Google Search P*ssing Me Off!

Hi Guy's,

I'm trying to record a video of myself doing a Google search on Google's home page for a sales video.

But as soon as I type a letter, it starts to populate the address bar instead of the box I ACTUALLY WANT TO TYPE IN!

Does anyone know how to turn this feature off?

Thanks

Ben

As far as I know, you can't turn it off. It's the new Google "thing".

I guess you are talking about Google instant? You can turn it off here ;-) https://www.google.com/preferences?hl=en&fg=1

    Hope that helps!

Go to settings --> advanced settings and uncheck "Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar".

I don't think you can turn that off ... but you can modify the search screen a bit using a URL like this https://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0 ...

This has been annoying me too lately. If I am typing into the search bar on the Google home page, why the f*** is it entering it into the address bar!!!!

Incognito is the way to go for this. Plus, if your recording video, it makes even more sense...

Another one of Googles 'making life easier' designs -.- Still nothing worse then finding some weird photos of myself on my Google + profile (that I never use), since they were auto-uploaded from my Android phone...

Anyway, a good way to counter Google Instant is to have the phrase ready and copied (control+c) and then just paste it into search. Won't have any problems that way.
