Really feeling bad today. I just want to give up the whole IM thing. Nothing I try seems to make me money. I can't manage to go above $100 a month and that's not enough to live with, of course.

Since I became visually impaired this was my last chance to manage to do something. I guess it's time to take a huge rock and head towards the sea. I've finally realized that getting traffic, links and selling on line are all fan fiction.

    That would be a negative...
keep trying, some people go for years w/ out making a dime! Be persistant you will get to where you want to be. Stick with one thing at a time & don't overload yourself. Sometimes that one idea or method is right under our noses that can change the outlook of your new I'm career future wise.

      It's not fan fiction.

You'll have to live like a poor college student until everything comes together.

Just analyze everything you're doing and make sure your plan is virtually flawless. Get a day job if you have to and take all of your online profits and put them back into your website or a new website.

I hope you can make it, I hate seeing people not succeed

See that tagline under your user name... the one YOU wrote? "Conquering the Universe"

    WTF... act the part.

Quit feeling sorry for yourself and whining and refocus.

If you need help with something... starts threads on here and be "specific" in the areas you need help with. There are plenty of people on here that will offer you guidance.

Stop thinking failed attempts are actually failure. You know what doesn't work for your particular process... learn from that.

Listen to Dave, that is damn good advice. Time to change your approach, yes. Quit, no. Get around people who are having success and be ready to put in the work. I just now am probably able to live off of my site and facebook pages, after 5 years of work. People go to school for 4 years to be a effin PE teacher for god's sake! Arthur,

I debated about whether to even reply to your post. I DO understand the frustration and wanting to quit. You're not the only introvert with physical limitations.

You've already received A LOT of advice/encouragement here. Unfortunately, you seem determined to remain a victim since you posted this reply:

When did his career start for real? It wasn't his magic links or superb products (they are awesome but so are many others from people who fail everyday); it was when Yaro featured him on his blog. I've tried to knock on many doors. Started aiming low, but I am not managing to make any decent human contacts even from PR1 site owners. And yes, it's depressing. Some said I am incompetent in making money, but they are totally wrong on that. I am incompetent on making friends. Have always been like that.
        Tough love alert:

If you want to quit, then quit. But QUIT WHINING! Grow up!

EVERYONE who starts a business starts from zero. You're not special. The universe hasn't singled you out for an extra helping of hard knocks.

Like everyone else here, I have a lot of sympathy for your frustration. Been there, done that. (And I have significant physical problems which cause a lot of pain and severely limit my mobility. So I "get" physical problems -- more than you know.) But when you keep coming up with excuses, my sympathy evaporates completely.

Bottom line: you need to get a solid business foundation, period. We all dream of the perfect JV which will funnel rabid buyers our way and virtually build our business FOR us.

That's just not how it works. You're focusing on just ONE marketing method and then letting it stop you before you even get started. That's not the mindset of a real business owner.

A real business owner knows he needs to focus on several different marketing methods.

JVs should be only ONE method in your bag of tricks. Even when you get a JV, it may not go the way you want because frankly, it's out of your control and your partner's first priority is HIS business, not yours. So what do you do when he mails late or not at all? Or decides at the last minute not to publish your blog post?

And you won't ALWAYS have a JV in the works. To make consistent, reliable income, you need other other arrows in your quiver, arrows you have complete control over. Arrows like PPC, videos, social media, articles, etc. Google and backlinks should be lowest on your priority list because you have so little control over it, as you've discovered.

You need to build relationships to get JVs. But you also need verifiable results. JVs and affiliates want to know specific things like conversion rates, earnings per click (EPC), etc. If you're doing nothing else (because you're waiting for a JV), then you'll have nothing to show them -- and you REALLY won't get JVs and affiliates.

        It's a vicious cycle.

So how do you break it? Start small and focus on making a small, consistent monthly income. You're already making $100 which is a lot more than others are making. So work on increasing it to $500/month.

If you want to stay in the MMO niche, then realize you'll face a lot of prejudice and will be labeled a spammer much of the time. You need to grow a thicker skin or get into a different niche.

Also, you need to do this with integrity. If you're not making money online, then you need to stop teaching it. HOWEVER, you can still do it with integrity if you do it as an affiliate, selling products and services in the MMO niche from others who ARE making good, consistent income online.

And remember: build a list, Build a List, BUILD A LIST!

Put an opt-in form on your site above the fold. People should haven't to scroll to see it. Then focus on building your list. Send them regular, helpful info in the form of autoresponders or an e-mail newsletter. Intersperse your helpful info with pitches for related, helpful products and services.

Once you have your process created, then it's time to focus on getting traffic. If you don't know how to do it consistently and reliably, then that's where you need to focus. Fortunately, there's lots of help out there for it.

Getting traffic will ALWAYS be something you need to do for the life of your business.

        Some points about getting traffic:

        1. Basically, you can divide your traffic activities into two categories: 1) short-term and 2) long-term. You need both.

Pay-per-click (PPC) traffic costs money and is GREAT for getting a jumpstart and seeing results NOW (like, in just 15 minutes). There are free traffic methods too, like articles, but they are much slower and are a more long-term traffic strategy.

        You need both.

        2. Focus on WHO your target audience is and go where they are.

The mistake many Warriors make is trying to do it ALL. They end up exhausted, with no results. The key is to focus on just a handful (say 5) and do them over and over again. So pick the methods that best fit YOUR business and audience. Remember to include 1-2 fast-traffic methods and make the other 3 more long-term strategies.

It's VERY IMPORTANT to understand the online marketing process first. Online success is pretty basic and follows the same basic process for everyone, no matter what niche they're in:

Traffic > Opt-in page (to build your list) > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) (to follow up with your list) > Sales page

A sample traffic list could look like this:

        1. Social Media
        2. PPC
        3. Direct mail
        4. JVs
        5. Video

So those traffic sources lead to your follow up systems like this:

        1. E-zine/newsletter
        2. E-mail
        3. Direct mail

Which then lead to the actual conversion (sales) points like these:

        1. Solo ads
        2. Teleseminars
        3. Webinars
        4. Direct mail

These are where actual presentations and offers are made. They are generally the point of sale, where someone makes a decision to buy. To be successful with traffic, you need to reverse engineer the process and know where you're going before you start. Whether you're leading to a webinar, teleseminar or whatever will influence what traffic methods you use.

With all of that said, here are some resources for learning how to get traffic:

Once you get started, you'll see recommendations for other resources. If it makes sense for your audience and business, then do it it. If not, don't, no matter how bright and shiny the newest, latest, greatest offer is.

        Hope that helps!

I don't have time to read this entire thread but 'this too shall pass' because nothing good or bad lasts forever.

Go ahead and talk about about wrapping a rope around your neck and throwing yourself into the sea...if that makes you feel better. You won't do it anyway or we'd see it on the news already.

If you can be specific as to what exactly you want to do, then you will get what you ask for. That means what YOU want to do, NOT what some guru said you should learn to do if you want to make a lot of money.

Forget money and concentrate only on what YOU like doing because that's what you're good at. Nobody is going to pay you for work you can't do but they will pay you top dollar for whatever you're the best at doing.

Now spill it. ALL of it. Even if it sounds dumb. Who cares? Nobody. People only care about WHY you want to do something, not WHAT you want to do. I'll be back to check your reply and I bet you I've got something you can take over free and clear...100% yours. Be careful what you wish for because you're going to get it.

Thank you, guys. I just feel very down. I lost some links I worked really hard for, friends make fun of my efforts, no money in and something I was putting a lot of energy in isn't working at all. My site has just 200-400 impressions a day and no visitors despite I put a lot of hard work in it. It's really depressing.

Take a walk when you feel like this. Change of pace/scenery will help you shake that feeling.

As for the friends... eh... get used to that. People use criticism as a guard for their own difficulties whether they realize it hurts or not. "Projection" Thicken your skin up because that's part of the game.

How abotu this - Grab a sheet of paper and make a line down the middle. On the left make a list of tasks you are performing that are not giving you any results. On the right... make a list of tasks that are producing a positive result. I don't think I need to tell you which column to expand and work on. Always be raedy to refocus your efforts. This is how you improve. Incremental improvements can get you as far as you need to go. Seriously.

Focus on what is working and get rid of this negative vibe because it will drag you under water if you're not careful.

I think a lot of us have felt this way. I know I did when I spent over a 60k in three years on a network marketing company only take not even make 2k. After three years.. I FELT LIKE GIVING UP! Then when I left that company and bombed out in two more network marketing companies while my friends and family watched from the sidelines I FELT LIKE GIVING UP!
        But don't.
The mountain always looks big while your at the bottom.
It wasn't that I was a loser, it was that I just didnt' have the right avenue to make the type of money I wanted to make.
I went on to stumble upon yet a forth venture and begin to sign Helleluyah.
Looking back I am glad for my trials and tribulations because now I am able to help more people because I HAVE BEEN THERE. So brotha keep on pushing on, don't give up I don't care how many different avenues it takes you to where you want to go. Eventually you'll get there all because you didnt' give up!!!

Ditch those friends and find some friends who will support you and big you up. You could look for people who have already made it to where you want to be and hang out with them instead. I think this will make a lot of difference. It is something I am working on too - associate with the right people, show you are a hard worker and you will get their encouragement, experience and help.

I've been in your position. 7 years ago when I started out. After I discussed with friends about this they told me that I should stop talking about this because I will never make money online. They told me that the only way to be success is to get a job to a big company. That was their limited vision on the world. We were in college but they did not even tried to get hired by some big company. I told them that at least I do something along with going to ******* classes.

Less than 3 months later ( about 9 months since I started my first website ), my site got into google and I started to make few hundreds of dollars a month. That was a great success for me and I really wanted to go back and to make those "friends" to swallow their words. However, I realized that they it is no reason to consider them friends and that they will always drag me back in my success. I never spoke to them again.

IM is not that easy. There is a high rate of failure. Ask anyone to tell you about their failures. They exist but we never think of them as failures, but as learning process. Maybe you are not on the right track.

