Hey guys,
Just bought the "Marketing With Alex Elite" course and that's great.. Lot of information in the member's area. Just wondering how much I will need to invest in my online business ? I don't have too much money to put in and have low budget, can I just start with a domain and a hosting?

In fact you can start with $0
    Utilize your available assets
Never spend more then you bring in

If you have funding here is what can be done
    1. Pick a Nich
    2. Grab a Site
    3. Invest in some tools
    4. Put out content linking back to your offer

This will help you start it you utilize this info

Why don't you start doing a freelance job first like article writing ect and after you have collected decent money to invest, you can start a good business online.

Never use HostGator... since they were acquired by EIG in 2011 their services became worse and worse...Also, don't use JustHost, iPage or BlueHost, they are all owned by EIG now.
I can easily get a 1 domain, unlimited BW package from any other host for $5 per month.

There are plenty of good free themes available, plus you can tweak the CSS or use the tools included in some of the more advanced themes to change the appearance, use Gimp to make some graphics, or re-purpose some graphics. Depends how innovative you are feeling.

Yes, I was a HostGator customer 6 months ago. I was happy with their hosting.
However, I found this article and I read it HostGator Alternatives, Part 1: Who is EIG? – The Digital FAQ
After knowing the information, I switched to another, non-EIG host. I was shocked by how I was "fooled" by HostGator by their fancy "guarantees". My website loaded a lot faster with my new web host and I became a lot happier.

Damn! I just struggled to move my site to Hostgator I wouldn't want to do it again but maybe I'll have to reconsider. At least I found a good Elance freelancer to move my sites.

If you are using cPanel hosting, there is a one-click site backup option which will generate a backup file that can be uploaded to another cPanel server to restore your site easily. Why do you need a freelancer to do that?

With IT things never go like in the movies

I had couple of issues with couple of installed software. This guy solved everything for me for $30. I'm happy with that. Instead of struggling with it couple hours myself.

As you may know most business owners do not do the tedious mechanics of the business itself. IT is a painful and awful thing for most people.

                        Hi

As Clint rightly mentioned, do not spend more than you bring in. I would like to add to it "...when there is a conducive opportunity." And in your case in particular or internet marketers in general there is a lot of opportunity of bringing in money before you plan to spend it. Start with trading your time and then move away from it and create assets. Learn and grow while going through the process.

I admit I was not even happy with them daring the change but if you ware happy why did you switch? How did they Fool you? If the sites are loading faster then maybe its something we will be looking into but for some one starting out it most likely will be worth going with a cheaper price with good support.

I read the article and they said that HG's quality are going down. I was not tight in money so I wanted to give another web host a try. By the way, this is my current web host High Speed Web Hosting : SwiftServer Platform : Blazing Fast SSDs. The price ain't expensive and the $5 plan is basically unlimited while the SSD plan is way faster.

The short answer is yes you can indeed start with a domain name, get some hosting install Wordpress, put together a site, or put up a sales page. You will need something to offer your subscribers to get them to sign up-then some products-if you look in my signature you can get some products to sell, learn from them yourself and how to re-purpose private label rights products the correct way. Might sound a bit salesy, but helping others is something I take seriously. There is nothing to buy.

You can start with $0. I remember I made my first money ( $170) on ebay. I auctioned an iphone replica then got it drop shipped from china.

My second source of income were squidoo lenses, again required zero upfront investment.

I am currently a full time offliner, I build websites for business owners and require them to pay at least 50% upfront (which covers my basic investment so essentially it cost me nothing to get started).

    Hello,
If you don't have much investment, just pay for hosting and autoresponder.
Select a niche where you can write proper content and start blogging.
Increase number of subscribers and start list building.
Promote products and sell traffic for income. But it needs huge work and it takes time too!
    Thanks,

Affiliate marketing can be done with FREE methods.

You don't really have to invest in domains and hosting (although it's wise to do that)

All you need is traffic to convert your visitors into customers.

Perhaps you may need to spend $$$ to get traffic so that you can reach out more people. And if you're looking for a cheap/FREE methods to drive traffic, invest in a good traffic course

    Good luck mate

Realistically, without some level of financial muscle you'll need to put in a lot of elbow grease and have modest expectations. Personally, I've been online since Y2k, went full time in '05 and have invested tens of thousands in my projects. No doubt you can start on a shoestring but the online business landscape is far more cluttered than when I started for sure. Just my two cents...

Of course. That's how much I have started with and I currently make $30-$40 today. It's a business, but probably not the one you expect.

Like someone else said, use aWeber to build a list. I personally don't need it desperately, but the truth is that any marketer can definitely use it.

I have a very low budget myself. To me, it sounds like with a domain, hosting, and possibly aWeber, you're set to go. You really don't need anything else, unless you want to hunt for an IM mentor. If you do look for one, I suggest RW Biggs (visit Get Leads - Drive Sales). He was my mentor and he changed my online career.

How much it requires? Depends on the type of business.

Look man i wanna be totally honest with you. Its true that you can start an online business for very little money but its almost impossible doin it for free. At least if you want to start a SERIOUS business looking to make big money in the long term. No, am not talkin about paid surveys.

A well read Forbes business magazine article touts that many online entrepreneurs start their business with an investment of between $20 and $1,000

Of course it depends on the business model you use.

Since you have a low budget i suggest you to become an expert at something then offer your services on Fiverr or on many other freelance websites.

See, there's plenty of free info around, or buy a course that will teach you something.

Let's say a photoshop course that will teach you how to create minisite and ecover graphics.. you can become an expert at it and then sell your services on fiverr. Its'a start and will be fast cash. Fiverr can be a goldmine. Some people are literally banking.

You mentioned creating your own products and market em. Very smart idea.

Regard your domain and hosting you could go that route or you could get into reselling hosting through GoDaddy or Host Gator. They have some very affordable plans and you can get some much needed capital to scale up your online business.

But there are many others you can start with very little. Here's another idea; have you ever thought of selling advertising on Youtube videos?

I've tried fiverr already and it seems great but the problem is I've never done freelancing before and I find it very difficult for anyone to take a chance on me also I don't have much skills, I don't know how to promote my services.. like writing Good description, images, quality gigs etc..

It depends on your business model. Some can be started with $0 (using free media sites to promote affiliate products, for example), many more can be started with less than $100 (register your own domain and hosting and then do whatever you want with it).

I feel that this is the slowest and the most painful route. If you don't invest anything, you really aren't getting anything. And if you only invest your time, you are going to lose a lot of it before you make any real results
