Why tracking and what is the best software?

Hey Fellow Warrriors,

Before i start to track all my links i want to know is that is really worth it?,
what has been your experience in tracking all your efforts online?
and what is the best tracking software you all have finded and used?

    I have been struggling with this subject also, I know for sure that in order to know what is working for you, you have to keep track of everything, but setting up tracking has been a pain for me.

    I will check back this thread and see what the warriors recommend.

    If you use google analytics then tracking is easy. Go to google analytics and they give you a script that you put on each page of your site, and it just works. I get lot of information thru that tracking. It would have been impossible for me to track all that information.

    I use my own brand hotroi which is the first ever dedicated for articles, .. basically what it does is allow me to see how my articles are performing on different resources . I can track conversion to leads sales, clicks and impressions, as well as filter with flash charts... I also use it with links on my websites or emails sometimes...

    I also use openx and google analytics for different occasions.

    It can be time consuming sometimes, but you do get a lot of answers.

    For example, if you did send out an email to your list, you could find out how many people actually responded to your call.

    You could run a series of emails to determine if it is the offer that is wrong, or if that list is even opening your emails in the first place. That's just a simple example and it will ultimately depend on what you want to know.

    I personally feel that tracking is important and you should track every chance you get