      Ask yourself the following questions:
      * Do you enjoy to write and talk about the topic of your website ?
      * Is there any real interest in this topic ?
      * Is the topic too competitive ?
      * How the website generate money ? Can the website generate enough money from achievable traffic ? ( if you need 1 million visitors a month to make $1,000 then it does not worth it )
      * Can you provide something better than your competition ?

The only people who don't succeed are those that quit. If you are talking about driving traffic to a blog for AdSense or something, then either write a few articles of the highest quality, or if you can't write that good, buy them from iwriter.com, and only buy their top rated writers. get at least three titles in your niche, and offer them to the high traffic blogs in your niche. Request a link in the article for their use of the articles. And then put your link with your information at the end, with your keyword.

If you can't get some traffic with that, then I don't know what to tell you other than you are doing somersetting wrong.

It took me almost 5 years of making less than $100 a month from Internet Marketing to finally achieve success. Everything I learned during that time helped me at the end to really develop an online business that was successful enough to make real money so things you learned were not for nothing.

My advice to you is to ask yourself honestly, is the content and websites I'm putting up truly helping people and is it something that gives value or are you just taking shortcuts and selling?

I finally stopped taking shortcuts, found things that really helped people, and sold products people wanted to buy anyways and I went from making nothing a month for years to $150 a month to $4,000+ a month currently.

Keep your head up, and put in the hard work. It pays off.

Don't take it so hard. You are obviously frustrated and with good reason.
Just know that IM is not for everyone, a very small percentage actually make a viable living online.

Most of these blowhards boasting about how much they make online, take it with a pinch of salt, a lot of what you read on forums is pie in the sky....

Step away for a while, clear your head and either give it another shot or try and find another way to support yourself.

Don't give up on your dreams. Dwelling on the negative is a downward spiral. Everyone has tough times. Many have made it and then lost it all. Then gone back up better than ever. People who don't succeed online or offline lack: persistence, a clear vision, the plan(s) to accomplish said vision.

What exactly have you "tried"...? Never mind, i know you've tried a million things, thus spinning your wheels.

Focus on 1 thing that all the successful marketers/businessmen are doing. Its time tasted and works and will always work. Online or offline.

Have Something To Sell. Find a hungry market, create an info product - simple eBook and sell it to them. Release 1 or 2 products every couple of months, and before you know it, you've made it and make 6 figures. There is no secret or magic to this. Have Something To Sell. Offline or online, same principle.

You buy food, right? Well that's a business Selling you something. You buy toothpaste, right? Again, someone is Selling you something. Same thing applies online.

Delete all that junk in your computer.

I do +$500k a year online and I cant even figure out how to make money with content and adsense pages..but I can make money doing other things with ease that I've discovered over the years.. things that there are no forums, no ebooks, and no information about and that is why they make money. Your just barking up the wrong tree and need some redirection.

If this does not work, then try that. Never ever give up your dream. One method may suit a person but not another. It is really hard to tell until your try it out.

But the important to remember is : don't do the same thing over and over again, hoping to get different results

Arthur, I checked your twitter and I assume your site is The Money Earning Sites Central, right?

First of all, are you building a list?

I would assume you are because you do have an opt-in form under "My Newsletter", but here are the problems I see:

Your opt-in form is way, way below the fold. Meaning that it's not on the very top of the page for people to see right away and they're forced to scroll down.

Your opt-in form is joking about spamming. This might be funny to you, but absolutely nobody in their right mind is going to sign up because they won't get the joke.

I know you want to add some humor in your site, but these mistakes are probably what's preventing you from really earning any money.

Other than those, your content is fine. Use that content to BUILD YOUR LIST of subscribers and market to them that way.

OK, you you're down, but you're not OUT until you say so.

My advice is to take a few months off. Walk the dog, do as little as possible, just THINK and keep thinking. By the way, if you don't have a dog, it's worth getting one just so you can ensure you do enough walking and thinking.

Thing is, you need a new approach; not necessarily a new plan, but something needs to change and, in your head, the answer is waiting for you.

Yeah, get a dog...my wife's Australian Shepherd changed my life (along with my wife, of course).

Don't beat yourself up over this, most people don't even make $100/month...or $100 period. Consider yourself ahead of the curve.

Like others have said, take a step back and examine what's been working, and what has not been working. The answer will reveal itself.

Although you're not seeing the returns that you'd like, you've taken action and you've seen some results. What I would suggest is have a few friends or members take a look at what you've done so far. In doing so, they will be able to help you point out areas that you could tweak with your sites that you might be overlooking.

There's a lot of good advice here about why you shouldn't give up.

But I'm here to tell you that you should give up.

      That's right.

GIVE UP your thoughts of giving up.

GIVE UP the company of people who talk negative and de-motivate you.

GIVE UP the self-pity and the "I can't do it" mindset.

GIVE UP procrastination and start taking massive action.

GIVE UP everything that distracts you from your goal.

      That's it.

        To the OP -

You need to go back to the thread from last month and READ it. You had some great advice - and you ignored most of it.

Your site is not poorly designed - but it is unfocused and has the wrong topic. You are talking about "make money online" and admit on the site you don't make money online yourself. You are trying to sell hosting to people to build "money making sites" while telling people this is your first site and it makes no money.

It's a newbie site of "watch me while I learn to make money online" - full of motivational thoughts and personal problems and not a commercial site! You are trying to combine making money with having a diary - it won't work and others have tried to tell you that.

You need a better niche - a focused plan that is "what I can offer YOU" instead of "what I need from you". You can't convert the traffic to sales that way.

You don't have to be an expert - you just have to know a little more than the people you are trying to sell to. Find a niche where you KNOW something and can help others - THEN you can sell and make money.

If you need to have a place where you can talk about your hardships and problems - run a personal blog just for that. If you want to make money - stick to business on your blog and choose a niche you have some knowledge or experience with.

People always say "never quit" - but if you are doing the wrong things you can do it year after year ....and it still won't work!

But I came on here, and asked for some advice, and I've had some already.

I know how you feel, and so does everyone else here probably - when you feel low is the worst time to quit. At the very least, sleep on it. Things always seems better at the start of a day. Thanks for all the advice. You guys are very motivated, and I am too BUT the thing is that the people around me put me down all the time. Those who are closest to me think that I am "fooling around and wasting my time" and my life with what they call "child play." Some friends call me "the spammer." Others keep getting me job interviews for MacDonalds and insist that is how I should live my life. I wish I had friends in the Internet marketing field, but all those I met here or elsewhere aren't interested in helping me or making friends or joint ventures. It's something else they want and I won't even waste time saying what that is (green and made of paper and not a green toilet roll). It's very hard when you believe in something deeply, but are so alone in your quest and nothing works.

It's time to surround yourself with more supportive people. If those closest to you think you're "fooling around", well.... I have NO idea if they are correct or not, because I'm not privy to what you're actually spending your time on.

When I first got started 14 years ago, I had a lot of naysayers, mostly aquaintences and co-workers at the time. But my true and real friends supported me. Maybe not directly, but they did NOT make fun of me.

Who you surround yourself and habitually spend your time with says just as much about you as it does them. So I think you really need to take a day or two all to yourself with a notebook and figure out what the heck you really want to do.

Get complete CLARITY on what you want out of life and out of this business.

I wish I had friends in the Internet marketing field, but all those I met here or elsewhere aren't interested in helping me or making friends or joint ventures. It's something else they want and I won't even waste time saying what that is (green and made of paper and not a green toilet roll). You have total and complete control over this.

Before I bagged my first JV partner I INVESTED time in helping others. I built relationship; these take TIME to build.

Look, go into this forum's mastermind forums and look for like-minded people in there. Look for free to low cost seminars (yes, they are out there). A lot of Warriors raved about the Warrior seminars they've been having at least once a year, so you should keep an eye for that (contact Sam England so get more info- use the search feature).

Lastly, remember, it doesnt really matter what others think of you, only what YOU think of yourself. Most people have employee mentality's so of course they are going to think that what you are doing is a waste of time.

Make sure you find a niche, sell a product or service to solve a specific problem or set of issues, make sure you deliver a GREAT experience from the beginning, through the sales process, and ever after with the follow up, while building your own database of customers and you'll succeed at this beyond what you're achieving now.

Stop talking business with these people. Negative energy vampires will suck your life dry. Seriously, there's no reason for you to talk shop with them. You talk shop with people that are interested... like people on here.

I can count my true friends on half of one hand. Seriously. My husband is one of them, another friend is also a disabled, struggling online marketer.

The rest of my "life" is right here inside the monitor of my office. Period.

But then, I've always liked my solitude. So for the time being, be happy with yourself and your solitude until you find others that have the same passions as you offline.

    Arthur,
I've made a lot of friends here on WF who are very supportive and helpful. But it was long after 17 posts. No one makes friends that quickly in real life or on the internet. Why would someone do a joint venture with someone they hardly know and has no track record?

If your real life friends are that unsupportive it may be time to make some new friends.

However, if you're making $100 a month then maybe getting a job, even at McDonalds, is a good idea. You can pay your bills and raise some cash to pump into your internet business. Most of us started our businesses on the side while working full-time.

Many of us have felt like quitting at one time or another. Only you can decide if you have the guts to stick it out -- even on the days when you feel alone.

This is the same advice I'd give my own 24 year old son.

The first few years my company was in business, we only averaged 50 hits a day and did fine. We still don't focus on large traffic #'s, and have never needed millions of clicks.

A couple tips, to add my 2-cents:

      - Focus on growing a business, not a fad with spammy junk ads, ie nothing but loops of ads that irritate people and lead them away....FAST!

      - Put yourself into it. What do you do? Have a service in there that you offer and invite people to contact you, customizing the service to fit their needs and budget.

      - Have plenty of ways that people can contact you on the site, not just a form and / or PO Box. Have your social media widgets, email, phone / text #, etc.

      - Don't worry about fancy bells-and-whistles for now. A basic HTML site still works for earning even 6-figures, so don't stress over perfection. Just grow the business.

      - Hire a coach or mentor to help you. I enjoy this type help and have hooked up with several great coaches / mentors here.

      Here's to your success!

