Are Clickbank Issues Resolved?

Hi All!

I know there was a lot of concern not too long ago about sales not tracking properly in Clickbank and affiliates not getting paid.

Have those issues been resolved? If you're promoting Clickbank products, are your sales being tracked correctly and are you getting paid?

Thanks for your help!

Michelle

As long as Spybot and the antiquated tracking system is still in place, affiliates are losing sales everywhere (not just on CB) even as we speak.

This whole affiliate tracking thingy needs a breakthrough in technology.

Affiliate tracking should not just be depended on cookies for tracking, which is one reason I don't like using clickbank as my affiliate system, as it is just too limited.

      What's the alternative?

I am having weird clickbank tracking. For example 2 days ago, I had no sales, yesterday I had some sales, I went to see which products made the sale and the amount sold that day did not match what said on the home page. I checked the day before transactions and saw sales there that weren't recorded for that day. So they recorded and credited for the next day. Today is also being weird. I am getting clickthroughs, but only 1 clickthrough. My affiliate id is being recorded all the way to the sales page. Not sure if my sale credits or what is going on causing this weird activity going on lately. However, my other CB accounts are displaying tracking just fine without delays.

  • Apparently the Answer is NO. And the solution is... who cares about the affiliate? Not Clickbank as long as the money keeps coming in. Spybot is not the only thing that will strip out cookies.

Thanks for the info everyone! I appreciate it.

So does anyone know how I can track sales from someone for a product I'm creating?

Basically, I've recruited someone who has agreed to do some PPC campaigns for my new product. I'm not really opening my product up to affiliates in general, but the only way to track which sales came from his work is to set him up as an affiliate.

Otherwise, my only other option is to do NO OTHER promotion and ALL sales are credited to him. As we all know, there are TONS of ways to promote online and I have a whole promotional campaign planned and ready to go. I don't want to have my hands tied and be unable to do any other promotion to make sure he gets paid.

Part of my product is a membership program and I'm using WishList as my membership management software. I originally wanted to set up my product in PayDotCom.com, but WishList doesn't fully integrate with PDC. It DOES integrate with Clickbank though.

Grrrr! Does anyone know what I can do?

      Thanks,
      Michelle

You could look at using affiliate software that tracks by both cookies and ip address. Something like idevaffiliate.com will do that.

Tracking by ip address isn't so good in my opinion as the majority of home users have dynamic ip's

I wonder if it is possible to track by the MAC address?

I was concerned about clickbank myself. But how can we get rid of spybots? And why do companies use them, (or people) aren't they illegal?

Clickbank recently updated their entire website, but I believe their days are in the past. There are way to many other options available, with much better service and more options than Clickbank.

Not to mention, Clickbank has failed to adapt and adjust over time. They use basically the exact same method and model that they used 5 years ago, and nothing new is being offered.

There are other websites, such as Plimus.com which I prefer. They offer incredible service, no set up fee, and various other options that make them incredible. They are a little bit more expensive per transaction than Clickbank or other such sites, however, for the additional services and options, this is well worth the cost.

Man, I hate having to be in the US for all those affiliate things to work as supposed. I think I might just move there

Zero sales for weeks. Created new account and bam sales rolling in! I guess I will just have to keep creating new accounts as well. This seems to be the only solution at the moment.

      Glad I found this forum!

It would appear that the problems are far from over at the moment, there are still issues with affiliates getting credit with sales and many people are forced to set up new accounts and this seems to help but there are further improvements needed.

Man, is this really happening.. I get well over 1000 clicks a month, I can't even remember where half of my links are to go change them..

If it is really happening someone needs to prove this to CB and take them down..

As my clicks aren't generating any affiliate commissions.

mine seems OK. i have had sales the last three days in a row. Weekends always suck so nothing today. I recently tested my hoplink and got the sale credited within seconds.
