if you are building a blog that depends on your readers to come by and then buy products or click on ads, it will take you longer to earn. Going directly to the place where buyers are instead of having them come to you, is a better way to earn money. And, there are many sites that allow you to put your products up for the consumers to purchase.

No, the real rate is 98% of people never make a single penny online. They are involved in IM for 2 - 3 months and when they realize that there is no push button magic bullet solution they quit...

It depends on how hard you work and how systematic/methodical you are. Your question doesn't have a RIGHT ANSWER because it all DEPENDS ON YOU.

A blog is not a fast money-making method, it is time consuming, and you have to drive a lot of traffic to your blog if you want to make some money. You have to update your blog with good content all the time, and write about the same topic for years. This is not a simple matter if you are not an expert. You will have to waste time with research.

My blog is mainly helping me sell my products and driving traffic to my pages. I’m also making some money with ads. It didn't have a good ranking the first three years. Now it does. It’s my best link, but it was more than hard to get there.

I did within my first year! It is a learning curve do not be discouraged!

It took me a few months before I finally found the needle in the hay stack.
But once you do find it, you wont ever be difficult to find it again and again if necessary.

It really is all about consistency and persistence.

I had to get over my "newest shiny object" obsession before I started seeing a return for my efforts. Find something workable and stick with it. Don't let anything else distract you.

really depends....I had a bit of experience before I started with Amazon so I knew about things like niche selection, creating a website and promotion. Even then, a website could take a few weeks before you see any profit. Depends where you find your visitors. If you are trying to rank your site in the search engines it will take a while. If you go to forums where people are interested in the products your site is offering it may be quicker.

Only thing is do I have to stick with a niche or can I have multiple niche in the same blog?

It really does depend on you and your efforts. Smart people can make money right out of the gate for various reasons...Impressive business sense/acumen being the main reason. Other people will struggle for months/years, and even others will never make money and quit.

My advice is to keep testing and trying different ideas, techniques, programs etc etc. and...you can only fail if you give up. Cheers!

I used to make a load of sales through Amazon. Now I only send them around 6 visitors a month. Google has pretty much crushed that income source for me - thank goodness I had a lot of other sites and monetization strategies that didn't involve Amazon and HubPages.

I really have made much in the past 10 months I've been blogging. I haven't really been fully committed though either.

It's all relative. Some make money on day 1, some start earning on year 8. All depends. Don't let it be a benchmark for you though. Put your marketing on overdrive.

My best advice to you would be to just jump right in. After the first couple months you will start to have a feel for where your blogging is going. I know people that have started blogging and made their first money in a matter of weeks. But I also know people that they have taken a year to make money. Its also depends on what your selling. If you are selling really high end products you probably wont start off making a ton of sales. But I promise you that you can make blogging work. You can make anything work as long as your take action and don't give up.

when I finally got off my ass and started to build lists, and offer value my whole world changed. I was able to get married and bought a house without a loan. LOL. So I have done pretty well.

But oh boy the book I could write to get here, break ups, family disputes, drunk car rides home, drugs, tearing hair out, screaming, emotional rollercoasters.... but it is what it is. Life was not make to be boring for me. LOL.

the years of pain I suffered, was all worth it i think. Because if you have a passion, and a dream, you need to listen to your instinct it is your life, and no one elses. Never give up, keep reading warrior forum each day and then TAKE action...if you can do this, and keep going, even when the chips are down you will do well.

It took me years to get it going, but I have many people in the forum here to thank, and some of the info in here is insanely good. Right now I make about 50 times what I use to make in a crappy 9 to 5er, but its so good knowing I will never have to work for a fat overweight donut eating boss till the day i die.

You don't always have to blog to earn money online. In the traffic exchange industry you can start earning right away, but of course, it isn't 500.00 a month at the start.

I built a blog about a topic I was interested in Triathlons and monetized it with Amazon and Adsense. I didn't even know what a backlink was at that point (2009ish). Then someone when to the site and clicked on an Amazon link and bought a $2,000 computer server so I pocketed $100 bucks or something. That was the start.

It's true about how getting from $0 to $1 per day takes longer than $1 to $10 and 1-10 takes longer than $10 to $100. The revenue growth curve is exponential.

Here is roughly how it went for me:

2009: <$500
2010: <$500
2011: $1000
2012: $2,500
2013: $30,000

The growth from 2012 to 2013 was just a function of scale.

As per my experience .... One can easily earn money online "here and there" ...within 1 year being online...However the important part is to earn money on a consistent basis.
It took me more than 4 long years for reaching to a consistent level.

And Consistency comes when you do something which is aligned with your inner-self.

After being in the internet marketing world, we all learn some basic skills but after few months, we tend to like some of those work, while others jobs...we may be doing due to compulsion of doing as other have told you to do that or you may be seen that others are earning money while doing this job. But in my opinion, what others are doing and enjoying may not be true for you.

As in my case, i don't like to write articles (though I have written articles for many marketers which was then appreciated by them as well). But what I like the most is....building websites....tewaking the codes and watching the magic of codes on the browsers ....this is what I like. But to just understand this and sticking to this thought...I invested years.

It gives me joy after feeling satisfaction of my clients with the sites I build or after solving their problems with their website's. So, here What I have done is....I like making websites....So, I Started solving the problems of someone by my website creation and problem fixing skills...who need it badly....Thats it...This is the most simplest money making process ....Many of us makes it hard for us.

I was earning $500/month approx 3-months after starting part-time online. The first month I developed content and posted in forums selling an affiliate program that I used. The second month I added additional affiliate programs and developed 2X more content. The third month I launched my own ebook with some great affiliates and earned well over $1K - never went below $500/mo again and have eclipsed that by a great deal many times.

Taking 3-years to make $500 online means that someone is working their online business as a hobby...if you do the proper research and learning up-front, come up with your plan, work your butt off on that plan - it will happen muich sooner for you.
