Here's my problem.

I don't know how google places works. I had someone try to get us listed but I don't know if they did something wrong, if the postcard got sent to the wrong house, or what...but I'm not on google places right now.

So searching around I found Yext. I see that they submit to everywhere for you, except google. They weren't super, super expensive but I want to know for $500 that I'm getting something good and I'm not sure if Yext is any good?

I was wondering what options I had?

Is there a service, a warrior, a program, etc. where I could be sure to get my spot claimed on google places and also get all the other submissions that Yext does? Or something of similar value?

This is for a local dog training business and I'd love to have spots where we can send customers to review us, make sure we're showing up everywhere we should, etc.

I'm interested in your feedback. Thanks.

Giving it a bump. Surely someone has an opinion on this.

As far as Google Places goes, it looks like somebody took you for a sucker. You can signup for G Places yourself in about 5 mins and have the letter sent to your office by signing up here: Places for Business ? Google

There is value in having all your listings canonicalized across all channels outside just G Places. Google scrapes data from hundreds of other sources like Yelp, and makes a wide array of decisions relevant to the success of your local listing based on this information. There's a whole industry that does this, a lot of snake oil in it, so just be a little wary when people start PMing you offers.

Thanks for the heads up. Mind a bit more detail? Like how to find the right provider?

Check out DirectoryBug. I'm the co-founder and we created the services based on a huge demand for higher quality business listings that are still affordable. If you have questions let me know.

You can contact with this person. I think he will be able to help you in directory submission including google places submission for much less than $500.