I really hate threads like this. It's an extremely negative headline that stands out like a fly on an ice cream cone. It's a great BIG downer in the midst of thousands of people, many of which, are trying to better themselves, increase their finances and build a better life.

I've built six profitable businesses since September, 2000 and all have crashed and burned. Some of it was my fault and some of it wasn't. Although I have had to take time and gather myself before planning my next move, giving up has NEVER been an option!

If you need help in your life perhaps you should see a counselor, mental health professional or clergy?

That wasn't meant to be mean or sarcastic. I've personally done all of the above and I'm not ashamed or embarrassed in any way. We're all only human and sometimes things become overwhelming. There's no shame in venting (in the appropriate setting) and getting guidance.

If your mindset isn't right you need to set everything else aside until it is. Mindset is everything!

Get rid of all negative people in your life right away!!! Yes, even if it's family. There are some people that you have no choice but to love them from a distance. I know.

Bottom line, if you need help, ask for it. If you've decided to give up on your dreams and quit, then quit, but please do it quietly and be respectful of others by not posting negativity for everyone to see on your way out.

Find a problem that you have an interest in and focus on creating a site that helps folks with that problem (NOT selling to them first). Focus on good information, not a sales pitch. That can come a little later, once you've built some trust and started on a list.

The key is find something that you can help solve. When you focus on helping folks, you'll find that your bank account will start growing. I was focused on the money when I started. Didn't get anywhere. Then I focused on helping people with great content, and things grew. Now, I'm working with a group of 6 figure earners as a coach, again helping folks with IM. And it's effortless or at least it feels like it. The money comes, once you start being your best instead of chasing it.

    Hey Arthur,

I like your name, don't meet many people with that name anymore.

If you've ever been reject, humiliated, spit upon, laughed at, and ridiculed, then you've have had great training my friend. That's what salesman go thru everyday.

Now, you have a decision to make. You can go thru life being rejected and be dirt poor, or you can go thru life being rejected and make a fortune.

I wish someone would have put it that way to me a long time ago, it took me years to figure it out on my own.

As for me, hell, I can be rejected. People do it all the time, and now I get excited about it

I'm reading between the lines on this one. You've received some great, well meaning advice here and you should head that.

However, there's more going on here, I think, than lack of success.

You say you recently "became visually impaired" and I'd like to know more about that because that's something I deal with, too.

I know, for me, that was the causation of depression and other things.

I am successful but that took a slip until I backed off and handled my health (vision) issue and the hopeless depression THAT caused.

So I implore you to stick to the IM stuff because I know it works and make a handsome living BUT also, take care of yourself too. Address whatever you can with the vision and whatever feelings of hopelessness that diss ability is causing.

Maybe what you need is someone to hold you accountable and to help you stay focused and following through with action... the "right" action.

I do not have the money to pay a coach. I approached a few people and offered them all my earnings for two months as a payment for their training, but none of them ever replied to me. And that honestly makes me think that they aren't so confident about the results.

        Really??
Dude, people's time is worth money. Nobody is going to offer you free coaching upfront, for one simple reason: Someone can be the best coach in the world, but they can't guarantee you'll take action or follow the course of action they lay out.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but blaming the coach for not taking the huge risk that you (like most others out there) won't act on their teaching, is ludicrous.

I know how you feel OP. It's getting pretty hard to rank anything these days. Gone are the days when you could write pages that were guaranteed to earn at least $5 a month each.

But the good news is that there are all kinds of other days of making money that don't involve AdSense, articles or even niche sites. Now I'm living in Thailand I meet a lot of people making money from online stuff, and only a few actually have niche sites monetized with AdSense.

If you've ever had a day job then think hard about anything that could be spun off from it. I based my old software business on some software tools I used at one of my employers.

Have you watched this before? I recommend listening to it a few times. It is worth it.

Being successful online is not fan fiction. I don't know how you are approaching your internet marketing campaigns but I recommend first, ask yourself, are you approaching internet marketing the right way? You use internet marketing to develop a campaign that aims to attract a target audience to a product or service that you represent. In order to do this properly you must understand your target audience, specifically, what would attract them to buy your product or service and where do they look to buy it.

Only 1% Marketers get success. Unfortunately maximum WSO says "Easy Money" "Fast money" type of words, but eventually 99% of them are useless or impossible to follow or don't work as they describe. Their fake promises makes the people impatience. Every one thinks it is really easy to make money online, they will be rich very soon.

But the Truth is it is hardest thing ever to make money online. Lots of hard work, lots of patience is necessary to get success even needs to invest a good amount of money on it.

As for so many, the last two years were difficult for me due to Google slaps which basically led to all my passive income coming to a halt which I had from websites. SEO, ranking websites and then simply sitting back and having the money coming in today is almost impossible. You cannot simply make "an affiliate site" anymore and then basically have a guarantee for a steady flow of money - or at least not that easy as it was two years ago.

BUT....as long as you have a PC and internet...there is ALWAYS something to do since the field of IM is incredible vast. For example, I more or less switched entirely to offering services like making web sites or writing content.

You have to be flexible. Don't focus on only one way of income. Negativity won't get you anywhere, it will only stop you from doing.

Hey Arthur, congrats on making it to $100 per month. Most people can't even get to that level.

I'm going to contradict almost everyone in this thread and tell you straight:

Quit doing IM. If you hate it, why do it?

What's the point in doing something that makes you miserable? Why make yourself feel so bad?

Follow your gut. It's telling you to quit, right? So quit.

But as you quit, don't lie to yourself. You said:

That's bullshit. Just because you can't sell something online doesn't mean it's fan fiction. Don't play the victim card.

Quit if you want to, but quit honestly and with integrity. There's no shame in saying "I tried it, I didn't like it, and now I'm going to do something else that I enjoy"

You don't have to prove anything to anyone.

Just quit. And stop making yourself miserable!

Thanks to everyone for encouraging me. I appreciate your support, guys. I wish the people around me would give the same kind of encouragement instead of trying to make me feel ashamed for what I am trying to achieve, as if I am committing some sort of "laziness" crime.

Yes, becoming visually impaired hasn't made any good to my morale and self-esteem. I am not blind, but I can no longer draw and design, which means that I can't keep doing the job I used to do before.

    As for the criticisms:

    1) I did take note of the criticisms. It really doesn't matter what the content of my site is. I get like 10-20 unique visits everyday. Sometimes much less. With this kind of traffic, it's a miracle I make a couple of sales a month! Nonetheless, I am redesigning my site based on the criticisms received, but it takes time. I don't have money to outsource anything and with the problems I have with my eyes it takes me twice as much time to complete a task. I didn't ignore anything. Some of the criticisms I don't agree with, particularly saying that I am incompetent. I am not. The SEO I did to my site took my impressions from 0 to 400 per day. I am on pages 1, 2 and 3 for all my low competition keywords. I lost a couple of keywords due to some sob who deleted some of the links I worked so hard for my labeling as spam (which is what compelled me to write this post). But I am not selling smoke. The thing is impressions aren't money and the only difference between me and 90% of the people here is that I am upfront about it where as others will claim that their methods will make everyone a millionaire overnight. I tried to use some of those methods and the truth is they work a lot worse than mine! I don't get money with my methods but at least I do get impressions.

    2) As long as there is no specific rule about it, I have a right to vent about my IM woes on this forum. It would be sad if they made a rule that says that people should fake out their success and hide their failures. There are already too many folks who already do it without any need for the practice to be encouraged further. I believe people who come here would rather hear the truth. At least those who are facing my same issues (being frowned upon by relatives and friends, never seeing money coming in, having their hard work labeled as spam by IDIOTS) will know that they are not alone.

The point is that there's a way to go about things that are much more effective than posting "I Am Giving Up". That screams "QUITTER!"

It's also very depressing. This is a marketing forum, not a mental health forum.

Many people DO face similar issues as you. Some of us have it much worse, but would never post a thread that said "I Am Giving Up".

Why not try something like "I'm Struggling and Would Really Appreciate Some Advice".

You'd be amazed at the difference. Most people don't have a problem at all taking some time to help someone get on track, but I don't know many people that will rush to the rescue of someone who's given up.

What if you were on a job site and quit. Do you think you'd have a bunch of your fellow employees chasing you down and trying to talk you out of it? Not likely.

Regarding family and friends, I love my family very much, but I haven't seen most of them in years. They're extremely negative and we don't see things the same at all. They have a "victim" mentality and I refuse to have any part of that. I want more out of my life.

As far as not seeing money come in goes, let's say you worked hard to build an income several times only to have it disappear overnight! If you had nothing coming in then you likely wouldn't have many bills either.

I know of many people that used to be regulars on this forum that were making a great living until Google made sweeping updates and either wiped out their website rankings, closed their Adsense account, closed their Adwords accounts or all of the above.

I lost my Adwords account and 75% of my income overnight. Google changed their algo and wiped out my sites twice.

I built another offline business that was doing VERY well for 15 months and then died overnight when the war in Iraq started. I waited 9 months and started that business over again from scratch and worked it until the recession finally did me in.

I could go on, but I'll stop there.

Now I'm completely rebuilding again, both online and offline. The word "quit" is NOT (normally) in my vocabulary.

It's not my intent to be mean. It IS my intent to get you off your pity pot and make a decision.

Regarding the posting rules, some rules are "unwritten". By the response you've received I'd say that even though some members may be compassionate to your situation (even me - to a point), they still believe you could have handled this differently.

Here's the deal. You need to either get busy working or get busy quitting, but stop posting whiny "woe is me" posts that bring others down with you. That's incredibly inconsiderate!

I wish you well with whatever you decide to do.

refocus - do you have to get traffic, build links and sell? Or could you just build links or just sell. Break it down. McDonald's doesn't raise the cows or grow the potatoes. Focus on one part and become an expert, then earn money. It is really hard to build a site, write the content, build backlinks, promote the site, monetize it and earn money. But it is really easy to just do one of those things.

The path from $1 to $100 is 10 times longer than the path from $100 to $10,000, because the latter is just a function of scale.

