Pay JV partner for upsell/OTO only?

Hi everyone, I have a question about JV.

Let's say that I'm going to launch a WSO. The main offer is a 'cheap' list building video course ($7), and the upsell or OTO is a Wordpress plugin ($47). Supposing the other person is a developer and he only build up the plugin. As for me I set up everything else: the list building video course, the sales pages for both offers, the auto-responder, the delivery website... (with my own investments).

In that case, if we have a 50/50 agreement, should I split the shares for both products (main offer and OTO/upsell), or should I keep 100% of the main offer and share the 50% with him only on the OTO/upsell (since he only worked on the plugin)?

Do what is right for both of you. A good relationship is hard to come by. If you feel the other person has contributed to the overall gain of the WSO, then you should share on both.

When you say JV, are you referring to your business partner that is working on the product? I just want to make sure I understand it correct.

I hope you are not referring to JVs that would sell your product to their list. In that case, you will have to share with them on all.

50/50 the whole way. You may have created the front end but without his backend plugin, you wouldn't be making any backend sales and it's worth noting majority of your income will be from the backend product he created so he definitely deserves half of the whole funnel.

I think it's better to split the share throughout, because as WillR says, the plugin is also part of the WSO, and the one that brings the most money.

It's also about looking towards the future. If this partnership goes well then there is no reason why you couldn't do it again with one another and a new product. So it's in your best interest to be as fair as possible.

OTO is where the money is made ... which is what your partner brought to the table.

Probably best to split the whole thing 50/50
