Making Money From Selfmade Private Game Servers

Hello!
First of all sorry for asking so much questions recently

I see lot's of people are making own private servers for Online MMORPG's.
I used to play some of them in the past and i know peoples buy In-game items with real money like crazy.

So do you guys think you actually can make good money with that?
I know private servers that have loads of active players but i also know some that don't have any.
So some advice would be really great!

    Private servers of MMO's that are currently running? Like private servers for WoW or some such? If so, they go against TOS and I'm fairly certain if you actually make money at it, Blizzard (or whomever else) will go after you.

    If you're talking about just hosting some random web-based MMORPG in hopes of gaining players willing to spend money, you might want to think about the scope of your project. It's no small feat to run something like that, or even create it in the first place.

      Yeah this.
      But you're right, i was sure that it is legal since there are over 1000 Private Servers for that game and it's not a well known one so i was thinking it's okay to do it.
      But after reading the TOS again i think different lol

    I used to be an admin on a runescape private server when they changed the game for the worst. Safe to say i made money but if i had stayed any longer i would have been in big trouble.
