Is anyone making videos from their articles? I'd like to try this since it looks like big "G" loves video. What are you guys doing to make your videos interesting?

Just reciting an article sounds a little dry, but I'm not Steven Speilberg so I'm hoping for some pointers from someone who has done this successfully.

Is there any good information out there on the process?

To make videos from article you just have to use your webcam and start reading what you have wrotten. SENuke is good for video marketing.

I had someone write up an article for use to make a video with and strangely it came out sounding like a PSA. Anyway...

I'm going to record my audio (me reading the article), make a little back beat of some kind using garage band, and then go on a hunt for stock photos.

I will probably add some words (graphically) on the video itself that I am saying for more effect. I will probably try to give the photos some kind of movement as well if I'm feeling really ambitious.

The article has been printed up on a blog already, and I can link the video to that blog page.

      Yes, google loves it.

I am on a mac, and may be using keynote and/or screenflow. I may record initially on my dv camera for the audio so I can use a better microphone.

I like to lay down the audio first (personally) and pop the images in over it so I can time them perfectly.

I created a video using still photos and music background interspersed with text, not Spielberg quality but it looks good to me, results are too early to measure. It was uploaded to numerous video sites using tubemogul (which allows you to tracks its performance.)

Here's one I did about a year ago, from an article I had put on EA:

After the intro, I simply read from the article.

This video still sends some great leads to PCL.

The big "G" loves keyword rich text descriptions that accompany video on many video sharing sites.

It does not love the video itself.

You are right videos do work.

I'm not sure about taking an article and turning the exact article into a video....

I guess certain articles would be better suited for video. Like articles built around the premise of "5 Ways to Speed Up Your PC Today!" or stuff like that.

Screenshot videos and slideshow type videos still can do surprisingly well.

I'm sometimes amazed just how much traffic some of my "crappy" videos get.....LOL.

Kevin, I love your video. I could hardly wait to get to your website by the end of it. What a good example of a video made from an article.

                    Good information from all. Thanks.

Kevin, your example was really helpful. Thanks.

I'm setting up the vid cam now and will try to get something done this weekend. I'll post it back up here if anyone is interested in seeing what I came up with. Thanks for all the good information.
