How do I set up the process for customers to download my ebook?

Hi,

I'm setting up a website to sell info products.

But I'm confused on how to set up the download part of the ebook after they pay.
I've put a Paypal link for them to buy but after that, i don't know what to do next.

How would you do this?

Send them to a download page on your site.

Have a link pointing to your pdf.

You can upload the pdf to your site, that's the download link. Something like http://yoursite.com/yourebook.pdf is what it looks like.

Send them to a page with an autoresponder so that you can collect their emails then add a "thank you message" with the the link to the ebook. If you already have their emails then create a "thank you page" where they'll download the ebook. Spice up the thank you page with a few related affiliate products to maximize profits.

You can also create an upsell and send them to an OTO (one-time-offer) after the purchase. There's a lot of ways but hope that gives you some ideas

I would look into a service like e-Junkie.

Yes, you can send people to a page on your site, but that is typically not very secure and is "bare bones" marketing.

With a hosted service like e-Junkie, you'll have
      • Buy now and shopping cart buttons (so you can sell multiple items)
      • Multiple payment processors
      • Inventory management
      • The ability to promote your product to their customers
      • Discount codes to run specials
      • eMail notifications
      • Autoresponders, messages
      • Ability to track where your sales come from
      • Affiliate management
It's the bells and whistles that you pay for, but it greatly simplifies your selling process and you look professional to your customers.

And the service is quite reasonable - $5/month to sell 10 products.

(If you want to try the service free for 67 days to see if you like it, use coupon code EZE-JUNKIE - hopefully it still works - no guarantee - I'm not an affiliate)

      Good luck to you,

      Steve

  • MAJ, for a simple solution, when you are creating your Paypal buy it now button, there is an advanced feature that allows you to place a URL so that after the person pays with PayPal it will re-direct them to that URL. The URL should be the web page that contains a download link to your product. This is a quick fix.

I would highly recommend getting your hands on a download manager to protect the distribution of your content after someone buys your product.
