It's 2004 again - where would you start?

Let me give you first the reason for the title.

I'm looking at Brasil where I'm living and at the stage of IM down here.

I maybe not picked the correct year with 2004 as I didn't worked in IM at that time but I just say that CURRENTLY, IM in Brasil is at about the same level like it was in the US back in 2004. I started in 2007.

This is in respect to IM and Affiliate Marketing in the MMO niche.

What would be your plan to conquer the market if you could go back in time 10 years.

Is it more...

Lots of good free content, cheap small reports, higher up-sells and then high ticket coaching or....

would you jump directly into offering a higher priced products.

Or would you skip all above and show companies how to build an affiliate business online?

Who's business model would you copy in this case.

What are you good at? What do you enjoy doing? What are your skills? Those are the first three things I'd be looking at - in conjunction with what people want, of course.

I'm not sure about 2004 in Brazil, but back in 1998 I launched an email newsletter giving tips on affiliate marketing, and then promoting how-to courses etc. That worked very well for years because there was little competition and not a huge number of newsletters.

However, I wouldn't expect Brazil to follow the same path as the U.S. back in 2004 (or whenever the correct time equivalent is). My prediction is you'll see MUCH quicker progress, so you'll need to move fast if you want to grab any advantage.

A funnel of increasing-value products sounds good me, because you acquire a valuable list of buyers. Disclosure: That not my field - I made my money promoting other people's products, which is much less hassle.

Seems like right now Google, Facebook and Twitter are putting their efforts into mobile ads. Apparently it's still in the early stages of growth. So if Brazil is 10 years behind, then you will be 10 years ahead of the competition who aren't promoting anything to do with the mobile market place. Charge as much for your product or service as you can before the incoming competition forces you to cut your prices.

In 2004, I was still in college, not sure what I wanted to do in life other than make movies and play video games.

    History never repeats.

Asia is somewhat behind the rest of the world. But then again Facebook's future nemesis (LINE) has been created here. The same could happen with Brazil.

I'd go with funneling, preparing the funneling offer, from low price to high price items.... that would be a great leap of your online business model!

I started in 2006 not 2004 but what I'd do is first build up a ton of micro niche sites, then once I have them in place (and earning me some good, hands-free cash) I would concentrate on building 1 or 2 authority sites, each making a good couple times more then tens or hundreds of the micro niche sites after a year or two.

    Cheers!
