To Hyphen or Not too Hyphen that is....

I want to start an affiliate based site. Lets say its for toilet reviews. The website was going to be called, ToiletReviews.com but that was taken. Then ToiletReviewer.com but that was also taken. Both sites led to dead links or spam sites, but taken none the less.

Would I be better off calling it Toilet-Reviewer.com or ToiletReviewers.com? Or something like ToiletReviewGuy.com?

Hyphens I heard are kind of bad and look unproffessional. "Reviewers" seems like a bit of a stretch of the word with the "s" on th end. ToiletReviewGuy seems a bit like an amateur blog.

I would personally go for something more catchy opposed to mainstream. Why not twist things up a bit and choose something like..

    dunnyreviews.com

In the end, it's not the domain name which makes a website - as long as the content is good and the marketing is even better, then you're fine.

EDIT: that is Australian slang for a toilet, if you hadn't figured.

no offence but that name sucks and is completely unrelated to the content of the website.

      I desire some keywords here

You probably didn't notice the edit. Additionally, writing "no offence" and then completely degrading my idea is quite funny, lol.

Since you seem to only desire responses that you want to hear, then the domains you suggested are fine.

hai hai...good point..i mean no harm tho..but basically for this site I wanted the name of the domain to be a direct reflection of the sites contents...not really for SEO just for personal choice.

I just wanted the most catchy name within my criteria...obviously ToiletReviews.com would be the most ideal.....I was just asking others opinions or rather the added "s" for "reviewers" or the added hyphen. Was better

            I liked DunnyReview

Howver, why not add a bit o' class form a Brit:
            LooReviews, or LooLooking or LooViews
            BogReviews or BogTastic
            KhaziReviews or KamiKhazi

I'm just building a new site with the name SCRUNGING.COM

            Guess what it's about?

Not published yet, just a test page.

Sorry buddy, but these days all the obvious names are GONE. You have to spend some time, with a thesaurus, pen and paper.

But like it's been sai d before, Google don't really care what the site's called, the crawlers are looking for content - content - content.

I've said my piece, so I'll bog off now.

Any of these is okay Toilet-Reviewer.com or ToiletReviewers.com.

It all depends on your On & Off Site SEO.

Keyword or exact match domains don't matter a bit. I don't like any of the names you want. I'd much rather have a branded domain. Google does not give domain names preference based on keywords any longer and hasn't for a long time. I actually like the dunnyreviews name a lot. Has more character, but you'd have to be targeting Australia with that name.

I'm not a fan of hyphened domains nor do I rate EMDs much either. I like to try and come up with something original personally. Try and create a brand.

EMD's do not have the juice in Google they used to.

Its better to brand your domain name with something catchy and unique than have long drawn out search phrase as the title, especially if it has to have dashes in it. Just my opinion.

Honestly, if you are not going to promote your website offline there is nothing wrong with using a hyphen, search engines don't frown on them.

The only reason Internet marketers avoid hyphens is because when you tell a client about your website address he might not remember the hyphen part.

Hyphens won't matter as far as getting ranked is concerned.
It's more a case of people are used to typing in domain names without hyphens so go for something without hyphens if possible.

I don't know about others, but if someone has the nerve to call himself the 'Toilet Review Guy,' he's getting my opt-in for sure.

Hyphens - meh. In my opinion, not really as big of a deal as some people make them out to be.
