Sending Emails to Email List. Need Advice.

I have a Facebook app that collects the users name, and email address, when they play the game. I was wondering what the best way to send emails to these users would be as they are not opt-in, although they are aware that we will send them regular emails related to our Facebook games.

Any ideas?

    Is your niche 'games' ?

never done that before, but if it is fine to email them, i would send a welcoming email reminding them how they got on your list

"my name is Sirr, remember me from the facebook game"

so an introduction email, with a link at the bottom, so they havn't forgot you.

Then send some hot content emails in days to come, in an autoresponder, but not too sure how this would link with an autoresponder series.

Thank you for the response. The question was more about what service can I use to send these emails as they are only single opt-in via the Facebook app.

Aweber or getresponse, but not too sure on how to integrate it

    Hi Sirr,

I hope you won't mind my 2 cents here. You say these folks are not "opt-in," but aware you will be sending them emails. If they haven't given you their permission to email them, then it's a pretty good bet they are not aware and will percieve it as spam.

      Hello
When the people play the game do they need to put in their name and address or is it collected on the backend without them knowing?
Is there a series of affirmations that they have to click eg game is asking to post on your timeline etc
Where are their name and emails stored once collected?
If they physically have to put in their name and email ahopend agree to apps and posting prviledges then a message should be sent at that time to say they are giving permission to email them and then when you email using an autoresponder such as aweber or get response make sure there is always some way for them to unsubscribe this way you are covered.
You can add contacts to getresponse is easier to add leads to as long as they havw given you permission

I think there's some confusion here. When a user decides to play my game they have to a accept the applications permissions before they can play the game and add the application to Facebook. One of the permissions I request is their email address. The are aware prior to accepting the app I am collecting their email, name etc and there is a privacy document they have access to before accepting the app that explains why we collect the email and name and what we do with their data.

This is normal for most Facebook apps. I get emails from some of the larger apps regularly.

What I'm asking though is what service will allow me to send these emails with a good inbox rate. I heard Constant Contact can be used for this.

But the user has already accepted this at the point when they accept the application permissions. To expect my users to accept the app permissions and to then jump through hoops to recieve contact from my application via email is silly. When I ask if I can post on their wall, I ask once and they either allow it or not. It should be the same with email.

Legally there would be nothing wrong with emailing them because the action of accept the app and permissions - email permissions - should count as an optin.

These people are obviously interesting in games. So send them game offers you can get some affiliate income from. There must be some products on tweaks or cheats or something for this game. If not, then send them offers for other game products. Surely some of these folks play other games.

Thank you all for the suggestions. Maybe my title/description was a bit misleading as I was actually looking for a service to send the emails for me that wouldn't require another opt-in. As stated above the user has already opted in to allow me to send them emails relating to the Game Application on Facebook when they accepted the email permissions.

    Thank you anyway though

    I'm going with Constant Contact.