I am sorry to hear that you are not making any money online. Making Money online is not an overnight process. It takes time. I have been where you are I think all of us have. I know how hard it is to live on disability I am there right now. What most people do not understand about me is that I was diagnosed with several mental disorders about 2 years ago and I was contemplating taking my life, because doctors and psychologists said this was as good as it gets. I found the business opportunity that I am currently with right before I took myself off of the planet. What was that opportunity selling, They were selling hope. So there is a reason why you started the journey to making money online. Trust me, sometimes it feels like it is not worth it. But it is all worth it. I have learned to enjoy the journey even if I am not making all the money I want to yet. I would like to encourage you to Listen to inspirational audios, Like Tony Robbins on your downtime or when you are working and I would also Encourage You to Read The Book Think and Grow Rich, and The Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. I listen to audios daily and I read books daily. Because making money online is simple. But it is not easy! Do not ever give up on your dreams! It is okay to take a break but never quit! I believe in you, you can do this!

Arthur, the one thing that will completely turn your business around is this. Stop trying to pull sales and money toward you. Instead, focus completely on providing extraordinary value to people in your chosen market.

Read that again please, and burn it into your every day thinking. Everything you do in your business should be bringing you closer to serving others and fulfilling their needs.

Products and services WILL be sold with or without you. When you position yourself as the source people WANT to buy from, you can't help but succeed.

I thank the only way most of this stuff works is if you have your own products you produce and sell or have a business you run doing something and are promoting sites for it

That's what works for me all the others stuff has yet to work when trying to sell other peoples stuff.

I sell my own stuff we make and promote website i have another business with and that works to.

I have many sites trying to sell other peoples stuff that don't work at all as everyone is selling all the same stuff someplace.

I want to make all or most of my income from the internet but that seems to be very hard to do unless you can live on very little.
I do ok with website design but most of my income is from a local business i have and then some extra from stuff we sell on-line we make.

Since you titled your post "I AM GIVING UP" it's rather clear that you've already made up your mind as to your course of action.

    1) You didn't ask for any help, or advice. You didn't ask for your mind to be changed.

    2) Instead you stated how you felt, complained a bit about this and that, took a potshot at others who are (allegedly) having more success than you, and stated that you're giving up.

I have always said that the difference between winners and losers is not the number of times they fall, but the number of times they get back up on their feet. I am not living up to what I preach, I guess.

This is the ONLY thing I can do in my condition, so giving up literally means jumping off a cliff for me. And I love life too much to do that.

However when my hard work gets labeled as spam, people call me incompetent and idiots delete my relevant and useful links labeling them as spam, then I am extremely tempted to give up. I just don't know what to do. I try my best, but it never seems enough. I get a link after a week of hard work and lose another two. At this rate, I am not going anywhere. That's what I mean by giving up: giving up hope that I will ever succeed, and the thought is so depressing.

    Hi Arthur,

What almost everyone here has said. Life is like that sometimes, we all have really low points. And some of us have kids and so added to our low points, are worry and anxieties. But these are not things that should make you get a rock and head for the sea...instead use them as fuel; let them fire your determination to succeed. So your friends laugh at you? Great. Why not make up your mind that you will show them that YOU can make this work. And it does depend on you, you know that don't you?

So enough of the pity party. Get up, dust yourself and keep at it.

So much nonsense in this thread. He doesn't need a coach. He either needs more content if the niche is broad enough to fill it. But if not, he needs more niches. Do people even read? He already knows how to make money but is not ramping it up. The problem is not marketing, it's his lack of action and silly excuses.

And the victim mindset. "I'm trying my best, but it's just so hard..."

Arthur, your last 2 responses show that you're not interested in changing. Even after all these posts encouraging you - you're still going to give up.

Honest question, I am genuinely curious here: Why does it depress you to give up?

Because I have nothing left other than this or MacDonalds, since I cannot continue doing my old job. And I would rather chop off my arms than work at MacDonalds because that also means giving up all my dreams.

I am interested in changing. I have tried to change and I am still trying to change.

Thanks for sharing a bit more about your situation.

Some advice for the future: don't come onto the forum here and post up a complaint like you did. You'll receive very little SPECIFIC advice. You'll get a lot of motivational stuff, as you can see. Which is not bad, but it's not practical.

So let's get down and dirty:

          1) How much do you need to make per month? As much as a job at MD? or more? Less? Give an estimate please.

          2) Please list out specifically what you are doing right now to make $100 per month. Don't give away your private details if you don't want to.

Let's figure out how to get you from the $100 to whatever you need to make per month. It's all about the numbers.

Thanks ksmusselman I agree that you rock!

            Meepo:

            1) Definitely more to pay for my medical bills. I am not expecting to start making $5000 a month out of nowhere.

            2) Basically all I do is forum marketing, some Yahoo answers with affiliate products and now trying domaining.

              Thank you too, Arthur.

One thing I've noticed lately with Google, they've made it a lot more difficult to get traffic. I get more traffic from Bing and Yahoo, Facebook and Twitter than from Google. And that's fine by me!

I'm more into "community action" now. I don't just tweet my own posts on Twitter; I'll take a few minutes and repost other posts, reply to some tweets, etc.

When I join a new Facebook group, I browse around and share posts, comment on them without my own self-serving links, start up dialogue.

If I head over to Yahoo! Answers, I copy the questions and my answers and expand them into full-out blog posts. I do the same with community Q&As that I see.

But right now, for you, as for me too, head over to fiverr.com and set up a couple of gigs and do things for other people that they can't, won't, don't have the time to do for themselves.

My fiverr cash paid for my husband's Christmas present and two marketing tools I really, really needed!

I use fiverr as my "Will Work for XXX" outlet.

In fact, since I'm thinking I might have to do some paid advertising eventually, I'm using my fiverr cash for that. I leave the money on my fiverr account and use it to buy articles or video distribution or press release distribution.

And like someone else said here, the thing is to ramp it up. Or to be more cliche, don't put all your eggs in one basket. Once you get one blog or site set up, set up another one. Get that moving, and set up another one.

If you can get three sites each making you even $500/mo, that's $1500/mo just for writing content and getting out there in webspace and sharing your knowledge!

That's my plan of attack. Once I get my second blog set up, I'll be making up my 532nd "system" of blogging and marketing.

Actually, it'll be my third blog. I have a general "working from home" blog that I haven't been doing much with at all. I think my last post there was in September.

              WOW, STOP....

First off, get yourself a realistic goal. Let's say $500 a month in the next 3 months.

Secondly, you are actually spamming.. Yahoo answers and forum posting is not a way to build legit traffic to your affiliate site. Instead, start to READ real blogs (quicksprout.com, backlinko.com kaiserthesage.com, tripleseo.com, hitreach.co.uk etc), follow them on twitter, follow their advice. read through their blog posts. Once you have done that, you know how to get FREE traffic to your affiliate site without spamming.

Thirdly, never quit one strategy before you've succeeded. Domaining is overly saturated business and without tons of cash flow - you've got nothing to do there.

Pick one strategy, learn from the authorities, implement it & scale.

I started IM 3 years ago when I was 19... Of course I failed back then, but I also managed to make some pennies that keep me motivated and I had a belief that I can make some REAL money in the future.

I built affiliate site and used SEO to bring relevant traffic to the site. However, most of my sites tanked. Then I started to re-focus, I didn't buy any products just read blogs, case studies, analyzed competitors etc...

And you know what, now I'm just not only a affiliate and SEO guy. I have a much larger picture on how things actually work and what's needs to be done...There's no loophope, there's only hard work which of course consists some sort of failing...

I'm making mid xx,xxx figures every single month from my couch, it's doable. But you have to be focused, LASER-FOCUSED on what you are doing.

            Thanks meepo

From my experience, it's not all about the "numbers." It's more about the PASSION. Just like with an offline j.o.b., if you don't LIKE what you're doing, it's harder to get where you want to be, no matter what dire straits you're in.

I've had a gazillion "systems" set up on my desktop; schedules, timelines, plans of attack, you name it, at a time when the mortgage was headed into default and I didn't have the cash to buy my prescription meds.

So I took the time to learn Photoshop and Powerpoint, had a ball with it and starting making money doing videos. I'm still doing that in fact, while marketing my other businesses.

But seriously, when you have no interest in what you're doing, you can schedule and plan and work any "system" till the cows come home but really, the lack of sincerity will eventually show through in everything you do.

That's just something that's hard to fake - that you really like what you're doing. It shows in your content, your videos, your blog posts, everything. People can see that somebody is only doing it for the money, not to help anyone else or that they even like what they're doing. And that can stop any business cold.

I'm not able to just go out and get a job either, unless it's as a wheelchair Walmart greeter.

And since my bursitis is acting up more and more lately, along with other disabilities, I need to be at my computer for hours at a time, doing a lot of things as a one-armed bandit with just my mouse.

Last year I "quit" the computer for the entire holidays - well, except for Facebook, which is a serious and addictive sidetrack! But it took my mind off my "failures" and allowed me to refocus.

I've also had a decades-long frenemy relationship with clinical depression, which has its breakthrough times even with my meds.

But I know I have to keep on going because disability income isn't enough to keep up with the bills and I am certainly NOT going to lose my house over it.

I've gone through mentoring and coaching. Save your money. Just get inside your own head and boot out the "trying" and switch to "doing." You'll get there!!

I don't want to be rude, but that is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard!

You think that taking a step back is giving up?!

Plenty of people try and fail, get a job and try again and make it - BIG!

I also think that you're using your impaired vision as an excuse for your failure which is lame.

Again, there are plenty of people in this world that are in a much worse position that you.

Why not take your condition and use to inspire someone instead of feeling sorry for yourself?

          Watch this video then have a word with yourself;

          Hello Arthur.

I understand where you're coming from. I struggled for 7 long years and spend over $40,000 to make this online thing work !!

Luckily I wrote a post today about giving up. I would suggest you read it before you think about giving up.

          Here is the link:

That's It; I Am Giving Up

I hear you and feel your frustration.

I have been working at this for years, literally years. And I am still working hard at it! I am totally in love with the idea of being an online entrepreneur and that is what keeps me trying. Or maybe I am just chasing windmills, who knows.

Looking back on all that I have done and attempted and based on my experiences, I would recommend to anyone starting out or to anyone thinking of quitting- get a mentor/coach.

