If you have multiple sites, a plugin can be a time saver, and yes, duplicator would be one I would consider.

BUT....the only way to know if a backup plugin is reliable is by restoring your site with it in a test environment. Even then, if the plugin developer doesn't keep the plugin updated, things can go wrong and you won't know until you come to actually use your backup for a restore.

I learned the hard way. That is why I back up my 3 sites via cPanel, then store the backup in Dropbox, Google Drive, or Sky Drive.

I back up once weekly, and more often after I make a lot of changes or add a lot of new content.

There is an export function in my themes for saving theme updates, and I do that each time I make major changes in the theme, which is not that often.

WP Twin is the best in my opinion ...

In my experience so far Duplicator and WP Clone work great up to a point. When the zipped file starts to get close to 400MB they stop working, cannot generate the backup.

As yet none of the plugins I have tried will work on larger sites. How is WP Twin for sites with lots of data? (I have several academic sites I created and manage for educational projects and they contain lots of images and presentations in powerpoint etc. so they get quite big)

I have a very large site with hundreds of posts and images. The zipped file is close to 500MB and WP Twin will not work. I have tried several plugins, both free and paid, and have yet to find one that will work for that site. I have to back up the files and database manually.

Try to back up and restore the entire WHM account that will take care of all of you sites, databases and POP 3 accounts and any setting you might have. You can restore it on any hosting account with linix.