You may have to pay a thousand or two for a highly-recommended and successful coach, but, in the long run you will save yourself a wad of cash and a heck of a lot of time in finally being successful.

Seriously - stop trying to MAKE contacts. Think in the reverse and let the contacts come TO you.

Participate in Facebook Communities/Groups, communities on Google+, niche targeted forums and blogs.

BUT - don't go in with the attitude of trying to network and make contacts. Just go in and "mingle." Reply to other posts that INTEREST you.

I did that for a few weeks; ran one press release and a bridal magazine writer contacted me for an interview.

I've been doing regular tweets (which I need to get moving again) and five of my blog posts have been picked up and posted on a high traffic blog.

So do the reverse. Stop thinking and acting like you need to find contacts. Just be yourself, blog about your interests, hit Yahoo! Answers to see what problems other people are having and help them.

The more you're seen as being someone who has something to offer that will help them, the more you'll get recognized. It does work that way!

Okay, Pat Flynn. Love him!!! But I'll tell you why he got his break - he HELPS people. He LOVES what he does. He has a true, unmitigated PASSION for what he does. And it's visible in everything he writes and makes videos about.

He "travels" in the right arenas too. Good example; if I want to get seen by people like "TheKnot.com," I'm not going to find them in an electronics forum. I'm going to get noticed in wedding forums and communities. And it's not going to be because I'm trying to get people to buy from my links. It's going to be because I'm offering opinions and feedback with other members, and providing solid, sincere information relative to that specific industry.

Another thing, do not even think about the PR of any blog. I've gotten visitors from the most isolated blogs around. A visitor is a visitor! And if that visitor comes from a niche targeted, related blog or website, that's all it takes. You never know if the PR0 or completely unrated blog isn't owned by someone that knows someone.

And here's another thing, you're not incompetent in making "friends." You just might be looking in the wrong places, or in not enough places.

Analogy here: I felt that way a lifetime ago after my [third] husband and I divorced. 'I'm a failure. I'll never find anyone. waah waah waah.'

'I've looked everywhere.. church, camp, blind dates, bars, the laundromat, even the frozen food aisle... nothing ever works.'

So where did I meet my current - and last - and best husband ever? (We've been married for nine years now) ONLINE. And everybody thought I was bat-crazy for putting up ads on dating sites. "You're nuts! You're a lunatic!"

And this awesome man, whom I married three years later, answered MY ad! Hah - guess I showed them, now, didn't I!

And my biggest nay-sayer was my own son! 'Wow, mom. You must really be desperate.'

'No, son. Desperate is going to a movie or a bar by yourself just to meet guys.'

And when his relationship broke up, he says, 'Hey mom. What's that site again?' And the woman he met online - they've been married now for 7 years and have two kids.

Sounds off topic, BUT, the same can be said for IM. If you're in the "wrong" place, it doesn't matter how many people you meet if they don't want what you have.

But if you keep hanging out in the Right places, while it may take some time, eventually the right people will find YOU.

Uh, no. He was already making thousands per month with his own site that had nothing to do with making money online(HINT HINT) well before Yaro Stark said one word about him. WTF have you done that should have people begging to give you a chance? WTF have you done that should be featured by someone like Yaro or Pat, or anyone else for that matter? Nothing. You have a blog about making money that doesn't make money and you ignore advice that could get you moving in the right direction. As long as you keep doing the same thing over and over, don't expect to get different results.

Apparently the point is to do the same thing over and over ~>.. Ergo specificity yields higher returns than spreading investments. At least from point GO.

Exactly what a good coach will help with. A "good" coach will help you find your roadblocks and help you create a path to push through them, which includes creating a plan of action and focus.

Dont quit dude. I know how it feels. I feel like quitting once a week! What drives me on is the alternative. Working a crappy job for crappy pay! Boo

I started 2 years ago when I couldn't work as a bricklayer due to ill health. I said to myself lets see where I can get in 10 years. I had some success to start with and thought "this is easy" then I ended up, now, with next to nothing, but I am gonna keep going.

If I stop i'll never get there. And thats the bottom line!

All these big wigs that are making dough they didn't get there by magic. They worked at it and tested ideas out.

You gotta keep going dude its a long road but youll get there!!

I feel your pain!!! And I've literally been EXACTLY where you are for the last few months...

After Google kicking my arse on two of my sites - the original one and the rebuild - I still haven't gotten anywhere with it. So I sat down, did some more research and decided to refocus.

And I am now once again in the affiliate marketing arena instead of selling my own products.

I just spent the last three days overhauling my site once again, moving from designing and selling my own products to setting up an Amazon aStore. Fortunately I had enough foresight when I bought the domain that I knew if one idea didn't pan out, I could still use the same domain and content and repurpose it into an affiliate site. So that's what I'm doing.

Next, I stopped back on a company site of a relatively new product that I've been using and love and saw that they just launched their own affiliate program. I applied; the partner called and we spoke on the phone a while, and after he reviewed a voluntary, sincere and heartfelt video review, accepted me as an affiliate team member!

I am SO excited! So now I just need to register a new domain name and set up the blog, some videos and I'm on my way.

It is SO EASY to get frustrated, disillusioned and want to throw in the towel. But when you're in the position you're in, which is similar to mine (vision problems, plus fibroymalgia, plus arthritis, plus bursitis, which shut down my transcription business), you simply CAN'T give up!

I've been so fed up with this online marketing that I haven't been on this site in what seems like FOREVER. But I'm back, just so I can keep up on some of the latest IM techniques - White Hat of course.

I don't know what all you have tried, but my suggestion would be to do only two things:

    1. Find YOUR passion, not someone else's make-money schemes, but YOUR passion.

    2. Focus!

Find some Google+ forums where people who like what you like hang out.

For me, it's Weddings. My first wedding related blog did really, really well. So what did I do? I freaking sold it. DUH So I've waited out the two-year non-compete contract and just started up again writing from the heart about my passion - I just LOVE weddings!

I've joined specific, niche targeted Facebook groups and Google+ communities where I can chat with like-minded people about that industry. I'm not a professional vendor; I just LOVE weddings!

Next, I've spent hours on YouTube watching videos in this other niche that I'm just starting into. It's fun, fascinating and I just really love learning about it. So that's a new venture.

But sure, I feel ya... 'nothing I've tried has worked.' That's because I wasn't into it. I spent six months in one program that was supposed to be making me $500 days in the first weeks. Yeah, right.

Next, a "plug in" opportunity that never went anywhere after about 8 months.

And more recently I dropped out of two programs; one after a YEAR that went absolutely nowhere, and the other after a few months that went nowhere.

Why? I only signed up for the money. And when the money didn't come, I had absolutely ZERO passion to keep me interested while I built the program.

Listen to YOUR heart and mind, not anyone else's, and something will break for you!

In the meantime, seriously, browse fiverr.com - I did make about $200 last month with my little fiverr gigs. Not a lot, but $200 more than I made with anything else this year!

And I've been at this for the last five years or so! So I know where you're at! There are people here that if they remember me, they can attest to that fact.

But I'm still here - not giving up! And you can't either!

Keep learning something new every day. Persistence is everything. Even the smallest progress is a good thing. The slowest turtles still get to where they need to go...

You can learn almost everything you need to know right here on the WF. Use the search function and search for "traffic methods" + "build a list" or "paid traffic" or "free traffic" or "list building", etc. etc.

    1. Learn how to make a squeeze page.

    2. Get an auto-responder to build a list. Aweber is great.

    3. Learn how to drive traffic, either paid or free to your squeeze page (where you offer a valuable freebie as an incentive to opt-in to your list).

    4. Set up helpful messages to be sent out to your subscribers once a week or twice a week, and add an affiliate link or 2 in each message or in every other message.
You can buy pre-written messages for your auto-responder on Fiverr(dot)com and even have somebody schedule them into your Auto-responder for you. I bought 52 pre-written auto-responder messages on Fiverr and then paid the same guy to program them into my Aweber account to be sent out once a week for 52 weeks. You can buy pre-written messages in almost any niche such as weight loss, bodybuilding, insomnia, internet marketing, hair loss, etc. etc.

Do these steps. Drive traffic to your squeeze page and only to your squeeze page, whether it is free traffic or paid traffic.

When you have 2,000 to 3,000 subscribers in your list, then come back here and tell everyone how much you earn each month !

Use 50% of your time online learning and the other 50% taking action.

List building. I will admit, I still haven't gotten a handle on that yet. I'm a slow learner; it took me three YEARS to understand css!!!

I'm the type that things don't click the first, second, fifth, ninth time around. Then one day I'll be like - oh wow! Light bulb! That's how it works!

I think that's how it's going to happen with building a list too. I'm just not getting it, and I've tossed that around for like the last five years. Maybe in another two or three that light bulb will click on.

A gameplan from greenowl. Good stuff! And some damn fine advice about passion, you're right it's not *all* about the numbers passion plays a big part. I meant that figuring out what Arthur should do next is all about the numbers, he needs to figure out what to do every day to hit his monthly income.

    So Arthur:

    1) How much exactly do you need each month?

    2) How exactly are you making your $100 per month? What are the steps you're doing?

We need to get more specific to find out if there's a block somewhere, or if there's a more efficient way of doing what you're already doing.

If we just 2x your income and get you up to 200/month that would probably give your confidence a good boost, yes?

    Take a beak.
Sometimes that's all we need, really.

Then resolve to take action again, giving up should not be ur option.
However, you have to work smart too. Find out the problem, experiment.
Why isn't your visitors responding? Is it your design? Is it your strategy?

    Goodluck and cheer up

One more thing to give you some inspiration (in addition to the plan I gave you above) :

Thomas Edison experimented with 6,000 different substances before he found the best solution to creating a long-lasting filament for the light bulb. Every failed attempt got him a little bit closer to the solution.

    @Arthur,

Hey buddy....everyone that has ever accomplished anything in their life have gone through what you are going through right now.

Consider Thomas Edison....he was trying to find the little metal filament in the light bulb....he failed thousands of times....He failed until he found the one way to do it.

When it comes to friends....you will need to put them on the spot. If you feel that IM is where you want your life to be, then they either need to support you or they can consider the relationship over. Is this harsh??? Yes, very harsh....but who is being harsh right now??? They are.

Anyone that puts another person down is doing so because they do not like the feelings of inadequacy in themselves.

You are a person of power....you have the makings of greatness in you and you only need to give yourself the opportunity to make that a reality.

If you need anything, let me know.

You can reach me at: johndavidbrewer1@gmail.com

    You can do it.

I appreciate that you are being kind and trying to help, but I have to mention that I strongly disagree with this part of your post. I think it is extremely terrible advice, and a good recipe for being friendless.

The last thing Arthur (or anyone who is trying and making no apparent progress) needs is to toss friends aside because they refuse to tell him what he wants to hear; good friends don't do that; they speak their minds honestly because they care enough to do so even when it's uncomfortable.

Very likely his friends are concerned about him, and very tired of seeing him pour effort into something that bears no fruit. Don't forget there was even a mention of suicide in the first post; how do you know his friends aren't fearing for his life?

They would be poor friends indeed, if they didn't try to stop him doing something they believed would lead him to take his own life. What Arthur needs is to follow through, regardless of anyone's opinion, or perhaps use "prove them wrong" as a motivation to succeed.

But even if he does "prove them wrong", they aren't really wrong to be concerned; he's been talking about this a long time, and all the evidence leads them to the conclusion that it isn't going to work; they can't be blamed for not knowing he's about to turn a corner.

He came here for encouragement and ideas from people who know this can be turned around, and that was the right thing to do; not issue ultimatums to friends who understandably don't expect it to work.

I am sorry to see you are leaving. I understand that the whole thing can be frustrating. I started off in GPT for a year, moved over into more direct affiliate marketing with landing pages and authority websites. and then moved into CPA Network ownership. I still do all of these things but it is like putting a little brick here and there everyday...trying to keep building houses. What i think is also important is having fall back work. My wife has other jobs that she travels and does with food safety companies. We also are astute poker players so we make a little extra through playing poker. I also have a budding writing career that I am working on developing which could bring a little here and there as well. Affiliate marketing is still the center piece though...One day at a time

You are in the right track because you shared your thoughts here. This is already inspirational for you, this forum is really concerned. I believe you'll be looking back at this thread, and telling us how far you have come.

Take a short break, and get more inspiration. Then get down to work. Try new methods - affiliates, product launching, funnel marketing, e.t.c.

Keep your websites, and come up with another. Do proper market research, create a USP and a customer avatar. Engage your targeted audience and employ social media techniques to build your website.

You need to work hard and smart, that means entirely changing your mindset.

Then share your progress, it will really help.

Get away from IM forums and start to think what people need and what people buy.

Do they need a new tv when it breaks down? Yes

Do they need a new toaster when it breaks down? Yes

Do they need a new roof when it leaks? Yes

Do they need the next "how to make $100k/month" ebook? No

So focus on selling what they need and if you can't offer the service or product then sell the leads to someone who can or take the commission for it.

Did you already try this and you failed miserably? Then go back to the drawing board and revamp your strategy completely, throw it a 1000 degrees over the top and go again. It's really not that hard to figure out how to make income online. But it does require a pretty large investment, in either time or money, although nowhere close to starting a real business.

IM is not a golden ticket to freedom.

It's like trying to make it in basketball, you won't. Unless you're very very talented.

IM should always be a second career until you can afford to make it into a full time role.

Plus the whole idea of IM as a job isn't stable.

USE IM skills to find OFF LINE CLIENTS.

Get LONG TERM CONTRACTS in place, which GUARANTEE MONTHLY INCOME!

Don't rely on the next promo product or JV to pay your bills.

Contracts are like a paycheck.. The IM should be used not to MAKE MONEY but to ASSIST YOU in making money.

Get out, meet some people, offer a service.

No one can help a defeatist man, not even the man himself.

Be honest with yourself. Have you really taken the action you need to - consistently?
If you are making $100 per month then in theory doubling what you do should double your revenue. Are you testing to see what actions are bringing you the results? If you optimize you could save time and become more efficient.
Don't give up, you've done the hard bit and that is making any money at all!

Arthur, I don't know what you like to do outside of marketing, but what I find extremely helpful whenever I run into a roadblock or a stressful situation is to go for a hike or a mountain bike ride.

Getting out in nature on a beautiful SUNNY day without a care in the world is cleansing to my mind, spirit and body. The feel of the sun radiating on your skin, the fresh air and freedom work like magic to de-stress and de-clutter your head. Take some time to get barefoot on the earth as well ...especially in the sun!

They key is to completely turn off your current situation and business thoughts and focus on just enjoying the day... the now.

Then come back refreshed with a new point of view.

    Try it.

Online Only is partly right. I am not spamming because I am not breaking any of the forum's rules on which I post, but this "method" can't be scaled because there is a limit to the amount of commercial posts I can post on each forum. Even if the limit wasn't there, or if someone suggest me to post on "more forums", I wouldn't have time to that. I spend 10 hours a day working on my business, two of which everyday to post on forums. That's how I make the $100 (sometimes less) every month. That's 60 hours of work for $100 - like $1.50 an hour...

I thank again everyone for the encouragement. 99% of you guys are awesome. I will just keep my mouth shut regarding the other 1% who came to my site to insult me. Thanks for all the suggestions and feedback.

Hold up here a moment! I am going to be BRUTAL here and speak from experience.

I spent a long time earning nothing before I started making money. I had family calling my a bum, a waster, a no hoper, someone with his head in the clouds. Heck, my ex girlfriend cheated on me and left because she didn't have faith in me.

I've been there. But I stuck at it, and it paid off. And what I have learnt, at least for me, is this game is more about failing 99% of the time and succeeding 1%. You try, try, try, try, try, but when you succeed it's all worth it. Now I can earn £10,000 a month consistently.

Do not for one moment think I live any sort of dream. £10,000 is nothing compared to some. In 2012 I was sent to prison for 12 months for computer misuse (unrelated to money/marketing). I came out of prison broke, I lost around £75,000 in savings, and then found out I had Testicle Cancer. I've had to go through Chemotherapy. I'm all clear now (as of the start of this month), but as you can see life hasn't been easy. But through the Cancer I still worked as hard as I could. I still focused. Infact, in October I had one of my best months whilst I was lying in bed suffering the effects of Chemo.

We all chase £££ and chase the dream, but on top of chasing money you also have to have a passion for what you do. If there's no passion, you will quickly be driven to bordem and failure. Many times I test stuff out, research, etc. It takes me some time, and costs me some money at times ... and it sometimes fails. But the failure process for me is just as important as the success. I am happy to sit here and fail because every failure is a learning process. Failure really does not bother me in the slightest. You need to change your perspective!

If your heart is not in it, quit. There's no point in doing something you have no desire to do.

But believe me, some of us have had our fair share of trials in life! I thank God for every day I'm alive.

    Edit:

You also need to be creative. I bet you any amount of money I could scale what you was doing by simply writing a piece of software to ensure I don't have spend 10 hours a day doing a monotonous task. Obviously I won't. I am just saying. Get creative with what you are doing, automate it. Free up those 10 hours to invest your time into another method, or improve what you're doing. There is no such word as impossible :p

Honestly, I have to agree about the McDonalds things. I would also rather chop my arms off rather than work at McDonalds.

I've worked many jobs in my life. I worked at Petsmart for 6 years (which was fun but the money was shit) Shop Rite for 2 years (which was a nightmare - operating any type of cash register for a long period of time will slowly rape your soul) then I also worked at a Car Wash for 2 years and although it was hard work, I made a lot of money in tips which was nice. Then I worked at a Club for 1 year and the tips were awesome, but the high paced customer service is unbearable + dealing with drunks. I couldn't take it.

Eventually I got into what my brother was doing which was selling high end home improvement jobs... and I have to admit... I was really lucky. If my brother wasn't willing to take me on leads and train me for 6 months, I wouldn't be where I am today.

Selling high end home improvement was a rush. You could walk into a home for 1 hour and come out $3,000 richer. But you have to learn the industry and sales which isn't for everyone. I actually loved contracting but I reached a point in my life where me and my brother couldn't get enough leads.

Thats what brought me to WF at first.

I came on here not knowing a thing about marketing. But eventually I taught myself how to make sites, how to register on review sites, how to rank sites, how to make YT videos, how to rank them.... and before I knew it my brothers phone was ringing off the hook.

To the point where I could no longer go on sales because I was making more money by generating the leads.

Eventually my brother connected me with a lot of business owners, and I started scaling up what I was doing over a year. I started making more money than I've ever made in my life with my biggest year being this year.

But things don't always go as planned. Hummingbird was released, and many of my sites suffered.

Fortunately I had been investing money into Clickbank at the time, so I have some money coming in on auto pilot, and residual commissions from the bit of leads I'm still generating.

But in a way I'm back to square 1 and starting all over again.

Its hard to feel on top of the world at a certain point (this past summer) then fall comes around and you're back in survival mode. I thought I had everything figured out, but now I have to work my ass off, work much smarter this time, and get back to where I was before.

I can say now that I love marketing. I have a degree in psychology and I love making compelling websites & content. But I'm also a bit lazy and wound up taking risks that I'm now paying for (spun content and other things).

It was a tough thing to deal with going from a consistent 6-8k / month now down to 2-3k a month. And part of me wants to give up but.... I can't. I'm probably just as frustrated as you are.

With that said... the only advice I can give you is this. Jim Rohn is one of my idols in life. And he said something that has ultimately shaped my life and the way I view my future. He said "work harder on yourself than you do on your job, and you'll become wealthy".

That 1 statement is true in so many ways it would take a lifetime to explain.

It was something I took to heart. Because I realized "wow... thats all I really did". I wasn't really working on a "job".... the whole time I was just learning new skills. I wasn't even sure at the time HOW I would use those skills, or IF they would even benefit me... but inevitably they did.

The more you work on yourself, the more skills you learn, the better care you take of yourself, the better you eat, the more you read, the more you invest in YOU, the MORE that YOU become worth.

If you ask me, that is the 1 and ONLY formula for success in life.

I might be going through a rough time... but at least I have the skills and the knowledge to get myself out of this situation, same as I did before. And I'm positive there will be more bumps in the road, but in the end, its all making me a stronger / smarter person.

As far as skills go, there is something important you need to know.

You can NOT learn skills by reading forums and watching videos. You can become AWARE of skills.... or familiar with them... but you only really "learn" a skill once you apply it. The more you apply different skills, the more skills you acquire. The more versatile and valuable you become.

Also, you have to realize that there are certain infectious ideologies that can corrupt your thinking. Like the book "4 Hour Work Week". Its a great book. Very inspirational. But it also teaches people that hard work is a bad thing... which its not. You can apply a lot of the techniques in the book to work more effectively, and waste less time, and overall work less. But no matter what, you will always have to "initiate" yourself into wealth. That initiation is a period of dirty, confusing, hard, monotonous, mind scrambling WORK.

Like that motivational speaker said, you really have to want success as badly as you want to breathe when you are drowning. Thats why you'll find, a lot of people who are in really bad circumstances in life, can usually propel themselves like a rocket into a wealthy lifestyle. Much faster than a person whos not in such dire circumstances.

Because one person is drowning, and the other person is not.

And once you DO start making good money, you can NEVER become comfortable. That was one huge mistake I made over the last few months. Money was rolling in, I told myself "its time to sit back a bit and enjoy life" and I started taking shortcuts, started taking risks I know I shouldn't have... and before I knew it reality slammed into my face like a train.

Now I'm in a weird situation. Because I have the skills, and KNOW the sky is the limit. But this is the first time in my life I've ever been spoiled. If I wanted, I still have enough money in the bank to not do shit for the next 9-12 months. So its not a drop in earnings that worries me as much as my new entitled attitude. And I'm realizing I have to change my attitude and become "hungry" again... when the reality is I'm nowhere near as bad as when I started.

Either way, life will always have its challenges. And you will need to carve out your own path. You will need to have faith in yourself, you'll have to learn skills, become a good problem solver... and make it work. You'll need to discipline yourself which many people can't do.

In the end if you fail... you're very well looking at the prospects of working at McDonalds. So all I can really say is good luck. Nothing in life comes easy. Even if you were born into a rich family, you'd have an entirely different set of problems to deal with. I have some rich friends and I can tell you from experience, I wouldn't trade my position with them if my life depended on it.

Nobody succeeds without failing first! Don't give up! If you need to make money right now, try your hand at writing articles for one of the main brokerages. (textbroker, iwriter, etc.). The pay isn't great but it's money to pay the bills. Hang in there.

First off, I cannot imagine what it must be like to be visually impaired. We men tend to be very visual creatures, so this gotta be one of the worst thing that can happen to us...

I have had to wear glasses every since I was 7 years old but it is not as bad as my 80+ grandfather who must use magnifying glass to play solitaire. I do not know about your exact situation though...

Second, my friends do not think I can make it and think it is a waste of time and my family just want me to get a "regular job just like everyone else" so I am feeling you exactly there man...

It also happens to be the case that I have a part-time job at MacDonalds competitive company (although I cannot mention its name and it is in Sweden so it probably doesn't matter that much either)...

This stressful job with a lot of disgusting food that we serve to people who should know better, is not that fulfilling. It is my dream, long-term vision to be able to help people through the internet and have enough spare time to enjoy my other hobbies. I would imagine you have something similar to this...

Third, the world of internet marketing is both a kind and unkind place, depending on how you approach it. The majority of people's focus when they enter IM is to only make money, money, money.

And yes, this is the long-term goal at the end of the day and we if don't make money, our businesses won't survive and we won't be able to get what we want in our lives.

On the other hand, if our main focus is only on making money, money, money, we forget an essential point: where does money come from? From other people! (yeah sure, that is like "duh")

But if that is so "duh" why do we focus in the wrong direction???

The most important thing I have learned in life and internet marketing the last 3 years is this:

It's all about the perspective of Your Customer

Just like what I did first here; I related to you instead of "attacking" you...

It's easy for me, (just like for anyone else), to tell you what to do, and then feel empowered that I actually have helped someone...

But I know, just like you do, that saying words and taking action is two completely different things, that sometimes don't go really well together...

Now, back to the "customer thing". The 3 biggest main categories where you can make money by helping people are:

    1) Business & Success (which is mostly men-dominated because men wanna make money so they can attract mates, yeah let's just honestly admit to ourselves what really drives us at the end of the day)

    2) Relationships, sex & dating (which is mostly men-dominated in the realm of sex & dating since most men are raised to be very ineffective with women, including myself in the past)

    3) Health & Fitness (which is mostly women-dominated because women want to make themselves more beautiful/attractive to attract male mates because we are all driven by the very same thing: survival and reproduction)

In all these 3 big categories you can find certain "needs" or what some might call "niches".

Most of these "needs" are what PEOPLE THINK THEY NEED IN ORDER TO SURVIVE AND/OR REPRODUCE.

For example, many women might think that if they can only fit those 5 years old jeans everything would be solved so they go after weight-loss products and/or beauty enhancements products.

While many men might think that if they can only make this or that enough amount or money or get that luxury car, then they would be able to attract beautiful women and life would be solved.

So they get into IM (like I did) or want to know how to build strong abs because they think this will magically make women start knocking on their doors.

The lesson to be learned here?

    CUSTOMERS/WE ARE IRRATIONAL

So, when you look into these sub-niches (a niche within a niche, for example, dating for men is mainly "success with women" with sub-niches such as: getting phone numbers, getting dates, approaching women, creating attraction, setting updates, dancing, getting into physical shape, body language, being a bad boy, getting physical, being better in the bed and/or managing relationships).

Yesterday when I was online on a Skype-like software (Mumble), a friend of mine was illustrating this irrational response very well: he was so bored because he has no job but he has some buffer on his bank account so he wanted to play a first-person-shooter computer game.

But he had no money to purchase any so he was so desperate at trying to get money from someone, borrowing or getting from his parents.

He also knew that he had to download the game from internet which would take him hours so he was almost willing to go down to the store to get the DVD so he could install it faster but still have to pay about 30$ more for it.

So, it was really interesting to notice how "short-term" he was thinking about just to play a game when he knew he would get cash this 25th.

This is the kind of mindset potential customers will be in when they are looking for concrete results; they want fast, easy and incredible results without any inconvenient action needed to be taken.

Therefore, when you think about what you might wanna sell, you should look for "urgent needs people have" and people have urgent needs all the times; remember it is irrational, they/we don't realize that life is usually more complicated than we like it to be.

We/they want quick fixes, magic bullets and simple step-by-step formulas so in one or another way we as marketers must provide this while staying ethical (not selling poop in a box so to speak).

A good place to start is to go to Clickbank.com and look at the marketplace and see what sells best and get onto the world of affiliate marketing where you essentially sell other people's stuff.

Then you don't have to deal with refunds and such. Xbox One and PS4 is coming up so video game guides will be a sure niche to get involved into soon.

Other stuff you could promote are: computer softwares (driver softwares, anti-virus softwares, computer performance enhancement softwares), beauty enhancements products (diets, enlargements pills for different body parts).

Selling other internet marketing stuff I find to be unethical if we have not any success yet in the marketing field ourselves. I do not sell that such kind of thing yet because I wouldn't feel good about myself selling stuff that I do not use myself.

Alright, this gotta be like a long salesletter you've ever read here on WF (and I haven't even talked about my product! Hint: I got none).

A GOOD WAY TO START YOUR EVERY DAY FROM NOW ON:

P.S. This is NOT medical advice. I am NOT a doctor. Consult an expert always before applying anything you read, see or hear online.

    Start your day with:

    1) Taking a long walk, maybe listening to some self-development program or an intellectual podcast.

    2) Eat healthy, fresh, raw, organic foods instead of processed poop-in-a-box-food.

    3) Work without any distractions (phones, social media, e-mails, or other websites you don't need to have open) on something that will produce the best amount of results in the long-run such as: PPC, articles or blogs for affiliate products.

    4) Begin working with these things always after you have taken your walk and eaten your food, then your mind will be at its best shape. After 1 hour of work, take a break for 10-20 minutes then work 1 hour and so on.

    5) After you have worked with your things, relax and enjoy yourself (in healthy ways, no emotional eating). Make sure you always go to bed at exact same times so you get enough sleep. Not enough sleep impairs your quality of life and productivity in all ways you can imagine (I am a victim myself of poor sleep when I mess up my daily rhythms).

Alright this is it as Michael Jacksson's DVD title says...

Now you might have some inspiration, motivation, feelings, excitement, fears etc. And the best way to conquer your fears, life and the universe is through COURAGE:

COURAGE IS DOING WHAT IS NOT DANGEROUS BUT IT FEELS LIKE IT IS

So, courage is NOT approaching a bear to show off your fearlessness.

Courage is working online, taking those walks, eating those healthy foods and doing the unknown (working online) and realizing it is okay and you will make it.

Because WF is here for you which is evident by all the responses and the high amount of views.

I think many people can relate to your situation of "having a very hard time with IM and not getting the support needed from peers and family".

I know I can and hope more can. Thank you very much for honestly sharing your story, your challenges and I wish you the best and that you apply the most powerful thing in life: SPEED OF IMPLEMENTATION.

This is how fast you try out something new when you first hear, see, read or learn about it. It's all up you now. The ball has been thrown to you. The hypnotic writing has ended! ;-P

I have no idea what kind of effort you have put into this business because I do not walk in your shoes but I will tell you that if you can get really good in any specific area of interest to many in this business, you can charge to teach/coach them or to do the work for them..

This can be very lucrative if you position yourself properly. If you do give up make sure you have something else lined up otherwise we'll be in an even worse scenario financially and mentally.

    I wish you the best.

You sure? Come over to India for a while then - you can survive pretty well on $200/month (if you're single, assuming you have some sort of savings). You'll eventually get the hang of things and start making more.

Plus, if you're really that desperate, there are tons of things you can do right away. You can PM me and talk to me about it, or take a look at this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...desperate.html

Pardon me, but that's bull****. The only fiction about making money online is when people say that it's gonna be easy.

Need traffic? - Put up a website, link to it in your WF sig, be an active member. 2-10 views per day right there.

Need links? Guest posting, article marketing, article directory marketing. Talk to Alexa Smith on this one.

Selling online? Think Amazon, Clickbank, your own products.

Overall, I understand - I really do. I was in the exact same place about....well....12 hours ago. Then, I buckled down, realized that I was being a whiny, complaining idiot, and started again. The life of an IM isn't an easy one in the beginning.

All the best! (and seriously, get away from the sea )

I'm starting to feel the same way. What first attracted me to the internet was selling ebooks on Ebay. When I first got started I was literally making up to $500 per week. But after that slowed down I tried my hands at starting websites and so far I haven't been able to make over $100 a month off the internet. One of my websites made me up to $200 per week around Christmas but other than that I haven't been able to generate a full-time income off the internet. I have a couple more ideas that I'm going to try. After that I'm going to throw in the towel and start working on a local business.

Is your main area of difficulty simply getting traffic and links? Looking at your site, your content seems engaging enough that you shouldn't have much trouble building a list. You do however need to change the verbiage on your opt-in form. No one in their right mind would sign up to your newsletter with a call-to-action like that! Offer something FREE and of VALUE to entice visitors to sign up, and move your opt-in form so it's above the fold (at the top of your sidebar).

As far as getting links, have you thought of creating your own private link network? This can easily be done using web 2.0 properties and a nifty piece of software. Another great idea to help spread the word about your site is via Youtube. Create some how-to videos that are related to the content of your site and embed them into your articles (works wonders for SEO). Read this for Youtube Video SEO tips - lots of good tips here:

Other than this, keep adding valuable content to your site and keep on top of your social media efforts (especially Google+ and Twitter - both are proven to offer SEO benefits)

Remember, many of us have been (or are still) in the same shoes as you. You say you lack friends in the IM community? Well, your thread here is a good example of the many ways you can connect with people that share similar interests and dreams.

I love this "I give up" ideology, it totally suggests that entrepreneurialism is the ultimate realm by which the strongest survive!

This journey is not without its defeats, especially failing before jumping in to even swim.

The personal fears and insecurities are more of a barrier to entry than starting Capital.

Where do you see yourself? Good, now tooth and nail to get there. You have to live by it just like you commit to Shabbos on Fridays or wake up early on Sunday for Church.....

In the end you either make it or die trying. How much more real do you need it to be?

That isn't to say it will cost you your life to succeed in online marketing, e-commerce, or working from your location and making an income on your laptop. It's just stop whining with your first world mentality. And embrace your opportunity to seize control of your life and be in charge of paying your own bills!

When Colonel Harland Sanders retired at the age of 65, he had little to show for himself, except an old Caddie roadster, a $105 monthly pension check, and a recipe for chicken.

Knowing he couldn't live on his pension, he took his chicken recipe in hand, got behind the wheel of his van, and set out to make his fortune. His first plan was to sell his chicken recipe to restaurant owners, who would in turn give him a residual for every piece of chicken they sold--5 cents per chicken. The first restaurateur he called on turned him down.

    So did the second.

    So did the third.

In fact, the first 1008 sales calls Colonel Sanders made ended in rejection. Still, he continued to call on owners as he traveled across the USA, sleeping in his car to save money. Prospect number 1009 gave him his first "yes."

After two years of making daily sales he had signed up a total of five restaurants. Still the Colonel pressed on, knowing that he had a great chicken recipe and that someday the idea would catch on.

    You get the idea..

Thanks for the precious feedback, everyone! Uniqueas, I just changed the wording in my newsletter sign up form. I realize that people - both prospective link partners and visitors aren't getting my jokes and I am going to try something else, at least as far as first impressions go. Yes, getting traffic is the main issue I have. I am working on the links issue and I got some results, but no matter what I do or where I post, advertise etc. it seems that I can't get any traffic. The very best day I ever had was 40 uniques and normally it's 3-10 unique visitors per day. How people get 20000 traffic is beyond me. My site is on page one of Google for three low competition keywords and according to Market Samurai I should have at least 100 uniques per day which I don't.

An Al (...I am the one with the wicked sense of humor? lol...), the problem is not the topic of the page. The problem is that I have no traffic. Out of the 200 people a month who visit it, I make one or two sales and get like 10 Ad Sense clicks which seems a great conversion rate to me. So it's not the content of the site that doesn't work. If I had 4000 visitors per month (x20) I would make 20 sales and cash $2000 with the same exact conversion rate I have. Then the site would be one about making money that IS making money and conversion rates would even increase as the site would gain trust. My plan does it's job. the problem is that getting any traffic seems like mission impossible.

I prefer to stick with this plan rather than start a site on a topic like gardening supplies for which I have no interest.

STEP 2: Give advice, content training. Something so they know you.

STEP 3: Create the most incredible product and sales pitch and sell it to that list or send them to the relating affiliate product THAT HAS A PROVEN CONVERSION RECORD.

Do this over and over again and watch your numbers and improve you will get results, thousands have done it already, you don't need friends you don't need to be featured on the blog, you can do it all by yourself.

If you want faster or quicker results you have to focus on a different method other than SEO all you really need which is easier said than done is offer that converts and traffic...

There are ton's of affiliate offers you can promote if you can't be bothered to create your own and as regards to getting traffic quickly very quickly there's a bunch of methods not to mention solo ads, facebook ads, doing free w.s.o's, paying for a banner on the forum , posting in the article section of this forum and uploading youtube video's...

You are apparently depressed I gather from people in your immediate environment with negative pessimistic comments. Nothing new there. You aren't the first and won't be the last. IM can be somewhat of a solitary and isolated profession or it can seem that way at times.

You need self accountability. Much more different than outside or external accountability. More on that later.

Secondly I only briefly skimmed the first and last pages of this thread. From what you have stated your specific goal problem or objective appears to be traffic. Once again join the club. No magic bullet there but no need to learn from your detractors and be defeatist negative fatalistic or pessimistic as your offline critics that surround you when it comes to generating traffic.

Guess what? Generating traffic is not an impossible dream. But slow down and don't start dancing and celebrating yet. There will not be a magic bullet or magic button to push. Let's get back to reality rather than swinging to wild extremes.

How about treating this problem with troubleshooting solutions like any other problem in life? The goal is traffic. Fine. Why are you restricting your solutions to Google and SEO? Think beyond the box when it comes to troubleshooting solutions for problems in business including traffic.

There is a great big world out there beyond Google. If you are open to and willing to look beyond Google wouldn't that open up a logically larger world of solutions for traffic to your website?

These are just some quick thoughts off the top of my head. It's wide open out here when it comes to traffic. Don't abandon Google just look far beyond SEO. Make sense?

Think of this as a mentoring session and each day as another work day. Come here each day with questions updates reports brainstorming sessions and feedback to your specific tweaks efforts and experiences in daily business. I guarantee you will get ten times better feedback reinforcement encouragement support knowledge wisdom and who knows what else here than in your current energy draining environment.

You will also get negative drama and feedback here as well. Newsflash. It's almost inescapable but not totally. You choose what to listen to and who to listen to and what you decide to feed and digest into your mind.

IM is just another part of life just like anything else. You will be who you choose to be online and offline. That choice is always in your hands.

Maybe this rant will help maybe it won't. The choice is yours.

I consider giving up all the time. I'm not making any more money than you are. My husband earns more than I do, but not enough to support two people. He and I may have to move to Mexico because we cannot afford to live in the U.S. on the type of wages we're capable of earning here...at least not right now. Our copywriting business isn't even six months old yet.

I was talking to someone about this over the weekend: a lot of people think that entrepreneurship is like getting a traditional job, that all you need to do is fling open the doors of your business--in our cases, put up a website--and within a week or two, the money will start coming in, then arrive regularly after that.

That is not how a business works at all. It could take 2-3 years for a new business to get into the black. The only reason why my husband earns any money at all is because he's been plugging away since 2005.

I agree with the others who've said that you need to rid your life of those toxic "just go work at McDonald's" people. I hate those people. I've eliminated people like that from my own life. They are losers who want to bring you down to their level. They do not want to see you succeed.

If what you are currently doing is not working, perhaps you need to do something else. Remember that "Internet marketing" is a broad term encompassing everything from selling widgets on eBay to copywriting to web design to affiliate marketing to social media management to selling PLR materials.

I, too, have tried a number of things over the past 2.5 years that failed miserably. First off, in 2011 I graduated from university with a B.S. in Math & Computer Science. I couldn't even get a $7.25/hour job with this [expletive] degree. This was, by far, the worst failure, because it set off all the other ones:

    * My idea for a junk-removal company failed when I realized I didn't have the resources (equipment or labor) to operate it.

    * My idea for a "marketing" company failed because I didn't know what the HELL I was selling.

    * My petsitting company failed because the demand in my area is for in-home dog boarding, as opposed to dog walking, and I don't have room to board dogs in my house.

    * I tried being a Beachbody Coach (an MLM setup) which failed miserably because I simply don't have the personality for MLM. I also don't believe in their Shakeology product, which is the core of the opportunity. I think it's overpriced snake oil, and I couldn't bring myself to push it on people.

    * I had a great oDesk job that abruptly blew up when the client company went broke and shut down. There wasn't even anyone left there to terminate our contracts, let alone leave feedback when I finally hit the "terminate" button myself.

That job ended in May. I launched my copywriting business in June. I haven't earned more than $100.00/month since.

Thanks to everyone! You guys are all awesome. Those who are requesting me to explain what I do exactly, please have a look at my profile. It's all there.

@Jen I am sorry; your argument doesn't make any sense. Why would anyone even bother to work 24hours a day, 7 days a week for this and not follow truly helpful advice. I have seen too many people pay $500 or more, sweat all their shirts off and get nothing other a "believe in yourself and you can do it" feeling from the mentoring. I am not falling for these kind of scams. That money would be better invested in ads or list building than in someone who wants to be paid upfront because they know they can't deliver results.
